A Bad Day

Logan had been through a lot in his life, and after years of a lot of soul searching, and self care, and living with the X-Men, he was doing a lot better than he used to. For the most part his anxiety was under control, his depression wasn't that bad, and he only had nightmares occasionally, but he still had his bad days. Sometimes Logan's mental illnesses, and his past, got the best of him, and no matter what he did he just couldn't get his mind out of the deep end of the pool. He was just glad that he never had to deal with those days alone though.

Kurt had been doing so much better since he got rescued from the Munich Circles, but he had his bad days too, so he always understood how Logan was feeling, and did whatever he could to help Logan feel better. Meaning, when Kurt noticed that Logan never came down for breakfast, and instead just stayed under the covers of their bed, it wasn't hard to figure out what was going on.

"Logan? Are you ok?" Kurt asked gently, sitting on the edge of the bed. Logan didn't respond, and instead just rolled over under the covers, and moved them down just enough that he could peek out at Kurt.

"Are you having a bad head day?" Kurt asked, reaching a hand out to cup Logan's cheek gently, and rubbed his thumb over Logan's cheek lovingly. Logan nodded, then turned his head into Kurt's hand, appreciating the physical affection.

"Can you tell me how I can help?" Kurt asked, knowing that he was unlikely to get a response, because Logan rarely felt like talking when he was having a bad day, but Logan usually found otherways to communicate.

Logan was still for a moment, just looking up at Kurt, and nuzzling his face into Kurt's hand, but then he started moving. Logan shifted so that he could lift the covers he was under up, and reached his other hand out to pull Kurt under the covers with him. Kurt was happy to crawl under the covers with his husband, already knowing exactly how to help. Kurt let Logan rest his head on his chest, and he combed his hand through Logan's hair. Logan relaxed comfortably for a little, before starting to ruck Kurt's shirt up, grumbling angrily when he couldn't get it off since Kurt was still laying down.

Kurt chuckled, and sat up to pull his shirt off and drop it onto the floor, pulling his pants off under the covers too so that he was in nothing but his boxers. Kurt laid back down, and hugged Logan close to him, knowing that Logan enjoyed the feeling of Kurt's soft fur against his hands, and his cheek. Kurt went back to carding his fingers through Logan's hair, and wrapped his tail around one of Logan's legs, a way of silently telling Logan that he was there for him, and wasn't going anywhere.

"Did anything happen to trigger you?" Kurt asked quietly, and Logan shook his head. "Well that's alright. It's ok to have bad day, and to feel bad sometimes. You don't have to try to force yourself to be happy all the time. And not matter what, no matter how you are feeling, I'm here for you. I'll help in any way that you need, and I'll make sure that you're taken care of, even if it just means holding you while you sleep, or listening if you want to talk. I've got you."

Logan turned his face further into Kurt's chest, burying it in Kurt's fur, and kissing him gently to let Kurt know that he appreciated it. Then Logan hugged Kurt very tightly, and relaxed more in Kurt's hold, silently letting Kurt know that he loved, and trusted him.

"I love you too Logan." Kurt whispered, kissing Logan on the head, and holding him while he slept, just like he promised.
