Chapter 4

I woke up the next morning, immediately beginning to panic. Frankie always comes to wake me up as soon as he wakes up. But today he never came and it was nearly ten. Frankie is always in here by eight.

"Fuck," I muttered, jumping out of bed.

I ran to his room, throwing the door open to find it empty.

"Fuck," I cursed, looking around. "Frankie!"

My mind traveled to the worst places. I kept thinking about everyone I made enemies with, how much they would love to get their hands on Frankie to torture him in revenge for me.

I ran into the kitchen, finding Frank sitting at the counter, talking with Jamia. They looked at me, both their eyebrows raised. I let out a breath of relief, leaning against the door frame.

"Good morning," Frank said.

"Morning," I replied, catching my breath as I sat down beside him.

"What were you doing?" He asked.

"You didn't wake me up and I just got scared for you," I said.

"Oh, I'm sorry, daddy," he said.

I nodded, looking over at him with furrowed eyebrows.

"Not in little space, huh?" I guessed and he nodded. "Do you want to be?"

"No, I'm okay being big for now, just for a little bit," he said

"Alright, well, what does big you like to do?" I asked.

"Well, I've been waiting to eat breakfast with you," he said.

I smiled, watching Jamia cooking. She set down plates in front of us full of eggs and toast.

"Well, I have to work for a little bit, can you keep yourself entertained?" I asked.

He nodded and I took my plate with me into my office to read the files Brendon had given me. It was weird not having Frank attached to my hip 24/7, and I have to admit that I missed it. Frankie was definitely a clingy little but I surprisingly didn't mind. Normally I hate little boys who are hanging onto my side but Frankie was just so damn cute.

"Daddy!" Someone called.

The door opened and Frank stood there. He hugged Cleo to his chest and I could tell he was back in little space. He sat on my lap, cuddling against me as he smiled. I read over the paper, looking at all the information.

"What are you doing?" He asked curiously.

I covered the paper as he tried to look and he scowled.

"Daddy," he whined. "I wanna see too."

"Nuh uh, princess, this is for big boys," I denied.

"I'm a big boy," he said.

"Oh, you're a big boy?" I asked and he nodded. "Okay, I guess if you're a big boy then you don't wanna go to the aquarium."

His eyes widened as he looked at me in panic.

"Because big boys don't like aquariums," I stated.

"No, daddy, I'm a little boy," he insisted. "I'm just a little baby boy."

I smiled, running my hand through his hair as I kissed his forehead.

"Good boy," I muttered. "Now, you go get dressed and we can go."

Frankie hurried out to get changed as I followed slowly. I got dressed into a pair of black slacks with a black button up, black and white tie, and black jacket. The door opened and Frank came in. He was wearing white denim shorts that were very short. He had a pastel purple sweater with white knee high socks and pastel purple converse. He had bought so many clothes to fill his walk in closet, and he had sweaters and shoes in just about every color to ever exist.

"Let's go!" He cheered.

"Just a minute, baby boy," I said.

I grabbed my pistol, putting it into the back waistband of my pants.

"Grab your backpack, put anything you'll need in it," I said. "We're gonna be out for a little while."

He nodded and I followed him to his room. He grabbed his small white canvas backpack with little pink flowers on them. Frankie put in Cleo and his paci. He made sure to pack some snacks and juice boxes before he was finally ready.

I held his hand, going down to get into my Jag. Frank held onto my hand as we drove, looking out excitedly. He sang along to the music on the radio, kissing my cheek every now and then.

"How long until we get there?" He asked.

"Just under an hour," I said.

Frankie pouted, crossing his arms.

"You never said it was so far," he whined.

"Be good," I said. "I will take you home if you act bratty and put in time out."

"No, daddy, I'll be good," he promised.

I smiled, kissing his hand.

"Can I have one of my snacks right now?" He asked.

"Yeah, that sounds fine," I said.

Frankie smiled, opening his animal crackers. He ate happily, reaching over to feed me too. Soon enough we pulled up and thankfully it wasn't very busy on this Tuesday. Frank jumped out of the car when I barely even had a chance to put it in park. He opened my door, tugging on my hand.

"Daddy, let's go look at the fishies!" He exclaimed.

I smiled, grabbing the keys. I followed him inside, talking to the lady at the front.

"How much?" I asked.

"Well, would you like to go through the tours or just roam around yourselves?" She asked.

"Just ourselves," I stated.

"Two tickets will be $47.32," she said and I handed her my credit card. "Admission is for all day so take this bracelet and you can come and go as you please, the place closes at seven."

She handed us two paper bracelets and I put it on him and put mine on myself.

"Have fun," she said. "There's a cafeteria near the back, most people don't know that so I have to remind them."

"Thank you," I said, holding Frank's hand.

He grabbed a pamphlet that had a map on the way as we entered into the aquarium. Frank kept tugging on my hand every few seconds to show me something. I kept my hand in his as he towed me around.

"Daddy, look at that one!" he said excitedly. "It's neon!"

I smiled, standing behind him as I wrapped my arms around his middle. Frank giggled and I saw his smile in the reflection of the glass.

"Tell me when you're hungry and we'll go get some food," I said.

"If they have candy there can I have it?" He asked hopefully.

"If you're good then maybe we can get you some candy," I said.

Frank smiled, leaning up to kiss my cheek. He held my hand, pulling me down a hall.

"Look daddy, this is where the big fishies are," he said. "Daddy, can we get fishies at home?"

"Maybe some day," I said.

"And we'll get them a great big fish tank and have little plants in them," he said.

I smiled, kissing his forehead.

"Or can we get a puppy?" Frankie asked hopefully. "I love puppies so much."

"We'll talk about it," I stated and he pouted. "Oh, nuh uh, you be good or no candy. I will put you in time out right here."

"Sowwy, daddy," he said.

"It's okay, baby boy," I said, rubbing his back. "But I heard they even have a stingray exhibit."

He gasped, nodding excitedly. We looked on the map and found our way to the large room. There was a sort of pond in the middle that went up just above our knees. People stood around looking at them and even petting them as they swam by.

"Can I pet too, daddy?" He asked.

"Sure, just be careful," I said. "I don't think they sting but who knows if they bite, might just pull you in."

He giggled, going to the side of the pond. Frankie reached in to touch one as it quickly swam away. He pulled his hand out, giggling happily.

"Look, daddy, they're racing!" He exclaimed, pointing to two who were swimming fast along the edge of the pond.

As they got around to our side, one of the stingrays lifted it's fin up above the water before slapping it back down. Water splashed up, hitting Frankie and some people beside him. I immediately saw his lip start quivering as he looked down at himself.

"Oh princess," I muttered, grabbing his hand and quickly pulling him to the bathroom.

He cried, sticking out his tongue.

"It got in my mouth," he whined.

I helped get him cleaned up but he still pouted at his wet sweater. I took off my blazer, wrapping it around his shoulders so it could hang off his small frame.

He sniffled quietly, wiping the tears from his face.

"Hey, princess, how about we go see if they have any ice cream in the cafeteria?" I suggested.

Frankie nodded sadly, holding my hand. We got to the cafeteria and stood in line. I ordered frank some vanilla ice cream and we sat at one of the tables.

"Daddy, are you sure you don't want some?" He offered, holding his spoon out to me.

"I'm okay, princess," I said.

Frankie hummed quietly, eating his ice cream. It was a little after one at this point, almost nearing two. Frank's head drooped as he rested it in his hand and I chuckled softly.

"Hey, beautiful, let's get you home so you can take a nap," I said.

Frankie picked his head up and shook his head.

"Not sleepy," he mumbled. "I wanna stay here."

"We can come back later," I said. "Or another day, I think it's your nap time right now."

Frank sighed but didn't argue as I held his hand and led him out to the car. He took out Cleo and his paci, cuddling up in the passenger seat and using my jacket as a blanket.

Frank was asleep by the time we got to the house. I picked him up, carrying him up to his room. He whined quietly as I stripped him of his damp clothes.

"Come here, baby boy, let's get some pjs on you," I said.

I helped him step into a clean pair of panties as he was still half asleep but he refused anything after that. He curled up in the bed, pulling me with him as he quickly fell back asleep.
