Coffee shop AU
Kurt walked into his favorite coffee shop, ready to get his usual. He was looking down at his phone, checking his emails to see if his boss had asked him to do anything last minute, as she often did. There didn't appear to be anything new though, and Kurt was thankful for that, as it meant that his morning would be significantly less busy.
Kurt stepped up to the counter, and immediately forgot what he was going to ask for. Kurt ordered the same thing every time, and it got to the point where a lot of times, whoever was working the counter would see him walk through the door, and already begin making his coffee. This time, however, the person working at the counter was new, and not familiar with Kurt's order yet.
It was a man, maybe only a little older than Kurt, with thick black hair that seemed to almost stick up like ears. The man had stubble on his jaw, and dark brown eyes, and he was very muscular, leaving Kurt's eyes to be drawn to where the man's apron was stretched tight across his chest, and the name 'Logan' was scrawled messily on a name tag.
"What can I get for you?" The man, Logan, asked, his voice a deep rumble that made Kurt think of some things he really wanted to hear Logan whisper closely in his ear. Kurt coughed awkwardly, hoping his blush wasn't too noticeable as he pulled himself out of his stupor.
"Um, could I get a tall hot chocolate with extra whipped cream?" Kurt asked, flicking his tail nervously. It wasn't his usual order, but he had panicked a little.
"Sure. Can I get a name for that cutie?" Logan asked with a smirk, picking up a cup and a marker.
"Kurt." Kurt replied, and Logan hummed in response, writing the name on the cup.
Kurt kept coming back to the coffee shop, as usual, but now it was for entirely different reasons, and on days he usually prefered to stay home. Kurt found himself going for the sole purpose of seeing Logan. Kurt had gotten a lot better at flirting since he was no longer shocked to silence by the sight of one of the most attractive men he had ever seen before in his life, and he found that he genuinely liked Logan.
The man was gruff, but he had a nice smile, and on days he was feeling good, he was actually really nice, though he was nice to Kurt even if he was in a not so great mood. Logan was also funny. Like, really, really funny and Kurt found himself laughing almost hysterically pretty much everyday he was in the coffee shop. Best of all, Logan was sweet. He asked Kurt about himself, and generally listened to what he had to say, and he brought Kurt drinks and snacks on the house sometimes. Logan was also very physical, and would give Kurt hugs, and hold his hand, and kiss him on the head sometimes, which would normally bother Kurt when he didn't know someone very well, but he really saw Logan as a friend, so he didn't mind the physical contact.
"Hey Elf. How's it going?" Logan asked, greeting Kurt with a kiss on the head, and sitting across from Kurt at their table in the corner, finally on his break.
"I'm good. How are you?" Kurt asked in response, purring lightly at Logan's nickname for him.
"I'm really good." Logan replied, reaching across the table to hold Kurt's hand.
"Hey Logan? There's something I wanted to ask you." Kurt flipped his tail and wiggled his feet nervously, and Logan looked concerned when he noticed the nervousness, seemingly unable to decide if he should pull his hand away from Kurt's or hold it tighter.
"What is it?"
"I was wondering if you'd be interested in going on a date with me. And maybe be my boyfriend?" Kurt watched Logan slowly become confused, and grew even more nervous, afraid that Logan was going to reject him.
"I...thought we already were boyfriends."
"What?" Kurt chuckled. "Why did you think that?"
"Because you said we could be boyfriends."
"When did I say that?"
"We were texting, and you said that you wanted a boyfriend, and I said that I wanted one too, and then you said that we could be boyfriends." Logan looked really concerned, and he began to pull his hand back from Kurt's, but Kurt stopped him by holding his hand tighter. Kurt put his head in his other hand, and started laughing. "Why are you laughing?"
"Because this is kind of embarrassing. I was joking when I sent that text, well, kind of joking anyway. I thought we were just joking around, but I did hope that that conversation might turn into us dating. I guess it did and I just didn't realise it."
"But, what about us holding hands, and me kissing your head? That didn't tell you that we were maybe more than friends?" Logan was laughing too now.
"I thought you were just very physical when you got comfortable with people."
"So are we actually boyfriends now?"
"I sure hope so."
"So then you won't mind if I kiss you?"
"Goodness no." Kurt smiled into the kiss with Logan, purring loudly, and flicking his tail happily.
Since the two men were officially dating, they began to hang out outside of the coffee shop more, and Kurt loved it. He loved cuddling with Logan on the couch and making out while they watched movies, or laying with Logan in their boxers in bed while they kissed softly, or talked quietly. Kurt just loved spending time with Logan in general, and was honestly, genuinely, unbelievably happy.
