Chapter 1

Chapter 1

●●●

Taehyung had never been too fond of vampires. Many weren't. No matter how ‚friendly' vampires nowdays supposedly were, there were quite a lot of sceptics and Taehyung certainly was one of them.

Though he tried his best not to let it show. He wasn't the type to pick fights or have enemies. Throughout his daily life he usually just avoided vampires for the most part and when he ended up talking to one he at least tried to be polite. Maybe not exactly friendly, but polite.

But as one knows, the exception proves the rule and there was one vampire Taehyung just couldn't help clashing with.

Jeon Jungkook. Taehyung had no idea when exactly it had started. After he had transferred to this school he had just slowly started butting heads with Jungkook more and more. Now, two years later, he absolutely despised that guy.

Everything he stood for. Everything he was.

But because of their awesome relationship to one another they also often got in trouble. Which was exactly what happened when their PE teacher had sent them to clean the shed in which they stored the sports equipment after they had once again gotten into a huge fight with one another.

"If you had just passed me that fucking ball we wouldn't have lost." Jungkook grumbled from where he was sitting on the floor, tying jump ropes together.

"I didn't even see you. There are other players too, you know?" Not bothering to check if Jungkook was done, Taehyung wrung out the wiping cloth, put it away and then walked towards the door.

He wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. After all it wasn't like he intentionally started fights with Jungkook.

He actually tried to avoid him, but it just happened.

"I'm done here. I'll tell her, so just leave when you're done." He grabbed the door handle and pushed, but nothing happened. He pushed again, trying to get the door to open, but it didn't even budge. After another couple of times of trying the handle he gave up turning, around to Jungkook, who didn't mind him, his hands quickly working over the ropes, his back facing Taehyung.

"Jungkook. I can't open the door. I think it's stuck."

Jungkook turned around, raising an eyebrow before smirking cheekily. Taehyung really wanted to hit him.

"Weak."

Taking his time to get up and dust off his pants Jungkook walked over to Taehyung, who moved to the side, crossing his arms over his chest. God, he hated Jungkook's attitude. It was like the guy always acted superior.

So when Jungkook tried to open the door and it didn't move for him either, Taehyung couldn't help but feel the tiniest bit of satisfaction. Jungkook tried again, pushing harder, roughly moving the handle up and down a couple of times, but the door didn't move. "What the..." He pushed his shoulder against it. Nothing.

"It's locked."

It took Taehyung a couple of seconds to register that that was not amusing, even if Jungkook didn't manage to open the door either. If the door was actually locked that was pretty bad. Actually, like one of the things Taehyung had kept imagining whenever he stayed in his class when he was staying late. Being locked in at school.

But it was a bit too early to panic. So instead he glanced around the room, searching for the window. There was one, just big enough to crawl through. Bingo.

Taehyung walked over, feeling Jungkook's eyes on his back. In order to reach the window he had to climb onto a pile of gym mats and almost lost his balance, but he wasn't going to trip over his own feet in front of Jungkook. The vampire would never let him live that down.

"What are you doing?" He ignored Jungkook's question and tried the window too.

To his dismay the window was locked just like the door. When he turned around to Jungkook, the boy seemed annoyingly calm, which kind of helped Taehyung stay calm because there was no way he'd let himself be the guy to panic.

"The window is locked too. We should call someone." He reached down for his pockets only to realize that he wasn't wearing his jeans. They were both still in sports attire.

"Don't have my phone on me either." Jungkook stated flatly, pushing his hands into his pockets. Taehyung groaned. This was actually starting to look kind of bad for them. But if there was one thing he was sure of it was that he had no intentions of spending the night here with Jungkook. No way. The last thing he was going to do was sleep in the presence of a vampire who could decide to take a sip any second. Especially not Jungkook.

"Why are you so cool with this? Want to spend the night in here?" he asked, crossing his arms over his chest. It pissed him off that Jungkook was so calm while he could feel himself almost panicking.

Jungkook shrugged his shoulder, once again making that smile that looked nothing like a genuine smile but more like he was making fun of him. "I'm calm because I think it's pretty funny that you got us locked in here."

Taehyung furrowed his brows. "How was that my fault? You were the one who purposely tripped me earlier."

Jungkook crossed his arms over his chest. "After you let them have the ball to shoot me. We were on the same team, you know?"

Taehyung groaned, exasperated that he kept having fights over things like this with Jungkook. It was like his classmate was a child and not a vampire who was probably older than he was. "I didn't do that on purpose. Just like I didn't intentionally not pass to you."

"Yeah, I totally believe you." Jungkook's voice was dripping in sarcasm. "Just like you weren't the one who pushed me. That was my imagination, too, wasn't it?"

"You tripped me!" Taehyung groaned, not wanting to have this conversation. He knew it wouldn't lead anywhere. "We're locked in here either way, no matter which one of us caused it, so how about we look for a key instead of fighting? They might have a spare lying around somewhere. At least for the window." He climbed off the pile again.

Jungkook said something, but Taehyung wasn't listening anymore, instead focusing on searching one of the shelves for something like a key.

Of course they didn't find anything and it started getting darker outside. Luckily there was a light switch next to the door and at least the lighting worked. After checking practically everywhere Taehyung sat back down on the pile of mats while Jungkook leaned against one of the corners of the room.

"I can't believe you got us locked in here." Jungkook muttered under his breath and Taehyung rolled his eyes but decided not to say anything this time. After that they just sat there in silence.

After what could have been ten minutes but also two hours Jungkook suddenly snapped his head towards Taehyung, startling the shit out of him because of how quiet it had been before. "Shit!"

"What?" Taehyung asked, confused at Jungkook's sudden outbreak.

"It's Friday. No one will come here tomorrow either."

Taehyung's heart skipped a beat before suddenly starting to beat twice as fast as it had before, a small burst of adrenaline coursing through his system. "What are we supposed to do?"

Jungkook shook his head, helplessly shrugging his shoulders. "I have no idea." He pressed his lips into a firm line, seemingly wanting to say something else, but then he stopped himself.

Well aware that it was probably useless Taehyung got up again and walked towards the door, trying to push with all his might. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

"It won't open even if you try again." Jungkook commented from behind him and Taehyung just turned around, rolling his eyes.

"I'm aware. At least I'm trying to do something. I really don't want to spend my weekend locked in here with a vampire that frequently drinks blood without people's permission." he snapped, once again pushing against the door, but it was locked firmly. There was no way strength alone was going to get it to open.

When he turned back around Jungkook genuinely looked offended. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to provoke Jungkook, but he was so tense and that guy just annoyed him so fucking much.

"I don't drink anyone's blood without permission." The vampire almost growled, his eyes turning into small slits. Maybe he should have felt scared because Jungkook was stronger than him and there was nowhere he could go, but he was already so used to seeing Jungkook angry that the scariness had long worn off.

"That's not what some of those girls you drank from say."

"Just because they are in denial, doesn't mean they never wanted it. They act like didn't beg me to do it." Jungkook half bragged and Taehyung felt like throwing up. He had never understood why vampires were so fucking proud of getting a human to allow them to drink blood.

It was like a guy showing off how many people he had fucked, just that in a vampire's case the human was always the one who had to deal with the consequences of a vampire bite.

"Yeah, that's absolutely fantastic. Good for you." Taehyung rolled his eyes, going through the shelves in the back again.

"What are you doing?"

"Searching for something similar to a blanket. I know you won't get cold, but I will." He stated before a stupid idea crossed his mind. What if they had a fire blanket?

Aaand they didn't. Taehyung was slowly starting to get cold, so he ended up simply sitting back in the corner of the room on that pile of mats, this time pulling one of the mats on top of himself. Jungkook looked highly amused but didn't say anything.

Another hour (probably) passed and it was oddly calming. The silence of the room. For once not using his phone all the time. It was a bit weird and a tad boring, but he felt himself slip into an almost meditative state... which was interrupted when Jungkook spoke up again.

"I'm bored."

"I'm not." With that he turned back to his thoughts, wondering whether Jimin was going to worry when Taehyung didn't show up to their shared apartment. But he certainly wouldn't call the school. Would probably just assume Taehyung had gone to a club or something and found someone to go home with. Actually, Jimin wasn't going to be too worried even if Taehyung didn't come home the whole weekend.

"Tell me about whatever." Jungkook interrupted his thoughts again and Taehyung buried his face in his hands, sighing.

"Why should I?"

"Because I'm bored. There has got to be something interesting going on in your boring human existence." Jungkook drawled and Taehyung felt like strangling him. He hated how fucking arrogant Jungkook sounded like that.

"Stay bored. I'm not here for your amusement."
