Daye pulled off her vest, exiting the convenience store as her shift finally ended. She would stop at home to change before going to her other 'job' performing.
A couple of coworkers had offered to drive her home, as they had previously done, but she had assured them she was okay.
Daye was grateful for what had happened last month. Sure, the deaths weren't exactly something to cheer about, but the fact that the most dangerous gangs were finally gone was a godsend. Daye had the freedom to roam the town, and she was finally safe to perform again. She cursed anyone who would try to mess that up for her.
It was only her second week performing again, since she was just now finally feeling comfortable walking outside at night. It had taken a while for her to fully realize that it was safe, that everything had actually happened.
She kept the newspaper article announcing the deaths of the Double Dragon and Bangtan taped to her wall, so she could look and it and know that she had the freedom of the night again.
There would always be people up to no good, but they were nothing compared to the monsters that used to roam the streets.
As she made it to her complex, she remembered last night, and her thoughts traveled to the mysterious boy. As she had climbed the stairs and entered her apartment, her mind was stuck on him. As she had changed, she wondered about him, and what he was like. And now, once again she was obsessing over his existence.
The thoughts quickly dissipated as her alarm went off, and she hurried out of her apartment. Running late, she decided to use the elevator. However, when she arrived, someone else was already there.
Not a problem, they could both fit, it wasn't a big deal.
"Tch, I don't want to use the elevator with such a low grade. Get out."
Well, never mind then.
She recognized the boy from last night. "Excuse me? You're just another druggie, and you're insulting me? Who do you think you are, the king of the world?"
"Precisely. And you are a street kid, worse than the dirt under my shoes."
"Well take it, your highness," Daye stepped out, figuring she'd rather walk the 4 floors rather than deal with this egomaniac. "I hope it breaks down on you, ya fucker."
Chanyeol lunged forward, but he got stuck between the elevator doors, and Daye scurried away, laughing all the way down the stairs.
It faded away when she exited the stairwell, facing the now very pissed off boy from her floor.
"What do you want?" Daye should be scared, as he looked tempted to shove her down the entrance stairs, but she was infamous for running that mouth of hers.
"I want you to move out. I'm feeling generous, so you can have a few days to find a new place."
Daye snorted; was this guy serious? He must be high and delusional, thinking he could order someone around like that, and her no less. He needed a serious reality check, and Daye accepted that she may be the one tasked to do it.
"Listen mister, I don't care if you're filthy rich - which I seriously doubt, if you're living here - you try talking to me like that one more time, and I'll drop kick you."
There was hesitation in his eyes, and Daye knew he wasn't sure whether he believed her. She smirked, more than happy to demonstrate, so he would find out.
"How do you live with yourself, knowing that you're such low quality?"
"Low quality, really? What am I, a phone? Seriously, this guy," Daye stared around the lobby, exhaling loudly. This idiot was really bringing down her good vibes, and she didn't appreciate it one bit.
"You're not useful enough to be a phone."
"Woah, you're really pissing me off. I don't care who you are, I don't care if you fucking own this place, you've really gotta check that bad attitude. You must be great at parties, wah, who does this prick think he is?"
"I'm Park Chanyeol, and you better remember it." He looked so confident, as if Daye actually cared what his name was. She would call him asshole, and other variants, and there was nothing he could do about that.
"I'm Pork Chanyell, blah blah, look at me, I'm a piece of shit." Daye made low, annoying sounds, her lips pulled up in irritation.
"Your hearing is as bad as your face."
Daye shook her head, aghast. He really had no idea how repulsive he was, did he? "Wow, this guy is getting on my nerves," she mumbled, rolling her eyes.
Daye opted to walk away before her night was irreparably ruined. She made fun of Chanyeol the entire walk, doing bad impressions of his voice, and butchering his name more and more with each phrase.
And Chanyeol ran back to his apartment, cancelling on his friend so he could sulk.
