Insecure Pt. 2

Kurt continued to make excuses to go see Logan at his apartment across the hall. He would say that he accidently made too much food and wondered if Logan would like the extras, or that he was in the mood to bake and wondered if Logan wanted some cookies. One of his lamer excuses was that he got a catalog for discounted stuff in his mail, and it all seemed like something Logan would be interested in. No matter what his excuse was though, Logan always just smiled kindly, thanked Kurt for his generosity, and invited him inside. Then one day, all of Kurt's awkward visiting finally worked out in the best way possible.

"I just got a new movie that I've never seen before." Logan informed Kurt. "If you want, you can come watch it with me."

"Really?" Kurt asked, and Logan nodded, stepping aside so Kurt could come inside his apartment. The two men sat on Logan's couch, and sometime during the movie, Logan reached out and grabbed Kurt's hand to hold it.

Kurt looked over at Logan, confused but not unhappy, and Logan looked over at him too after a bit. The two men just stared at each other for a little while, and Kurt watched Logan's eyes flick down to his lips, and them back up to meet Kurt's eyes again. Kurt just stared at Logan, surprised, and a bit confused, but also feeling energized and excited.

"Can I kiss you?" Logan asked softly. Kurt gulped, and stared at Logan for a small moment before answering.

"Yeah." Kurt breathed out weekly, already leaning forward a bit. Logan kissed Kurt, and Kurt loved it. Logan's lips were rough, and a bit chapped, and his face was rough with stubble when Kurt moved his hand up to touch it. Logan tangled one of his hands in Kurt's hair, and deepened the kiss.

"Would you be interested in going on a date?" Logan asked quietly against Kurt's lips when the men pulled away from one another to breathe. Kurt nodded happily, but then his blood ran cold when he remembered exactly why he couldn't go out with Logan.

"I would love that, but before we go on any dates there's something I need to tell you." Kurt said, pulling further away from Logan and gently removing the man's hand from his hair.

Logan looked confused, and maybe a bit hurt, which really upset Kurt, and made him want to just continue to pretend to be someone he wasn't, just to wipe that look off of Logan's face, but he knew he couldn't do that. Kurt sighed softly as he pulled his device out of his pocket, knowing that he was going to miss Logan's friendship when he was rejected for his true form, as he always was.

"What is it?" Logan asked, probably getting sick of waiting for Kurt to continue himself.

"This isn't what I actually look like. I would love to keep pretending, because I really like you, but I know that that's not fair to you. So I have to tell you that," Kurt shut his device off, and his disguise faded away, revealing his natural fuzzy blue skin, his solid yellow eyes, his pointy ears and teeth, his hands with only three fingers, and his long tail that he was flicking anxiously. "I'm a mutant."

Kurt was expecting Logan to yell at him. He was expecting Logan to curse him out for betraying his trust, and for Logan to start yelling about how disgusted he was to have kissed someone who looked the way Kurt did, and Kurt shut his eyes preparing for the assault, but it never came. Confused, Kurt opened his eyes to find Logan smiling at him.

"Are you not scared?" Kurt asked in a quiet voice, confused by Logan's smile.

"Kind of the opposite actually. I'm really glad that you're a mutant." Logan replied.

"Why?" Logan held up one of his hands, and with a loud SSHHIINNKKTT, three metal blades shot out of his hand, in between his knuckles. Kurt flinched a bit, startled by the sudden appearance of the knives out of Logan's skin.

"I'm a mutant too." Logan explained, letting Kurt take his hand and gently run his blue fingers along the blades.

"What all can you do?" Kurt asked.

"Well, I've got these claws, I'm pretty strong, I have a heightened sense of smell, and I have superpowered healing. What about you?"

"I can teleport."

"Really? Can I see?" Logan looked really excited, and Kurt chuckled, and let the man pull his hand back and retract his claws.

Then Kurt perched on Logan's couch, and teleported so he was perched on the kitchen counter on the other side of the room with a puff of smoke and a stench of sulfur.  When the smoke cleared, Logan was looking over at Kurt with what looked like amazement as he approached Kurt. Kurt shifted so that he was sitting flat on the counter, his legs dangling over the side. Logan placed his hands gently on each of Kurt's knees, making the man blush under his fur.

"That was really cool." Logan said.

"Yeah? Most people are pretty off put by me. That's why I wear the disguise." Kurt replied, kind of embarrassed.

"Yeah, not a lot of people like me either. But they usually figure that as long as they don't touch me too much, it's easy for them to pretend I'm not a mutant?"

"Touch you too much? What do you mean?"

"My bones are covered in metal. They're impossible to break and make me weigh a ton, but it means I can win in just about any fight, even without my healing ability." Logan explained with an almost self deprecating smirk. Logan grabbed one of Kurt's hands and put it against his arm, letting Kurt feel his metal bones through the skin and muscle,

"Wow." Kurt said after a moment. "Your downstairs neighbors must resent you." Logan burst out laughing, a sound that filled Kurt's heart with warmth, and made him want to kiss Logan once again.

"Yes they probably do." Logan chuckled.

"Do you still want to go out with me?" Kurt asked nervously.

"Well yeah, why wouldn't I?" Logan asked in response, leaning close to Kurt and brushing their lips together as he spoke. " You're cute as hell."

Logan kissed Kurt again, both of them smiling into it. Kurt had finally found someone who accepted him for who he was, and Logan was amazing. He treated Kurt with kindness, and compassion, and Kurt loved him so much. And Logan finally found someone who was ok with his weight, and his claws, and who never asked him to pretend that he wasn't a mutant.

Logan and Kurt built a relationship together based on mutual trust and understanding, and most importantly love.
