their method of communication consisted of hand signals and nods at first. they could barely understand each other at all.

chanyeol spoke korean, and minimal english which he had learned for his trip, as well as two or three spanish sentences. all he had to make the deal with her father were documents, which he had gotten translated into spanish during a brief trip to california where there was a small korean settlement of miners.

maria miranda spoke only spanish, but understood some english due to the foreign suitors from up north who would try to court her.

their conversations were short, and vague. but they liked each other and made the effort to communicate.

i wrote a lot of chapters for this story.

i'm not in a very good mood today because mexico lost to sweden and were humiliated. they only passed to the next round because south korea defeated germany. other wise, they owuldn't have passed.

they were doing so well. i wonder what happened.
