Kurt and Logan had been dating for a few months and Kurt loved it. Logan was nothing like Kurt's past partners. He was so nice to Kurt, and he made him laugh. Sure Logan was gruff, and it was kind of hard for Kurt to get to know him at first because he wasn't much of a conversationalist with strangers. But as time went on, Kurt and Logan became close friends, and then boyfriends, and as their relationship went on things only got better in Kurt's opinion. 

Kurt loved spending time with Logan, and doing romantic things with him. Kurt liked making Logan breakfast, and then sitting in the man's lap while they ate. He liked when he would sometimes spend the night in Logan's room and he would rub Logan's back to help the man relax enough to sleep, or rub his knuckles to help ease the pain of his claws. And Logan would do nice things for Kurt too, which was something Kurt wasn't really used to. 

Logan would give Kurt random kisses on the cheek throughout the day, or bring him snacks so Kurt wouldn't get hungry. Logan made sure to bring Kurt sodas when he found out that Kurt didn't beer. And the first time Kurt started involuntarily purring because Logan just made him happy, Logan told him it was cute, and encouraged Kurt not to hold his purring in anymore like Kurt's past partners did. Logan would even blow dry Kurt's fur for him when he got out of the shower, and help Kurt calm down from nightmares. 

Logan couldn't have been anymore perfect in Kurt's opinion. But then things just got even more amazing.

Kurt and Logan were in Logan's room making out on his bed, and Kurt wouldn't have been able to stop his incredibly loud purring if he tried. Kurt was laying down on the bed with Logan hovering over him, and his arms were around Logan's neck. Logan gave Kurt a kiss on the lips before moving to give Kurt a kiss on the cheek, then he made Kurt giggle by blowing a raspberry into Kurt's fur. Then Logan pulled back so that he was making eye contact with Kurt and smiled. 

"I think you and I need to talk?" Logan said softly, sitting up and grabbing Kurt's hands to help him sit up too.

"Ok. What about?" Kurt asked. He was feeling a bit anxious, worried that maybe Logan was going to break up with him, or ask him to hide certain parts of his mutant biology.

"Our relationship is getting more physical, so I think we should have a discussion about our comforts and boundaries." Logan said, and Kurt sighed in relief, then smiled at Logan and scooted a little closer to hold the man's hands. 

"I think that's a good idea. You're very sweet Logan." 

"Yeah, I hope you feel special because the last few people I've slept with were all just one night stands and I didn't care enough about any of them to have this discussion first." Logan smiled up at Kurt, rubbing his thumb over the back of the man's hand, and Kurt smiled back. 

"I definitely feel special. So, what kind of things were you thinking?"

"Well, for starters, I don't think I can really contract or give any STDs, but I think we should both get tested just to make sure that we're both clean. I don't know what I would do if I ever hurt you in anyway."

"It's sweet how much you care, and I think you're right, getting tested is a good idea."

"I'm glad."Logan leaned forward and kissed Kurt gently on the cheek before leaning back again. "Now let's talk about our comforts and boundaries. I want to make sure that when we do have sex, no one is being hurt in any way."

"That's very kind of you. Now I'm sorry if this is a disappointment to you, but right now I'm really only comfortable with relatively vanilla sex. In the future I might be comfortable with something more...kinky, I guess, for lack of better term. But not right now."

"That's not a disappointment to be at all." Logan was quick to assure Kurt. "The most important thing is that we're both comfortable, and that we both feel happy, and loved, and safe. As long as that's how we both feel, the rest isn't that important."

"I really don't deserve you." Kurt moved back, pulling Logan with him, so that both men were laying comfortably against Logan's pillows. Kurt wiggled Logan's covers out from underneath them and covered both of their legs before settling in nestled into Logan's side. "So what about you? What are your comforts and boundaries?"

"Same as you I guess. Though with my super strength and the fact that my bones are metal, it's important to me that we're always careful."

"Of course. And I think I should let you know that I've had some...bad experiences with relationships and sex in the past, and sometimes I still have relapses."

"That's ok Elf. If you ever get uncomfortable, or scared, or whatever please just make sure you tell me. I won't be upset with you, and I'll do whatever you need me to in order to help you feel safe again. My only request is that you do the same for me if I need it."

"Well of course I would do the same for you." Kurt sat up and looked down at Logan seriously. "I would never want to hurt you." 

"I know you wouldn't. Come here." Logan pulled Kurt back down gently so that the man was resting his head on Logan's chest again, and kissed the top of Kurt's head. "I love you Kurt."

"I love you too Logan. Thank you for having this talk with me. It means a lot to me to know how much you care." Kurt relaxed into Logan's hold, and his eyes drifted shut as he slowly began to fall asleep.

"Thank you for letting me have this talk. I really care about you and want to make sure our relationship is as healthy for both of us as possible. Go ahead and sleep, I'll be here when you wake up." Logan pulled the covers a little higher to cover Kurt up more. Then Logan helped Kurt sleep peacefully by softly holding onto his arm with one hand, and using the other one to gently comb through Kurt's hair.

When Kurt woke up Logan was there, just like he promised.
