5) Dusk

The roaring wind with trees in sway

The current fast, on its way

The water gleams where my finger lay,

The sun beaming joyfully, I'd wished for it to stay.

But many things don't follow your will

The soothing river, across the mill

Moving lower, downwards the hill

The hysterical wind moving in to kill.

It wasn't me whom the river sought,

It was something else I saw it caught

The river swallowing a huntress, but she still fought;

She couldn't give up; I knew she could nought.

I jumped in when she was about to drown,

A deserved fighter, complexion brown;

Embarrassed for the help, a nostalgic frown

Soaked in the wet, with a river weed crown.

The storm passed out, a memorable day

"Where had you been?", I managed to say

"Been hunting down there," replied she, in a startled way

"Take care, I'm running late", was all I had to say;

But who knew after then that I had chosen to stay...
