Lucy Can Sing?
(A/N: Thank you for all of the feedback! I'm going to be using Eye of The Tiger by Survivor in this one shot. This might not be as funny/good as the first one, though. I rushed to finish this early on Saturday because I had a sleepover at a friend's house and just got home... Well, that's enough about me! And Happy Reading!)
Disclaimer: Am I Jonathan Stroud? (looks in mirror) No, I am not. Am I a member of Survivor? (looks in mirror) No, I'm not that either. So I do not own Lockwood and Co. or Eye of the Tiger.
Lucy was practicing her rapier skills on Esmeralda while singing a song in her head that she heard the other day. She instantly fell in love with the song, an hadn't stopped singing it since(in her head, of course). The song sort of helped her concentrate when she was fighting off ghosts, so that was another good thing about it. Since Lockwood and George were out of the house, she decided to sing while practicing.
"Rising up, back on the street, did my time, took my chances."
Lucy then began to develop a rhythm when stabbing at Esmeralda.
"Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet, just a man and his will to survive."
Lucy then started to slice Esmeralda.
As Lucy got further into the song, her moves became more complicated.
"They stack the odds still we take to the street for the kill with the skill to survive."
She was now doing many complicated twists and turns, all the while stabbing and slicing Esmeralda, and now Joe, too.
I'm glad no one is here to hear me sing or to see this. Especially Lockwood, I would practically die! Lucy thought. But little did she know that Lockwood had entered the house just moments ago, and was now leaning against the doorframe, watching her.
Wow, she's good. And she sings so well... I'll just watch for now and and tell her later to avoid disrupting her. Lockwood thought.
Lucy then finally finished the song, and ceased stabbing the rag dolls.
"Bravo!" Lockwood said, clapping and walking towards her. "That was brilliant! Where did you learn to do all of that?"
"Do what? And when did you get here?" Lucy asked, suddenly red.
"All of those complicated moves and sing so well, what else?"
"Umm... I sort of just moved in tune with the song, and I don't sing that good." Lucy responded. "Now, when did you get here?"
"You seemed to be somewhere in the middle of the song. Also, yes you do sing that good! And you were so focused and prett-"
WHAT? WHY DID I SAY THAT?... Sure, she did look pretty, her dark eyes speckled with hazel and green flakes, staring fiercely at the dummies, and the way she gracefully moved, successfully doing all of those complicated moves... Wait... NO! WHAT AM I THINKING?
"Um... I mean..." Lockwood stammered, heat spreading over his cheeks.
Did he just almost call me pretty? Wow... That's... Wow... Wait... This is Lockwood were talking about. He surely couldn't have meant it! Should I ask? No, maybe I should just leave it alone... But if I do, then I'll never know! After all, I do like him, and if he likes me, and I don't ask, I'll never know how he feels about me! Okay, I guess I'll ask.
"...Lockwood?"
"What I mean is- oh, yes?" Lockwood said, still stammering a bit.
"Did you just-"
"Just what? I didn't say anything! What are you talking about? I don't think I recall ever calling you that." Lockwood said, flustered.
"Lockwood, I didn't even ask the question! Are you okay?"
"Well- I- uh... Oh... Wait... What did you just say?"
"I asked if you were alright."
"Oh. Yes, I'm fine, just... Slightly frazzled." Lockwood lied. Well, technically, it wasn't a lie, but the way he meant it was a lie.
"Okay, if you say so..."
"Huh? Yeah... I'm okay..." Lockwood muttered.
"Now," Lucy said, "can I ask you another question?" Lucy asked.
"Ummm... Sure?" Lockwood was now slightly scared and slightly curious of what she would ask.
"Did you or did you not just almost call me pretty?"
"Ummm..... No?" Lockwood said.
"Don't lie. I want you to tell me the truth." Lucy said.
"Okay, alright... Yes. Yes I did almost call you pretty... But I was only speaking the truth." Lockwood mumbeled the last bit.
"And why did you almost call me that?" Lucy said.
"Well... I- it's really- I-..." Lockwood kept cutting himself off with his stammering.
"Tell. Me." Lucy demanded. "Tell me why."
"...I called you that because you are..."
"Lockwood... I-"
"And I'm not ashamed. You are very pretty. You have beautiful dark eyes, speckled with green and hazel flecks, you have lovely-"
"Lockwood-" Lucy was starting to feel heat spread throughout her cheeks.
"Hair, you have such amazing talent-"
"LOCKWOOD!"
"Oh?"
"When-"
"A very long time."
"Which is.....?"
"Longer than you would think."
"I don't-"
"The first case we were on, that's when I realized. I told you, a very long time."
"What if I told you... I think you're very handsome." Lucy said, now staring down at her shoes so that Lockwood wouldn't see her blushing.
"Luce-"
"Your gigawatt smile, the way your-"
"Lucy-" Now Lockwood was blushing.
"Rapier hangs elagantly from your belt, the energy you always- well, usually, have-"
"Lucy-"
Neither one of them knew, but George was standing behind them, and he even got the whole thing on video, so that he could watch them confess their love for each other whenever he wanted. Quickly, he put the camera away so that they would never know, and walked in.
"So, you've done it."
If it was possible, Lucy and Lockwood's cheeks became even redder than before.
"I haven't the slightest idea-" Lucy began, only to be cut off by George.
"Save it, Lucy. I heard everything, and I mean everything."
"Everything?" Lucy questioned. "How could you have heard everything?"
"I walked into the house, then I walked down here, and then I heard everything. Duh." George said slowly, as if she was a toddler who didn't understand a thing.
"Did you hear me sing?" Lucy asked.
"Wait, what!? You actually sang?" George said in disbelief. "Lucy Carlyle, sang!?No, no you didn't, that's a lie... Isn't it?"
"I heard it with my own two ears." Lockwood said cheerfully. "Now, if you'll excuse me-"
"No." Lucy said, holding onto his arm. "No. You are not going anywhere until you say it."
"Say what?" Lockwood asked.
"What did you not allow yourself to call me? I want you to say it to my face."
"Which one? I've always wanted to call you a lot of things. Among the list is annoyingly beautiful, the prettiest girl I've ever seen," Lockwood then muttered "my girlfriend..."
And even though it seemed as if Lucy's cheeks couldn't have become any more red, they did.
"Lockwood, I- do you- do you really mean that?"
"Well duh, Lucy. Of course he means it!"
"George, will you ever shut up?" Lucy scowled.
"No, I don't think so." George said, matter of factly.
"Well, then could you, possibly, oh, well, I don't know, get out?" Lucy said, irritated.
"No, I don't think I will." George retorted.
Lockwood tried to slip out unnoticed, but of course, Lucy caught him.
"Oh no you don't!" Lucy said, scaring the wits out if Lockwood.
"Okay..." Lockwood said as he walked back to where he was standing and watched George and Lucy argue and throw insults at each other.
"Why you little-"
"Ooohhh!!! Are you going to pay, for that one, Cubbins!"
Every once in a while, Lockwood would even throw in his own humorous little opinions.
"George, you better sleep with one eye open and watch you're back!" Lockwood said. "That was really not a good idea..." He muttered.
A short while later, Lockwood got fed up with them fighting, and it was getting a bit out of hand, with Lucy drawing her rapier and George on the other end. So Lockwood interjected during one of Lucy's insults.
"HEY, LISTEN UP! IF YOU TWO DON'T SHUT UP RIGHT NOW, THEN YOU'RE BOTH FIRED! UNDERSTAND?" Lockwood yelled.
Lucy nor George had never seen Lockwood so angry before and so they ceased their fighting.
"Yes, sir." Lucy barely whispered.
George could only nod his head, the poor thing...
"Now," Lockwood said, his normal demeanor back, "let's see what has happened it the past, oh, I don't know, thirty minutes... Lucy and I confessed are hidden feelings for each other, and then-" Lockwood was suddenly cut off by Lucy.
"And then George came in and simply ruined everything." Lucy finished.
"Did not!" George said.
"DID TO!" Lucy yelled.
"FIRED! YOU'RE BOTH GOING TO GET YOURSELVES FIRED!" Lockwood yelled again, so that the fighting would end before anything too nasty happened.
"Now, before anyone can say anything else..." Lockwood said, stepping closer and closer to Lucy.
"I just want do do something." Lockwood said, now standing right next to Lucy and gathering his courage.
Lockwood then kissed Lucy on the lips, bringing them both the most pleasant sensation. Lucy felt as if she were on a cloud, and Lockwood felt as if he were surrounded by smiley giraffes. All the while, George was still in the room, mouth slightly hanging open, video camera in his hand.
"There." Lockwood said, blushing madly.
What... Just... Happened? Lucy thought. One minute, I'm yelling at George, the next... Lockwood's kissing me... Wait... LOCKWOOD JUST KISSED ME!!! YAY!!!! I COULD JUST BURST!!!
Did I just... I'VE DONE IT!!! I'VE KISSED LUCY CARLYLE!!!! I FEEL SO ACCOMPLISHED!!!! YES!!! Lockwood thought.
"That was..." Lucy began. "Amazing..."
"It was sensational..." Lockwood muttered.
George slipped out of the room to grab another roll of film, just in case.
"Are we... Official?" Lockwood muttered so that only Lucy could hear.
"Are we?" Lucy asked.
DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! DO ITTTTTTT!!!!! George mentally screamed.
"Lucy?" Lockwood asked.
"Yes?" Answered Lucy, still slightly in a trance.
"Do you want to...?" Lockwood trailed off.
"Do you?" Lucy asked.
"If you do, then sure, but if not..." Lockwood trailed off again.
"Well, if you're ready..." Lucy said.
George quickly put the camera away so that he could say something.
"Stop all of this 'well, if you want to, okay, but if not, okay' nonsense, of course you two obviously do! I can, no, everyone can tell you two like each other! It's so obvious!" George said.
"Okay then..." Lockwood said, giving Lucy one of his gigawatt smiles that gave her butterflies.
Lucy was now smiling largely, just like a little girl who just got a pet unicorn.
Lucy then leaned into Lockwood.
"I've been waiting for this moment forever." She whispered.
"And so have I." Lockwood muttered.
And neither of them ever found out that George got whole thing on video.
(A/N: Ta- Daaaaaa!!!!! So, how did you like it? Tell me in the comments!... Or don't... That's fine, too...)
