Chapter Twenty-Four : An Answer To Our Mess!

"So there is another king but a dark one? And he's YOUR uncle?" Fearian widened his blank red eyes at his king. "How is it possible to have Dark Meanians related to us by blood? I thought they were separate species who have a mind of their own."

"That apparently broke our expectations and theories, and as it turned out, there are Dark Meanians who could be our relatives, just like your father and I." Salvador covered his face with his palm and sat there for a moment.

"So, what we know is that Blarence is our grandfather who that Dark King possesses, and he's been forced to commit crimes, but he was mostly forced to search for Fearian for some reason. But as you said, his personality seemed to be mixed up with that king, and thus, he's getting out of control," Darvin tried to explain what he knows after they have gathered all information.

"Yeah, that's the thing. Why is he getting out of control if he is possessed? And why he has more than one goal?" Fearian folded his shadowy arms.

Salvador remained the way he is as the group began to discuss and theorise about the causes of uncontrollability that Blarence had. And so Salvador dived deep into his mind and thought for himself.

If Blarence was getting out of control with more than one goal, he should've told the group that he may not be actually possessed. But after he sent his guards to check on the Silver Room, they came back to him and told him that nothing has changed in the room; the spirit was still there, not freed yet.

It was strange and even more suspicious to think about. If he wasn't freed yet, then why is he talking to him in Blarence's body? With his powers by his side as well? There has to be some logic behind this, and he has to act fast. Because Salvador never knows whether that king is planning something bigger if he already started possessing one of his men--

A knock on the door interrupted their discussion and brought Salvador to surface out of his thoughts. They all looked at the door as it slightly opened for a guard to peek his head inside.

"Sorry to interrupt your majesty, but there is a man who needs to speak with you, u-urgently," the guard said, and worry was clear in his eyes as he looked behind him and back at King Salvador.

"Who is it who needs to speak with me?" Salvador rested his elbows on his knees.

The door was burst open before the guard could answer, and a pale blue figure came quick, striding yet swaying and shaking. The fur on his face stood so high it made his face look round like a cotton ball with wide, terrified eyes of emeralds.

"King Salvador! I am SO sorry to interrupt your very SERIOUS moment, but I am here to WARN you about the DARK MEANIANS! They have invaded my MIND and asked for Fearian Grevalon--"

"Shanny!" Little Bryan broke free from Onel's grasp and ran towards Shaun, and wrapped a tight hug around his shaking legs.

"Shaun?!" Fearian, Darvin and Kyvan called in unison. Eyes widened to see their friend not only in a terrified shape but in a messed condition too.

Twigs and leaves filled his summer hair, his skin and clothes were torn and smudged with dirt, and what can be distinguished is the blood that could be his. Finally, his spectacles' arms were crooked, and the lens was cracked.

"G-Guys?!" Shaun cried back as he took a moment to look at the surrounding and at the people who stayed with king Salvador in this room that he barged in. Blinking in realisation.

"Damn, you look like you went through hell. What happened to you?" Fearian asked as he approached Shaun, who stared at his friend Fearian in silent horror.

But instead of a word, Shaun's eyes rolled back as his body collapsed.

"Oof!" Bryan said in a tiny voice as he fell along.

~~~
"Shaun? Are you alright?" Kyvan patted Shaun's cheeks as he moaned in pain.
"Come on Shaun, wake up! Do I look that horrifying to you?" Fearian poked his dark finger on Shaun's forehead. As if that would wake him up.
"Uuuhh... " Shaun moaned as his eyelids pulled open while Kyvan brushed off any dirt and leaf from his furry face.
"Is the Dark Meanian gone?" Shaun asked as his eyes wandered around tiredly.
"What Dark Meanian? That is Fearian but in a shadow form. What about you?" Kyvan asked him.
Shaun sat up with effort and a groan, then he landed a hand on his head. "I think I'm better."
"Are you sure you're alright?" King Salvador approached him. "No more screaming and panicking?" He added.
"Yeah no yelling... Except for my sheer worries-- Ah! I came here to warn you about Dark Meanians--"
"Shaun you already said it, Dark Meanians invaded your mind and asked you about me, is there anything else?" Fearian tilted his head in boredom.
"Why are you not worried or shocked about my warning?"
"Because those Dark Meanians are captured and held in the king's dungeon, so is there anything else?"
Shaun sat silent. Then sighed.
"I wanted to say that this Dark Meanian was no ordinary, he was much stronger--"
"Yeah we already went through that, he's stronger and all that shit, we get it, is there anything else?"
"He seemed to be possessed--"
"Yeah we just discovered that--"
"Fearian for Fyroness's sake let him finish! You're not helping at all!" Darvin darted his head to Fearian, who kept rubbing his forehead.
"Okay fine! I just want it to end alright? God this headache." Fearian skated across the floor with his legless body to the chair and sat on it, his shadowy limbs hanging lazily while one hand remained on his head.
"Okay, go on." Darvin returned to Shaun.
"As I was saying, when that man came to me, he was much stronger than an ordinary Dark Meanian, and then I noticed how he was stronger," Shaun's hands gripped the edges of his seat. "it came to my realisation that he was possessed, but not that kind of possession. It was something else."
"What is it?" Salvador folded his arms.
"At first it seemed to anyone that he was possessed, but as I was held captive and observing his behaviour, that's where I knew there was something more dangerous and sinister going on with him." Shaun exhaled as he began to shake.
"Someone powerful is passing a clone of their spirit to that Dark Meanian's body, using him to carry their bidding. And that heavily affects the Dark Meanian's morals which brings out the evil side of that man, causing him to get out of control with his goals," he added fearfully.
"So you're saying that Blarence is being a host? And that possession process is making him lose control over his goals?" Darvin revised what his friend said.
Shaun nodded.
"What's worse is that both the man and the spirit's personalities will be mixed and their behaviour will be more erratic and deadly if that clone spirit kept possessing him, there is a high possibility that if we don't do something about it the host will become a destructive beast! A BEAST THAT WE CANNOT STOP!" Shaun then inhaled the air after he screamed the last few words.
"Is there a way we can stop it before it happens?" Salvador asked, brows narrowing in serious concern.
"There is one way if he's captured and held, we need to use--"
"Exorcism," Red said. "and we need to start the procedure, right, now."
"Finally! An answer to our mess!" Fearian groaned loudly in the back, raising an index finger in the air.
