Grounding with the 5 Senses
Focusing on the five sense (taste, touch, sight, smell, and hearing) is a great way to practice mindfulness, to feel more "in the moment," to come down from a panic attack, and more.
What do you see?
Really look at an object, view, room, etc. and notice all the details.
What do you feel?
Pause to really be mindful of a physical sensation, such as a warm cup in your hands.
What do you hear?
Listen to a sound you may not have noticed before and get present with it.
What do you smell?
Pause with items (food, soap, etc.) that have a scent and fully notice the scent.
What do you taste?
Slowly eat a few bites and really focus on savoring every flavor.
