~I can't wait Mom~

(No one's POV)

Weeks go by, Rory was growing impatient and nervous. They had finalized and made their decisions of who they were going to ask. All they needed was for Christopher to call her back, and she was getting more and more angry by the day that he doesn't call her back.

Her frustration was one of the topics of conversation with her mother.

"Mom", She said, angrily. "I have been waiting for him to call me back, and it's been a month".

"How many times, have you called? Maybe, he just got busy from work", Lorelai said, trying to get her to calm down.

Rory rolled her eyes, over the phone. There she goes again, defending for Christopher's behavior and being absent.

"Mom, I have called at least a couple dozen times and he has not answered, and I have to ace the fact that Dad is not a reliable person for me to count on. Yes, he is my father and I would love him to be able to have him walk down the aisle, but I can't depend on him to get back to me".

"Oh come on, Rory. Just give him a chance", Lorelai insisted.

"I've given him every chance. He has blown it, and I just can't anymore. I'm sick of his excuses. He always his an excuse, but it's never a good one", Rory said, insistently.

"His feelings well be so hurt, kid", Lorelai pleading back at her.

Rory sighed, she knew that Lorelai was going to play that card. The card in which she was worried about Christopher's feelings, since his feelings would be hurt it would end up being her fault. But, she didn't want to care anymore.

"Well, Mom. First, I'm not a kid, anymore. You know what he will do. Make promises then thinks up some wonderful excuse about why doesn't he come, I don't really have the patience or the stamina to put up or take another one of his excuses, I'm not going to go though with that again", Rory said, aggravated.

Lorelai sighed and knew when he was defeated.

"Well, what are you going to do? Who are you going to ask to walk you down the aisle"?

"Luke. It's a no brainer. He has always been there for me and shown up for me".

Lorelai sighed, taken back. "Luke?! Are you sure"?

"Yes, Mom. I'm sure. He is my choice. It is my choice, isn't it"?

"Yes, of course it is".

"Good, I'm glad. Could you ask him for me? Or just talk about it with him. So I don't scare him"?, Rory said, worriedly.

"Yeah, I could", Lorelai said, "But, are you sure"?

"Yes, I'm 100% sure", Rory said.

"Alright, I will ask him".

"Thanks, Mom. Listen Mom. I've got to go".

"Okay, bye sweets".

Rory hung up and sighed happily. Stress and anger lifted off of her. She was not going to let Christopher's absent behavior ruin anything.

Let me know what you think about this.

Hope you enjoyed reading this.

A couple of things that I want to touch on. When Lorelai said, "His feelings are going to be so hurt, Kid". Well, this is a reference to Lorelai's doesn't really care about Christopher's feelings, but she does care about the aftermath", meaning when he blames her for persuading Rory to cut him out of her life.

As if she had influence of her, when it comes to Christopher. This is one aspect of Christopher that I didn't care for, as if Lorelai would have to help Rory make up her own mind. Like, she could make her own mind, herself.

It just goes to show that Christopher didn't really now Lorelai or Rory, as much as he thinks or convince himself, that he does.

Another side of the equation in his story. Did you ever notice for the first two seasons it was Lorelai who had bad feelings toward Christopher, at someone that she couldn't depend on and Rory was kind of naive about him, she was just excited when he came around.

Well, in "Season 3", that all changed, I think it had something to do with, oh I don't know, how about Sherry pregnant with Christopher's baby (and then going back and forth between blaming her for letting him to go back to be with Sherry and then saying that he wanted to go. But, then again that's the way that he is, when he gets called out on something he deflects into making her think that it is her fault, instead of himself.

Then in "Season 3, Episode 2: The Haunted Leg". Lorelai gets 34 messages from Christopher. He even tries to get Rory to call him back. But, Rory doesn't.

Well, let's just say that they both were not happy with him.

Then "Season 4", we had not seen him in any of the episodes of "Season 4".

All of the episodes of "Season 5" thorough "Season 7", Christopher was showing up and starting trouble.

Well the roles reversed. Rory suspected his inner motives and Lorelai wanted him to be around.

Only expectations to this is when they were both angry at him when he showed him at Emily and Richard's vow renewal.
