"Hey Macy, do you know if Vee's almost here?"

"She said she'd be here soon. She's probably still at school, but my dad went to go pick her up."

"Why don't you call her and see where they're at?" Vee's mom said as she set up the table.

"Ohh okay, good idea. I'll be right back then." I went outside to call her since it was loud inside.

The cold fall air hitting me as I open the door. As I sat down on the bench, I dialled her number. It rang multiple times before someone picked up.

"Hello?" I heard the familiar voice of my best friend.

"Hey, are you guys almost here?"

"Yeah, we just left school. But we gotta stop at Walmart first and buy something."

"Okay, could you also buy some chips? I forgot to buy some earlier."

"Sure, what kind sho- AHHHHH DAD WATCH OUT!"

I gasp as I sit up in my bed, I was sweaty and hot. Tears streaming down my face. It was the 2nd time I had a nightmare this month. Checking the time on my alarm clock. It was 4 am, around the same time I usually get this nightmare.

It was my birthday last year, September 28th to be exact, the day the accident happened. We were having a small party at my place. My close friends were there, my cousin and her boyfriend (they live with me), and Vee's mom and sister who were already there. We were just waiting for Vee and her dad.

It was 8 pm, Vee's dad was picking her up from her college since she didn't have a car. As we were on call, they were hit by a big truck. The driver was drunk and was driving at 150mph.

The driver was going straight and didn't stop at the red light, Vee was going straight on the cross-section when they were hit. They were hit on the passenger's side, which is where Vee was sitting. The car went tumbling and spinning and then hit a lamp post.

Luckily Vee's dad and the drunk driver were fine, but Vee on the other hand was severely injured. She suffered from multiple injuries and she hit her head hard, which led to brain damage and coma.

Now she's been in the hospital for roughly a year. I sometimes wished that I could have done something to help prevent the accident. It makes me angry to think that I could have done something, but wasn't able to.

It hurts me even more that it happened on my birthday. She was so excited to see me since we haven't seen each other in a month due to a busy schedule.

I still remember that day, when I heard it on the news.

"Just right now, a car crash has happened on Lakeview Highway, on the cross-section. A big truck has crashed into a black SUV. We have no idea how many passengers are in the SUV. Paramedics are looking into it right now."

When I heard that it was a black SUV, my heart shattered. That was Vee's dad's car.

Everything was in slow motion. Vee's mom started crying and screaming, some people were crying, some were just stunned still trying to process what was happening. Sitting on the ground, I was crying as I held onto my chest trying not to let my heart burst into a thousand pieces.

"Just now it looks like the driver of the SUV was taken out, and a girl was taken out of the passenger's side. They've been put on stretchers and put into the ambulance. They are heading to Midway Hospital right now."

I was shocked and scared but I managed to gather the courage to go to her. I just wanted to be by her side. I grabbed my car keys and told Vee's mom and sister to come with me to the hospital. Everyone else stayed behind.

Caro was against me going since I was still shocked. But eventually, she let me go.

When we got there, she was rushed into surgery. After the surgery, the doctors came out and told us that Vee wasn't in a stable condition and that she had fallen into a coma.

They say she has very little chance of surviving. That is what completely broke me. I broke down crying and so did Vee's mom and sister.

I got up from my bed and walked to my bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror, my eyes were puffy and my hair was stuck to my face because of the sweat and tears.

Splashing my face with water, I looked at myself in the mirror again. I look terrible. I dried my face with a towel and went back into my room.

I couldn't sleep anymore, not after that dream. Walking over to my window and opening it, I sat down on the bench by the window and let my head out.

The cold start of winter breeze hitting my face. It was October and there was a little snow outside. Here in Canada, snow wasn't something unusual, but I just never seem to get used to it.

It was only 4 am yet there were already quite a few cars driving past on the road, probably heading to work. I listened to the sounds of cars, birds, crickets, and the wind blowing past me. It was cold but I liked it. I rested my head on my arms and looked into the night sky. Staying quiet for a bit, taking it all in.

I sighed. I started talking to myself, an old habit I had.

"Out of all days it had to be today that I got the nightmare. I'm supposed to have a good night's sleep and wake up at 6:30, but now my plans are ruined. I barely got any sleep since I slept at midnight last night, and now I woke up at 4. That's only 4 hours of sleep! I was supposed to have a good day but now it's partly ruined."

I stay silent for a bit, thinking of random things. I looked at my clock for the time again, it's 5.

Well, there's no point in trying to go back to sleep now that it's 5, might as well start getting ready since today is a big day for us.

So basically what I mean by 'big day', is that we are going to Korea for an interview on a show called 'Daily Idol'. And by we, I mean my dance group.

I am a part of a dance group. Called ND Dance Crew. It was formed by my cousin, she started the group after she left her previous dance group.

She started by teaching dance classes for free. Then after a while, she started having a fee per class. She was 18 at the time and I was 16. When I came along to help her, I started by helping her with her classes as a hobby; then after a while, I started taking students of my own.

After a while, we decided to start an official group/team. We held auditions and then our group was formed, and now we have 23 members.

We used to be 24 members but now we are temporarily 23 because Vee can't join us as of now. She was very passionate about dancing, she was always trying her best. She also helped with teaching dances, but sadly she can't be here right now.

I also started the official YouTube channel, which's called ND Studios. We make covers and post them on there. Typically I direct and edit the videos we make, sometimes other members do it. The money that we make from YouTube goes to our group expenses, like outfits for a performance, venues for filming, etc.

My job in the group is as a leader/teacher and I do a lot of the management of lessons and performances.

7 years later, we are doing very well for a self-taught dance team. None of us have had any professional help.

So we got scouted to be on the interview because the producers of the show saw one of our covers that went viral. The cover was IU Good Day. I was 'IU' or should I say, I sang and danced as IU, and the others were "backup dancers". That video got 20 MILLION views in 2 weeks! We were shocked that it got that many views. It was more shocking that we were invited to an interview in Korea.

The company is paying for our FIRST CLASS FLIGHT and Air BnB. We just have to pay for food and personal expenses. And they are letting us stay there for 1 week, that's 3 extra days!

We are very grateful for the opportunity to be able to go to Korea and have most expenses already paid, and be on a famous variety show.

Since it was already 5, I decided to just get ready.

I had already packed all of my stuff the night before, and I already choose an outfit to wear to the airport.

First things first, I'm gonna vlog a little bit.

"Hey guys, good morning! It's currently 5 am, and right now I'm gonna go take a shower and get ready for our flight. You guys already saw in my previous vlog that I packed all of my stuff, so now I just have to get ready. So let's go!"

I turned off my camera and I grabbed my stuff and headed to the shower.

I decided to take a 40 min shower, since I still had a lot of time, I'll just relax for a bit. After showering I got out and changed. I did my makeup and blow-dried my hair, then I put my hair into a ponytail. I decided to dress warm since it is snowing here and in Korea.

I went outside to my room carefully talking around my luggage. Now it's time to double-check and make sure that I have everything.

I have my checklist with me as I looked through my stuff. I checked my luggage making sure I have enough clothes and also toiletries. I put my makeup into my luggage, then I zipped it up.

I checked my backpack and made sure I had my laptop and camera equipment in it. I also checked my purse making sure everything was in it.

I checked everything off my list, EXCEPT FOR ONE THING! I WAS MISSING MY PASSPORT!

I freaked out. I'm running around my room trying to look for it.

It's already 6:54 am and we leave at 7:30 am, I am still not prepared.

I ran to my cousin Caroline's room. She was busy double-checking her stuff.

"Have you seen my passport!?"

She was startled and said, "Yeah I have it right here. I knew you were gonna forget it so I have it with me, and keep it down Henry's still sleeping."

"Ohh right sorry." I smiled cheekily at her. "Do you have everything?"

"Yeah I just finished double checking my things, what about you?"

"I just finished too. I'll go call everyone and see if they're ready."

"Okay, I'll say goodbye to Henry first."

I gave her a thumbs up and I went to my room to get my stuff. I made sure to check my room again before locking it.

I also filmed a little update for my YouTube video.

I called everyone on the phone and they said that they're just about ready. We're going to meet up at the airport.

As I opened the door to the garage, a cold wind hit me, it was chilly in there. I unlocked the car and popped open the trunk. I put all of my stuff in the car and Caro came into the garage with her stuff. I helped her put her stuff into the car and I went to sit in the passenger side.

We're taking Caro's car so we don't have to hassle with 2 cars when we get to the airport.

We made sure again that we have everything, and off we go to the airport. We are now prepared for an 11-hour flight from Canada to Korea!
