Chapter 12

Evanna was living an easy life at the moment. There wasn't any big wars or anything that could make her want to throw someone across the room. She was doing pretty well. In fact, Charles had given Evan a job as a teacher. Doing History and combat wasn't hard. She loved teaching. But the thing she loved the most about it was meeting Logan.

Sure they didn't do a very good job of being nice to one another. But that was them. They knew they cared when they insulted one another or made sarcastic comments. Like the day she meets Logan in the Kitchen.

Evanna had another sleepless night so she had decided to go to the kitchen to get some ice cream. Her hair was a mess and her eyes were still adjusting to the lights. Evanna entered the kitchen and saw a man sticking his claws at a cat. Evan smirked and leaned on the door frame. The man hadn't noticed her yet.

"You know." Logan quickly turned around to face her. His claws still out. "It's not normal for someone to just wake up at two in the morning, grab a beer, and threaten my cat." She pushed her body off the frame as she made her way to the freezer.

"Well if you haven't noticed I'm not particularly normal," Logan says as his claws had gone back into his knuckles. Evan focused on his mind a bit and smiled.

"So, you came here looking for a bit of yourself? Trust me when I say this." She placed the ice cream on the counter. "You will never leave this place empty-handed. Even if you get something that wasn't quite exactly what you want. Charles is good at getting people memories back." Logan watched her carefully as she pulled out an ice cream scooper.

"How did you know-" Evan cut his words short when she pointed at her head. He then understood that she was like Charles. So was Jean but Evan was stronger than Jean. Eric knew that but he could never use her for his own personal benefits. He loved her too much to hurt her.

Evan saw her cat Cheshire walking her way and she smiled. "Hey, their Cheshire." Evan picked her cat up and he snuggled his face on her own. "I won't let the big bad wolf hurt you," she spoke with a pout set on her face. Logan chuckled and grabbed two bowls from the cupboard behind him.

He placed them in front of Evan and she smiled placing Cheshire on the ground. She opened the box and began scooping out their midnight snack. "I'm sorry I don't think I met you when I showed up," Logan says leaning on the counter. Evan chuckled at his words. Logan couldn't help but let his mind be consumed by sweet thoughts about Evanna. She was beautiful and Logan didn't care to cover it up. But Evan could sense feelings for Jean.

"You would be correct. I don't usually like to greet new people. As Charles says I'm not a people person." She looked up and Logan knew who she was now.

"You're the old mutant." He realized what he said and Evan laughed throwing her head back. Wow, Charles. Thanks. Just what I needed. She thought to herself.

"Nice to know that people are calling me that now." Logan opened his mouth to say more but Evan wasn't finished. "It's alright. I know what you meant. Yes, I am indeed Evanna Grace Trueblood. The one who's almost three hundred years old and won all the U.S wars." She placed the scooper down and slid his bowl to him leaning on the counter. "You are looking at the very first government mutant slave." She picked her bowl up and walked to the doorway to go back to her room. But she stopped.

"How do you live with the fact you are immortal?" He was wondering. Logan didn't know what was coming to him. He wanted to know.

"You don't." Was all she said. Logan thought about it more and then looked back up to see she was now in front of him. "Mr. Howlett. I will say this once and only once." She was now in his personal bubble. He almost gulped loudly. But he didn't he was thankful for that. "Jean Gray is happily married to Scott. Do not ruin that. I don't fucking care how good looking you are or how smitten you are with her. Stay. The. Bloody. Hell. Away. From her." Evanna looked out for her friend this also meant making sure that those who try to hurt her and make her confused to be pushed away from Evan.

Evan was fine with the fact everyone was afraid of her. She watched Jean grow up. Hell, she taught her how to control most of her powers. Evanna was a big help to Jean. Logan was slightly confused as to why she said it but he knew later on why she did. That was the last time Logan actually saw Evanna since before the fight with Jean.

Evanna was so heartbroken when Jean wouldn't listen to her. Logan didn't kill Jean, Evan did. Charles knew those two were like sisters. They were inseparable. Evan may be a lot older than her but they got along very well. "Please Jean!" Evanna remembered the way Jean wasn't herself. Her skin was so dark and her eyes a dark crimson color that made them look black. "If you stop this we can go eat Ice cream and this will just be another story we tell! I can't lose you to power." Jean was still in there but she was hurting.

Evanna could hear Jean's pleas for help. Jean knew she needed to die. "Fight it, Jean! I know you can do it!" Evan held her hand out for Jean but Jean never took it. Phoenix wasn't going to let go of her anytime soon. Jean was still knowing what was going on. She was crying. Jean knew how many people she had hurt.

"Please!" Jean's voice rang out in Evans' head. Phoenix had different plans as she used almost all of her powers to burn everyone away. Logan watched the scene unfold as Evans skin was burning off her. But her fast healing lets her endure the pain. "I need you, Anna!" Jean's voice kept yelling at her. Evans' eyes were tearing up as she finally made it to Jean. Evan grabbed her hand and felt that horrible pain in her head. "Kill me! Evanna please!" Jean yelled again and this made Evan look up at Jean's black eyes.

"I promise. I'll fix this. We're in this together, Jean." Jeans eyes looked hurt as if she had broken through Phonix but she didn't. She tried to burn Evan away. Her skin kept burning off. Bone showed through a few times but Evan didn't let it bother her. The smell was horrible but Evan was used to it and everyone was shocked that Jean had focused her powers on Evanna instead of the whole place. "I love you. My sweet little Robin." Jeans eyes had widened as she felt something cold in her chest.

Evan could barely see through her tears that kept pouring out of her like a waterfall. Logan knew what happened and yelled out at Evanna. He was pissed she killed her but at the same time, he knew that Jean was crying out. Phoenix was dangerous and Jean couldn't control it. Her blood was slipping out of the now hole she had in her chest onto Evans' hands. Jean's powers died out as Evan and Jean fell to the ground.

"I'm so sorry." Jean was back. She cupped her bloody hand on Evans' face and smiled softly. "Thank you. We're in this together Ann." Evan watched as her best friend's light in her eye's slipped away. Jean's hand went limp and Evan lost it.

Logan tried to walk over to them but Evan was so pissed. She screamed out and this caused a huge blast around her to blow everyone away. Evan didn't lose a friend. She lost a sister. She lost someone important to her and she was crushed. Evan hated being immortal. It was heart-wrenching to watch the ones she loves die as she never ages. Evan was depressed for days on end. Making Charles, who is still alive- thanks to Evanna, tell Logan to check on her. Even though Logan was upset that Evan had killed Jean, he still had a few feelings for her deep inside him.

So Logan knocked on her door. She didn't say anything so he just let himself in. When Logan opened the door he was shocked to see that broken little bird sitting on the window seat looking out into the pouring rain. She was the one who created the rain. That explains a lot now.

"Leave." Her voice sounded so broken and unused. Logan didn't listen to her. He walked in and shut the door. But he couldn't move when he tried to go over to her. "I bloody said leave!" She yelled and threw him into the wall. He grunted and stood back up. "I don't need to hear your stupid pity shit. I don't even want to hear the lecture you have in that fucking head of yours. I don't want you yelling on the decision I had made. I  don't want to fucking be here!" She screamed out and Logan was actually pretty calm about this. Evanna couldn't read his thoughts anymore. "Fucking Charles." She mumbled and walked back to her window and wrapped Jean's blanket around her.

"I'm not here to make you angry Anna." Evans' eyes snapped at him.

"Don't call me that!" She yelled at him and he sighed walking over to her. He sat down next to her cautiously and watched her as her storm raged on. Slowly he took her hand in his but he felt a burning heat in his hand. Her hand was on fire. But Logan didn't care. Evan gave up when Logan wasn't going anywhere.

"I'm not going to lie An-" She glared at him and he sighed. "Evanna. Yes, I had feelings for Jean, but." He stopped himself and looked at her. She was so beautiful. So cold and alone. Logan wanted to help her. He wanted her. "My feelings for you were stronger. What you told me that night in the kitchen made me think." Evanna looked at him. The storm outside letting up. "I'm not an easy person to talk to. Hell, I'm not good with feelings, but I do know one thing." Logan makes Evan looked at him. Her tears were falling from her icy blue eyes.

Logan wiped her tears away with his thumb and moved closer to her. Evanna then knew. Logan was trying to tell her something important. Jean would have been so lucky if she actually chose Logan. "I'm falling in love with you. Evanna." Evans Gaze was torn from their hands and up at him.

"What-"

"Let me finish." He moved even closer to her. To the point where she could actually sit on him if she wanted. "When I first met you in that Kitchen. I knew that when you threatened me to stay away from her that It wasn't going to be easy. But you made it easy. I never grew up in a family that showed much affection but I do know what love is. I can't stop thinking about you." Evanna was shocked as hell. What was going on? Jean was also liking Logan. She couldn't- no! Logan was falling into her because there was no more Jean.

Evan quickly stood up and pushed herself away from him. "Stay away." Logan was confused. But Charles could clearly read Evan's mind. Charles had to help. "Please get out-"

"Evanna. I'm not falling for you because Jean is gone." He stood up walking to her. But Evan kept backing up.

"Please just leave me alone. I can't be Jean for you." She muttered and Logan had finally backed her into the wall. Letting Charles leave them be. "Logan-"

"I don't want you to be Jean." His placed his hands on her hips bringing her closer but still pressed against the wall and his chest. She was trapped. Her face was slightly red. Not from crying. From blushing. Logan duct his head down so he could stare into her beautiful blue eyes. "I want you Evanna. Not Jean. You." His face was so close to her it made her nervous to be around him. Her throat had clenched shut. Making it hard for her to breath.

Logan bright his hand up to her face and gently brushed her cheek with the pad of his thumb. Evanna closed her eyes like the touch. The emotion he was giving her. He truly wanted her. Slowly Logan leaned in and captured her lips with his own.

Taking her breath away with his own lips made her shiver. It was like taking a piece of her and giving it to him. Logan was a teddy bear when he wanted to be. He was mushy...sometimes.

Evanna slowly brought her hands up to his neck. Wrapping them around him she pressed her lips down harder on his own. Making Logan feel the need to bring her closer by grabbing her waist and molding her into his own body.

But at last, being human meant that you need to breath. Logan and Evanna pulled away from one another. Evan was still shocked as to what happened. Logan was no happy he got his feelings out for her. Mystic dug deep into Logan's wants that one night. It wasn't Jean that she took the form of. It was Evanna. He wanted Evan so badly that Mystic even knew.

"I can't be her-" Logan quickly shut her up by shoving her against the wall and kissing her harder than before. She was shocked but her arms were around his neck. She couldn't help but let her small thin fingers go into his beautiful signature hairstyle. Making it messy she was lifted up off the ground and placed on the bed.

Logan had to be careful with her. Evanna maybe a fast healer and immortal, age wise. But even Logan can hurt her. Jean did it. Logan never wanted to hurt her at all. He wanted to protect her. If he could. He would lock her away and only keep her for his eyes only. Evan was special to him. He doesn't remember much but he loves the memories he has been given of Evanna. She was the perfect woman for him.

Logan's hands cupped her bottom and slowly he grinds his hips into her making her moan. She was surprised by the sound she had made but Logan was good at what he does. They both had their fair share of people they had intimacy with. It was no secret Logan and Evanna would bring home people to have their ways.

Logan and Evanna had been through many types of hell and back. They were perfect for one another. In all honesty, they were a match made since the beginning. Since Evanna had been born she never knew her life would turn around. She thought she would be the only freak alive. But she was wrong. Logan and Evan had been alive for a long time. She believed that they were going to be together forever. She was excited and ready for whatever adventure she was going to be thrown in.
