"Chanyeol, you're insane. There's no way this will work out well."
Chanyeol rolled his eyes, "I recall a certain Baekhyun, my supposed best friend, promising to support me in everything."
Baekhyun sighed in exasperation. "I was 8, and I also promised you that I'd marry you, but you're not holding me to that."
"Because it doesn't benefit me. Come on Baek, who else am I gonna do this with? You're my best friend. I can't do this without you."
"You can't do this at all! Come on, you can't make a gang."
"I didn't say gang, I said... Organization."
"You can call it a bloody book club if you want, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a gang."
"It's really not. Come on, do you remember high school? There were groups of people that held a certain superiority. When they walked, people stopped and stared. But it was never us. No, we struggled throughout school. We were never the ones to be envied. We never had power. Don't you want that?"
"No, I don't," but you do, so I'm stuck with following you, like always. "What exactly do you plan to do?"
"Well, I figure first, we go...."
--
"Hey, XingXing?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you think I'm insufferable?"
"Of course not." Yixing stopped looking at the night sky, rolling over on the blanket, turning to face his best friend with a look of concern. "What is this about?"
Daye scowled, "nothing. You know I don't care about scummy, ash lunged giants."
"Well, that was specific."
They shared a laugh, and Daye lay back to stare at the sky.
"XingXing?"
"Yes Daye?" Yixing frowned, "I wish your name could be shortened easier. I can't say DaDa-"
"Why not?" Daye wiggled her eyebrows, grinning impishly.
"Because you're not my dad. How about YeYe?"
"It sounds like you're saying yesyes."
Yixing pouted, "you don't like it?"
"On the contrary. I'd love to think that the first thing people think when they see me is 'yes, yes.' Besides, if you do it, I love it XingXing."
"Stop trying to make me fall for you."
Daye snorted, "you know, I don't know why we do this. We can't even see many stars here."
"We were supposed to be looking at the stars?"
Daye paused, "I suppose not. It's good to get this fresh air. You know, breathe in that fine dust and everything."
Yixing grunted, standing up before holding a hand out to help Daye up.
"Hey, you know I love you, but if you live with me you have to pay rent, hotshot."
"It's too late now, I'll go home tomorrow," Yixing smiled, "probably."
