Chapter 1
Hiccup's POV
The bell rang, throughout the hallway signalling that the school day was over. Well at least now I can have some peace and quite until that idiot of a father returns. A sea of students flooded the hallway, as they rushed back and forth gathering their belongings to get away from this hell hole.
Meh, I wouldn't blame them.
"HAYDEN! Wait up." A high pitch irritating voice screeched across the hall. For a second I thought a bird was dying. Great.
I turned around on my heel to see a girl running over to me. She stood next to me wearing a big smile that she thought was attractive. She stood around 5"8 wearing a short light pink skirt and a white tank top. Curly waist length blonde hair, big probably fake red lips, and really high heels. Her designer school bag barely hanging on her shoulder as her left hand held on to the strap tightly to stop it from falling fall off, and a tiny purse and the brand new I phone clutched on her right hand. She would class as Barbie twin sister, and Barbie was the better looking one.
I also remember flirting with her in Chemistry, but I don't really like her.
"Yes" I said in a monotone voice.
"Can we hook up tonight? I can show you an amazing time." the girl said winking. This is only making her less attractive right now. Besides, I don't even know this chick.
Is she serious, can she not realise that people actually need some peace and quiet.
"Listen Cassie"
"It's Rosa"
"Whatever, look I've got a life that I need to be getting on with so it would be nice if you never talk to me." I know it's harsh, but sometimes people need to back off.
"What about the flirting?" Cassie or Rosa whatever her name is on the verge of crying. Like I care, it's not like I'm going to fall for this puppy dog act.
"It's just entertainment you should know that by now." A smirk was slowly making its way onto my lips.
"But Hayden!" She screeched making my ears bleed. "You need to start dating. You should follow Snotlout's example and start dating."
"You do realise, he just broke up with that brunette just yesterday after dating for like a week." Why the hell am I even discussing this with this bitch?! What's wrong with me?
"At least the girls know he's available." The girl in front of me mumbled.
"I would never date blondies like you, if I would ever date someone she'd be naturally beautiful and smart. You aren't any of that sweetheart so, let's not get any hopes up." I replied to her mumble while giving her a once-over.
Tears pooling in the corners of her eyes, and slowly started to roll down her make up full cheeks. People who were around and heard our conversation started snickering at her, and some tried to cover their laughter by coughing. Embarrassed she ran towards the car park while wiping the tears away. To be honest I couldn't care less she practically asked for it by speaking to me. This school should really know that I don't do dating. Sure I've kissed girls, but it was either the neck or the face, but without any contact with the lips. I'm not going to give my first kiss to some random slut now am I ?
I turn around on my heel and made my way towards the parking lot. The sight of my beautiful black and red striped Lamborghini came to my view, this car would make girls squeal for no apparent reason, but I love the attention I was getting. Especially, since I get none at home. Who needed to date when my one true love was right in front of me.
I was driving out of the car park, and onto the main road when my phone rang. The flashing image of an once happy family was all it took for me to realise that it him that was calling me. Sighing heavily I picked up the call with hesitation as a scowl replaced my smile.
What did he want?!
"Yes" I said with a monotone voice
"Hayden, I want you home now!"
"No! Why should I?" I asked getting angry
"I have to tell you something son, so come home quickly"
"Tell me what you want to tell me now, is mum there?"
"No son, but you need to...."
"Oh cut the son crap and I'll come home whenever I like. Just like you dad. You always wanted me to be like you so, here I'm being like you!" I cut him. There was a silence on the other end, but I know he hasn't hung up.
"Son I'm working you know that" he said making it sound like it's my fault.
"Yes so coming home drunk shows me you were working. And also FYI every time I'd call you to come home you'd tell me to piss off!...."
"Hayden" He sighed heavily.
"So now, I'm telling you now piss off!"
Without letting him reply I hung up and made a quick U-turn changing my destination to the petrol station. Making my way inside the shop I pulled my ID. I grabbed a Jack Daniel bottle and placed it on the till with my ID. After paying I made my way towards my beautiful baby. Don't get me wrong I love my black motor bike, Nightstrike it's my girl, but my car has always been fragile to me.
I parked my car as I made my self to the one place that I can have peace in. This place is quite hard to find considering its covered with trees and lush greenery. This place is beautiful. When mum and dad actually gave a shit about me we would come here and spend quality family time. Now she's working and he's working. No one is talking in the house just because their new baby died. Though I loved her very much, but the sad reality of the world burst our bubble of happiness. Love will only ever make you weak. Only the strongest will survive this cruel world, and weakness like love have no place.
I took the brandy bottle out and starting taking sips out of it.
They can come home drunk and late, but I can't! What is that shit about?
Finishing the bottle I was a little tipsy, but not drunk. I've been drinking for a long time, one bottle does nothing to me. I'm fully aware of my surroundings. I picked up my bottle and made my way towards the car. The sky was darkening by the minute. I was getting late, but I didn't care. I'm 18 now nearly finished my A'levels and can't wait till university because I didn't want to stick around for long.
The drive was long and silent. The only thing that kept running through my mind was what my so called father wanted to talk about. I pulled my car to a halt and I made my way to my parking space in their mansion. My father is an business man with the biggest hotel around the world and I was to inherit it. I actually didn't mind that, but that's not exactly what I wanted.
I got out of the car and went inside the house to the living room. The living room was big with a big chandelier in the middle. We had a black L shape couch with two love seats either side of them. The living room was quiet spacious, but I like it that way because it gave me space to dance along with my Wii. However, that is a secret I can't have everyone knowing. The schools very own bad boy loves to dance now, they can't know that can they?
My what an surprise! Today ladies and gentlemen both my parents are home. After how many years you ask? Well after exactly 3 fucking years. Now, look at them all lovely dovey and all cudderly like 3 years ago never happened.
"What did you want to talk about?" I asked sternly my face expressionless.
"Hayden your home!" Mum said obviously excited about something.
"Sit son we got to tell you something." I nodded asking them to continue, but deep down I had this gut feeling that everything is turning for the worse. Cautiously, I moved towards one of the love seats and stared at my parent. They were nervous yet excited. Mum was glowing, and she looked like she couldn't hold down whatever the information she was holding in.
She finally burst.
"Honey I'm pregnant!"
My whole world just shut down at that point. She's pregnant! This is what happens after you finish grieving about one you get another. For fucking three years I've been neglected, disowned and clearly hated. And what's worse is that she's pregnant. Sure their only 37, but still their going to neglect me even more now. Will they just forget about me like they forgot about her? You know what I don't care! Have your fucking baby I'm going to leave soon anyway.
I smiled a sickeringly sweet smile.
"Oh your having a baby that's just out of the world, have fun being pregnant and all. Congratulations. Hopefully it's a boy so you could have the son you always wanted. I'll be up in my room.
I ran up the long spiral of stairs and made it to my room. Slammed the door shut and I laid down in my bed. Tears blurred my vision.
No! No, I'm not crying! Over a stupid thing. No need to waste them.
I don't care, all I have to do is hold on a little while longer.
