Vacation Full Days 2-5: The Bahamas Edition

Day two (Monday); was us cleaning and mowing the lawn of our property. We even visited and cleaned up our pet cemetery.

We then raced against the clock as the rain was on the radar and we wanted to go swimming. My older sister wanted to use her floaties so we brought them for her.

We had a blast in Jewell Lake. I hadn't swum there in years.

Unfortunately, we received some...unexpected news.

My dad wasn't with us as he had picked up some siding for our cabin and well...the van has some new dents and no longer has two back windows. Only one remains.

We spent the next few hours cleaning and getting ice cream before heading out to look for some deer butts.

We saw a lot of doe and no bucks which was a little weird.

Anyway, we had a fire then went to bed.

The next day (Tuesday), we went over to Traverse City for the cherry festival.

That was an adventure.

We walked downtown, in the different shops (I was looking for books to read in two different book stores, but didn't really find anything that caught my eye...thankfully, I did bring up one book to read...which I will get into later...), and I got see Toy Story 4.

It was a beautiful story in my opinion, and I cried towards the end. It was such a wonderful movie.

And that's not all. I got to go to Torch Lake! It was so beautiful and clear water, although it was cloudy so it wasn't as blue as I was expecting. But that's okay! I got to have a great experience!

(Up top is the picture, for some reason I can't attach the picture here...sad face...)

Then we went to bed.

Yesterday (Wednesday), we woke up (a little late...) and headed out back to Jewell Lake for an all family (except my brother who had to work...) beach time!

My older sister had to leave by 1 PM to get home, so we had a few hours there.

After she left, we started cleaning the cabin as we had guests coming today. We also took a trip to Lincoln to get some groceries and such.

After that, we watched movies with strawberry daiquiris (I drank a lot on this vacation, but haven't felt a buzz or anything...maybe I shouldn't be proud of that...?).

We fell then went to bed.

This morning, I woke up before everyone else, we made a big breakfast, then left to see the Independence Day parade downtown (Biggest Little Fourth in the North!).

We cleaned the cabin more for the guests and I was cleaning my stuff up before I found the book that I brought up to read.

Dude, I cannot tell you how much that book changed my perspective on any relationship ever!

I just finished it about an hour ago. It took me about four hours to read from start to finish (I didn't have the time or energy to start and finish it until now, I totally regret that decision after the fact).

It made me realize what I had been doing wrong in romantic relationships, but also my friendships. And I hope to use the principles to mend some family relationships.

If you are interested in the book, its called "The Five Love Languages: Singles Edition" by Gary Chapman.

It is a "Christian" book, but the concepts are practical for any and everyone.

If you want you can go 5lovelanguages.com to take a quiz to find out what your love language is. I would love to know what your primary love language is if you do take the quiz!

Anyway, now I'm sitting outside at the fire pit as my family and guests are at Jewell Lake watching fireworks (I can't do fireworks), loving the fact that my service is good enough to update this.

We have had some really bad service up here and I can't do most things on my phone.

So, I don't know when the next time I will update this as this is my first chance in days where my reception is good.

I have a picture to prove how bad it is. Although, it won't upload...*sighs*

Oh! And for the title of this where I mention the Bahamas, that's because Torch Lake is compared to the Bahamas as the water is crystal clear!

Anyway, I'm going to try to start a fire or it will rain on me. At this point, I don't know which one will happen.

Also, Justin, I did read your great news. I am so proud of you! You have come a long way. You keep going and do what you need to do. I am cheering for you!

I wish you the best!

Until next time,

P.S. I started the fire and I still think it will rain...

P.P.S. My fire failed (not really my fault) and did sprinkle, though it wasn't too bad.

Later!
