💝Valentines Day💝

LUCY

I yawned, swiping at the hair covering my face. The morning light was streaming through my window, casting a silver and green hue across my floor. The ghost jar sat like it always did in the morning, on the window sill.
"Good morning sleepy head!" I said merrily.
"Morning you old grump." I grunted, rolling of the warm covers.
"Oh, woke up on the wrong side of the bed I see..." It chuckled.
"Shut up." I closed the bathroom door, and turning on the shower.

~~~~~~~~~~ time skip~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once fully clothed I grabbed my watch. 7 O'clock. Early for me. I was wearing a simple grey T-shirt and jeans. A lazy day outfit as my sister Mary would call it. I opened my door stopping dead in my spot. I bent down. There, right out side me door, lay a red rose. I picked it up inspecting it.
The rose was quite beautiful, but what stopped me was the pink rose laying feet away. Holding the red rose I began towards the pink rose. When I got there I inspected the stairs. Every 4th step held a rose. By the time I reached the bottom I had two red, one pink, an orange, and a white rose. Then, feet away, lay another orange rose. I chucked.
Who did this? George, a triple helping of no. Holly, no. Highly unlikely. That left Lockwood... I followed the trail down to the kitchen, where I found a massive overload of different colored roses, rose petals, pink hearts, pink confetti, and a single white card, covered in little heart stickers. When closer inspected I found it was a letter.
Dear Lucy,
Meet me at rosewood park at noon, by the water fountain in the center of the park.
                                  Love, Lockwood❤️
Love Lockwood? Was this a... date? Adrenaline pumped through me. My heart did backflips. I heard the front door open, then shut with a loud bang. I paid almost no attention to it. I just continued to stare at the card.
"What in the world happened!?" I heard Holly shriek. I looked up at her, then passes her the card. When she finished she was grinning like a mad man.
"Omg this is adorable! We have to get you a dress, oh and some shoes! I could do your hair! We could even-"
"Holly! Calm down," I chuckled. "While I do admit I do need your help, I need to lay down some rules."
"Oh yes of course."
"No make up."
"What? Really?! I mean, come on Lucy think-"
"Nope! No make up." I smiled. She shook her head. "Fine." She sighed.
"Ok, two. No ridiculously high heels."
"Ok." She was bouncing up and down, really to drag me to the door at any moment.
"Thats about it I sup- AGHH!!" She had grabbed my arm and hauled me to the door. So out the door we went, and down to the nearest dress shop we knew.
"Oh Lucy!" She gasped. I stepped out of the dressing room wearing, god what number dress was this? I stopped counting after I ran out of fingers.
I'll admit, it was nice. It was a short red dress, sleeveless and kinda tight. I looked at myself, and a very happy Holly, for some time in the mirror.
"I like this one." And it wasn't at all expensive.
"Oh Lucy, it fit you so well!" She began fixing my hair, fluffing it up, pushing it this way and that. I kept staring at the girl in the mirror, that was me.
"I can't believe im wearing a dress." Holly laughed.
"Well, we all have to jump out side our comfort zone every now and then right?" She glanced at me.
I made a circle with my hands.
"This, Holly, is my comfort zone. This," I pointed towards the other side of the room. "Is where this situation lies."
"Oh quit being so dramatic," she spun me around, giving a huge hug. "Im so happy he finally asked you. Now go take that off and we can pay for it-"
"What do you mean, he finally asked me?"
"Oh, well, Lockwood has umm... liked you for some time now. Im surprised you didnt see that. He... he was a reck after you left. We tried to help him, but he was... unstable. When Marrisa Fittes (spoilers for TCS) asked us where you were, he found it hard to say that you left. We all found it hard to say that you left. But, by the end of the meeting, Lockwood was jumping with joy, he couldn't wait to see you again. So he, just left." She smiled sadly at me then.
"He really does love you. You should have heard him after the Cannibol case. He was ecstatic. Wouldn't shut up about, well, you."
"Yes but why he. You know him, he could practically have any girl in London, why me."
"He doesn't know every girl in London, Lucy. And through time I suppose he just, fell in love with you."
"Im hard to love Holly"
"You really, really don't need to tell me that." She chuckled.
"So, its 11. Let get you dolled up!"
I was practically running to the park. My heart was pumping with anticipation, adrenaline, and pure happiness. Oh I feel so cliché.
I was slowing my pace. Taking my time to the water fountain. There were plenty of couples walking about. Having a good time.
Apparently, I arrived there first. So I sad down at a near by bench and waited. And waited. And waited. I began to doubt where I was. Maybe I was at the wrong fountain, but thats when I seen him.
Pale faced and all out of sorts. He held a Bouquet of roses, they were red. He saw me and smiled sheepishly. I stood and walked to him.
"Im so sorry, I lost track of time and then my tux went missing at the cleaners and all the roses at the shop were gone, probably thanks to me the night before, but then the-"
"Lockwood." He stopped, seeming to hold his breath.
"Breath." He took a deep breath.
"Umm, well. These are for you." He handed me the roses. I blushed madly. He bent forward, pecking my cheek.
"Happy Valentine's Day." He whispered. I felt his fingers interlock with mine. Then we were walking side by side.
"Why all the flowers?" I laughed.
"I didn't really know what I was doing. I just knew I had to make it really, romantic. George helped after I lit a rose of fire with the candle I bought." I thought back to this morning.
"There weren't any candles of the table."
"I know. George threw them out. Said he wasn't going to let the house burn down because of a flower." He chuckled. I couldn't help but laugh.
"I really like your dress. It suits you." He was blushing harder than me.
"Oh th- thank you." He stopped.
I looked forward, my jaw dropping. Not twenty feet away, stood Quill Kipps and George Cubbins. Holding. Hands.
Needless to say we turned around and ran. Now twenty minutes later we were strolling though the wooded part of the park.
"Lucy?" I heard Lockwood ask.
"Hmm?"
"Do you think, umm, do you want, umm no, would you like to be my, umm well my uh, girl...friend." He squeaked the last bit out. I stopped, making him turn towards me.
"Wait, really?"  He smiled
"Please?" I blushed, heat spreading through my face, down to my neck.
"Yes! Yes, I would that would be... amazing, yes." He drew out a long breath. His hand dropped mine, coming up and cupping my face. He came close, really close. His warmth pulsed through me, making me heat up more. His forehead rest on mine, I closed my eyes. In one dip and swoop of his head our lips connected. I gasped, moaned, and leaned further in. Dropping the roses I grabbed his coat, pulling him impossibly close. His hands fell to my waist, gripping tightly like I would run at any minute. My hands tangled into his hair. He moaned. The sound sent a shock of want through me. I need more of him. He was like a drug and I couldn't get enough.
He backed me into a tree, kissing me till we needed breath. He muzzled into the crook of my neck, kissing my collarbone. My breath hitched. I pulled him closer. He broke away, then pulled me too him, rocking us. I laid my head of his chest, closing my eyes. This nee contact felt so good, I felt like I was floating.
"Lets go eat, theres a nice restaurant on the corner of 32 Wicker Road. How does that sound?"
"Very nice, but I want to be alone." He chuckled, low and teasing. He knew the grip he had on me, on my heart. Tilting my chin up, he kissed my lips, once, twice, three times. He lingered with each. Every time he would try to slow the kiss, I would nip and bite and his bottom lip, pushing deeper.
"You dropped these." He said when he finally broke apart. He handed me my roses, smiling. Then with one arm now wrapped around my waist, we began walking the trail again.
