A/N: Hey guys sorry for updating really really late again. Also I have published a one shot based on this book. It's called 'Tell them Then', I hope you like it, and no that one shot isn't gonna be included in the book. It was just an idea that kept bothering me. Third Person's POV

"Hayden!" a giggle escaped Astrid's lips.

"Where are you taking me?" She asked.

"We're almost there M'lady, just a few minutes longer. I won't let anything happen to you." Hayden replied with a small grin forming on his lips.

"How am I supposed to know that for sure though? For all I know, you could be taking me out to a middle of a field just to kill me and dump my body somewhere." Astrid said jokingly.

"If I wanted to kill you, don't you think I would've done it by now?" Hayden asked smirking.

"That doesn't really instil me with confidence, Hayden," Astrid said giving Hayden deadpanned look.

"For gods sake women, just follow me. Gods if anyone hear this conversation they'd think we have serious trust issues. Not that I won't agree with them." Hayden responded the smirk not slipping of his face.

Astrid has a love hate relationship with his smirk.

"Hayden, we've been walking for over an hour! How much longer?" Astrid whined.

Not that she really minded the long walk with Hayden. She loved moments with Hayden. She only whined to anoy him, but she knew Hayden would never say anything that would hurt her.

Hayden stopped suddenly causing Astrid to bump into his back.

"Why did we stop? Wait, are we here ?!" Astrid ask as excitement took over her body as she started jumping up and down.

Astrid's POV

"Clam down princess, and no we aren't here, but we are going to blindfold you." Damn that smirk.

Woah, hold up. What?!

"Umm...what? Can you please repeat that for me?" I asked hoping I didn't hear what I thought I heard.

"I said I'm going to blindfold you." He repeated himself as if it wasn't a big deal. Well have I got news for you buddy!

"You know this is how most murders start right? And you say I have trust issues."

Rolling his eye the poo head took a blindfold out of back pocket. I slowly took small steps backwards.

"Get that pretty ass of yours over here Astrid." I'm gonna wipe that smirk of his damn sexy face.

Damn it Astrid! You're supposed to be mad at him not go googly eyes on.

"You've never seen my butt, how do you know it's pretty? Huh?" I asked him with my hands crossed across my chest and my left foot tapping on the floor.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out find out." The idiot said tapping his nose, and that smirk never leaving him.

"Fine, but if I happen to die, just remember its all your fault and tell your parents I said goodbye." I stated with my arm over my eyes and leaning against Hayden.

Chuckling he brought the blindfold to my face and tied it. "There! That wasn't that hard now was it?"

"How am I supposed to know? All I know is that I'm not dead yet." I heard him sigh which probably means that the poo head was rolling his eyes at me.

"For goodness sake woman I'm not going to kill you, but on the way home we might need to check your brain. I want my girlfriend to be mentally stable."

"Ummm...maybe we should go. Obviously, not to check mine, but to get you checked out."

"But baby, you could check me out all you want. We don't nessacarily have to be in a hospital for that." I knew that smirk will be there. What could I do? He had to learn so...

"OWWW!!! What the fuck!"

Yeah, I kicked in his shin. He deserved it. It was the only thing I could possibly do.

"You know why I did it so, lets not dwell on it and move on." He's probably looking at me as if I have grown two heads all of a sudden, but I'm blindfolded so I can be nonchalant all I want. He brought this on himself.

"I try to do something nice once in my lifetime, and this is how I get treated." Okay now I just feel bad.

This is not fair! He can't be mean to me, and make me feel like I'm the bad person here.

Well, he technically didn't do anything bad.

Oh Shut up you!

After what had felt like hours we stopped. Everything was balck, the warmth that came Hayden suddenly dissappered. My heart beat started to pick up when he called someone over.

"Ahh, there you are Hayden, and I see that you've bought your lady friend as well." A deep rough voice spoke.

Calm down Astrid! Hayden wouldn't let anything like that happen to you. Why would you think like that! He loves you!

How do you know that? How can you really be sure? We've been let down before. Many many times.

Listen to yourself, honestly you can't live your life in fear all the time. He isn't here. He's locked away. Forever!

He took everything from me! I can be scared! I'm allowed, but your right Hayden won't let anything happen to us. He cares for us. That much I know.

When I finally stopped, and took in my surroundings I realised that my breathing had increased, and that Hayden had taken the blindfold off.

"Astrid! Astrid!" My hearing came back as the shock slowly wore off, Hayden shouting my name in fear.

Fear. But what is he scared off?

If he didn't care about us he wouldn't be sacred would he?

"Y...yeah." I finally answered after the tightness in my throat left. I can breath again normally.

"Oh thank god, you are okay." He looked exhausted, the fear still in his eyes. How long had I been in shock? When did he take of the blindfold.

"Are you alright little lady?" that rough voice spoke again, and fear began to fill. I couldn't let it take over me this time. It isn't him.

When my vision cleared I looked at the strange man. He had kind steel blue eyes, he was a short man with a long black beard.

"Astrid? Princess are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm okay now sorry , I just felt whoozy all of a sudden." I gave Hayden a nervous smile as the lies came flowing.

I hate lying to him all the time, but I don't want this bliss to end. I know whats waiting for me, and I'm scared to face it. I know someday I will have to. I can't stay in Hayden's arms through it, I don't doubt that he'll be disgusted the minute he finds out. I wouldn't blame him if I'm being honest because I'm disgusted at myslef. Everything that happened to me was my own doing. My fault.

"Would the little lady like to sit down for a few mintues? I'll grab you a water!" The gentle rough voice spoke.

"No, No I'm alright now." Again lying straight through my teeth!

"I'm just dying to see Hayden's surprise now" the giggle came out of me. It wasn't fake, everytime I'm with him everything seems so much clearer and real.

"You'll have to wait for the surprise Asty because I need to indroduce you to one of my good friends first." He whispehered to my ear sending chills down my back. His colonge hitting my nose calming me and briniging me back to my bliss. I knew he was smirking, he always was. Silly kitten!

"Andy this is Astrid the..."

"The little lass that you have been raving about? I figured. She is a beauty, Hayden my man you are one lucky fool." booming laughter erupted, it was the kind of laughter that made youwant to join in.

Wait. Fool?! Why is Hayden a fool? Am I the reason? I'm reading way too much into this.

"Oh shut up you, you're lucky to even have my presence here on this stables." Well isn't Hayden being a bit cocky. Honestly, doesn't have a nice bone on his body somtimes.

"Its nice to meet you sir." I gave Andy a small smile looking away shyly.

"Ahh don't need those formalities lass, just Andy is fine." He spoke softly while giving me a kind smile.

"He has been real ansty without you Hayden, you've been away for far too long lad. I thought for sure he'd break a stable door at least. So when I heard you were coming today , you can imagine how happy I was to hear that news." Andy continued and as he did the more confused I got.

Who is him?! Break down a stable door.

Chuckling under his breath Hayden shook his head. "I've been dying to see him too, I just couldn't with her being with me all the time and him being a secret."

So its my fault. Gods everything is.

"Come on then, I put him out on the feild for you so it'd be easier on the lass. Gave me hard time he did, such a stubborn one he is" Andy said laughing.

"You know him Andy, always got to be his way or all hell breaks loose."

"You spoil him."

Hayden and this man just laughed as Hayden took my hand and guided me towards the feilds I'm guessing. I'm pretty sure they were talking about a horse, but I never took Hayden to be a horse love. Nor has he ever shown it to me either.

Well he's gonna show you now, so stop being an idiot. He probably kept this a secret, and trusts us so much that he's gonna tell us. You can never do that. Only because you are being an idiot. He loves you, and you think he'll find you disgusting.

You don't know that, and this secret is small compared to ours. For Thor's sake I'm arguing with myself now.

Once I looked up I saw a beutiful open space, filled with lush green grass. Infront of me was a majestic black horse surrounded by a fence. His deep black eyes shined with mischeif, and if I knew better I'd say annoyance. His mane looked groomed and flowing with the wind. He looked so elegant and confident.

"Hey buddy!" Hayden shouted with a smile as he let go of my hand. His persona had changed in the ten seconds. Its something I have never seen from a guy like Hayden. I know he can be very childish but this is different. His eyes, they spoke volume. No longer was it sad, it was almost like a child waiting to be given their toy. I saw love and admiration. Though the horse didn't seem to like it as it turned around kicking the fence lightly.

"Oh come on now! I'm really sorry for not coming, I promise!" I'm pretty sure that he is sorry for not visiting this majestic horse often, but I would have thought he would look more apologetic. Instead that beautiful smile remained like he knew the horse wasn't being serious.

The horse just neighed with fustration.

Not that I expected the horse to acutally speak.

A creaking noise brought me back to the land of the living. Next thing I know though is that hayden climbing the fence and balancing on the top bar unbeknowest to the horse. Oh my thor! Does he know how to ride that thing?!

Without a care in the world the idiot jumped on the horse's back causing it to buck.

"HAYDEN!" Fear coursed through my body.Oh Thor! He's gonna get himself get killed!

"Its alright lass, calm down..."

"You want me to calm down?! My Boyfriend is litterlly about to die because of his own stupidity! How in the name of strawberries am I supposed to calm down." My whole body began to shake in fear. I was petrifyied for him.

A laughter broke my thoughts, "Lass, that horse and the lad have been friends since they were both fifteen. They are just playing, they are always like this. Trust me lass, Toothless will never hurt Hayden." Andy said chuckling to himself. "They are thick as theives."

Toothless? Who names a horse Toothless?

Duh your dorky boyfriend!

It did seem like Hayden was having fun instead of being terrified. They jumping obstacles and messing around. Once they, I assume, had their fun Hayden got down from the horse and walked over to me.

"Princess, this was my surprise to you." He started nervously.

"Well, I got a lot of things to do today, I'll leave it to you lad." Andy walked away humming to a tune I couldn't quiet recognise.

"Sorry that I lied to you princess. I know lying isn't something you tolerate. You can leave me if you want. I know I don't deserve you or your love. I'm so sorry I just didn't know how to tell you." He looked like a frighten child right now and it melted my heart, but could't help but laugh.

"Oh you silly kitten! I'm not going to leave you over a horse."

"Princess, my parents don't know that I have him, and I know one hundred percent that my dad won't apporve. This isn't the entire truth. You are the only one that knows about him. I didn't want any secrets between us." He looked so ashamed of himself. I wonder why, he isn't commiting a crime just doing something that he enjoys.

"You know how I told my parents and you that I'm going on hoilday next month..."

"Well, with the holidays coming no one would expect nothing of you kitten."

Hayden's POV

I hope you don't hate me for this Asty. I should have told you as soon as we got together. I can't lose you too.

She isn't going to leave maybe just laugh. I'm just being stupid. She isn't like my parents. She understands.

She'll just hate that I lied.

"The whole truth is that I race. After Ivy passed, I kept on getting drunk to forget the pain. It hurt like hell. Ivy and I were really close. Not hearing her voice and laugh hurt..."

"Hayden..."

Raising my hand up I stopped her. I don't want to hear his disappointment. I've seen it enough from my parents.

"Let me finish please."

She just held my hand and nodded her head.

Taking a big breath I continued. " I got drunk a lot. One day, when I was around 16 and a half I stumbled on this place. It was really dark, I couldn't really see where I was. I only knew that it stunk so much that I tried to get away from the smell. I was beyond drunk at that point. Nothing made much sense then. I somehow wondered to this field where toothless was. He was tied to the fence. I don't know if it was because I was drunk, but I felt like he understood me. Next thing I know is that I woke up next him. Just as I woke up I heard Andy shouting at me run away because he was wild and will hurt me if I was near him. I knew toothless wouldn't hurt me, as soon as I looked in toothless's eyes I knew even if the whole world hurt me he wouldn't. From then on I came to see him everyday. Astrid, Toothless is my best friend. The one who actually understood my pain. He helped me. Andy gave him to me, apparently he couldn't break toothless in. No one could. Toothless is always calm around me. I race with him now. I'm Rider and he is well, Toothless."

Astrid just stood there. Shock was clearly visible on her face. I just hope that she won't tell my parents or make me tell them because I know no matter how "happy" we may seem right now my dad will never accept this part of my life.
