I was starting to write an update about the interview that I did yesterday, and then, it hit me. I never gave an update after I received some news on Tuesday. I mentioned how my sister's boss was having back surgery this past Tuesday and she was going to wait until after the surgery to see when I can come in for an interview and training. 

Well, in the end, her boss wasn't able to get her back surgery done on Tuesday as the hospital has a new COVID policy and her boss had to reschedule it for next month. My sister called me on Tuesday and told me that she was going to come by after work that evening with an application for me to fill out. 

I filled it out and on Thursday I got word from my sister that her boss was going to text me that day to set up a date and time for an interview. Not even two hours later, she texted me and we scheduled an interview for the next day. 

Yesterday, I went in for an interview and walked out with a two week work schedule. Finally some good news. Finally something real after eight months of running around. 

I'm scheduled for 4-hour training shifts on Tuesday and Friday. And then, the next week I will be working 8-hour shifts on Tuesday and Friday. From there, I might pick up more shifts on Wednesdays and Thursdays and/or cover for the other receptionist who works on Saturdays and Sundays. The store is closed on Mondays, so I'm always off on Mondays. 

It will only be 16-hours for now and the pay is the same as I had at the daycare I worked at. And I was told if my performance is good, I will get a dollar raise after a set period of time. 

Not terrible for my second job. And the receptionist experience will be good for later when I try to get back into looking to animal clinics. It might not be what I wanted, but at this point, me getting a job is a miracle. 

So, yeah, there's my job update. It isn't what I wanted, but better than nothing at this point. Especially with all of the COVID-related problems I've been facing. Because I haven't disclosed everything that has gone wrong with my job search. 

However, there are some other updates I wanted to give before I finish and publish this. 

Writing update; I haven't written a single word for anything. I haven't touched any of my current projects. Fun. I'm grinning like a lunatic for some reason as I type this. It's not funny. As I really want to get back into writing. 

I also want to get back into reading paperback books, but that's how different thing that will be touched more on in my next point of an update on life. And I want to finish this manga that I'm reading, but I watched the anime already so it gets boring reading what I've already watched. Multiple times I've watched it. 

As for my next update, my grandma actually stayed with us until yesterday instead of Tuesday. She not only extended her stay with us, we also already planned for her next weekend stay. She doesn't live too far away from us, although, she was never truly alone until last year when Grandpa died. We have plans for her to move in with us when we move. 

She left yesterday as she had an appointment with the cemetery as my grandpa hasn't gotten a grave stone yet. Turns out no one informed her that they were waiting for her decision on what it will be as they never picked one before he passed. The one she picked  out for him and her (for when she passes) is beautiful. It truly fits them. It won't be ready until April or something, but I look forward to seeing it in person and not just a picture of the concept. 

We actually went over to her house earlier to take down her Christmas decorations and helped her with a few other things. We also went through more of my great grandmother's things and, wow. That's all I'm going to say. 

My mom grabbed a few books from my grandpa's collection and I'm thinking of going through it and taking some for myself. It might also be time for me to grab the binder of my short stories that I've gifted my grandpa a few years ago. And grab his copy of The Family Secret. It hurts thinking about it and I'm starting to cry. I've been putting it off for the last year. I didn't want to think about it, however, we've been going through my grandma's things as her and Grandpa haven't decluttered in...well, probably never knowing my grandpa. He was such a hoarder. 

His computer room is filled to the brim. And we've gone through it some in the last year. Grandma's bedroom is looking much better now that the gun case is gone and she has thrown some stuff out. 

So, yeah, update on my grandma. I think I want to touch on what happened yesterday before my interview before I finish this. 

So I was dropping off Sally at her house and it was a complete white-out. Snow was falling and I couldn't see the car in front of me. I drive the 15 minutes to her house like that. I dropped her off, drove five minutes to get to my interview and it clears up as if it was never snowing. I was glad it didn't snow much after that as I had another 25-30 minutes to drive. 

It's not too far away, but it is still a bit of a drive depending on traffic. 

And that should do it for this update. I will try to write more know that I'm less stress over my job situation. 

So, I guess, this is it until Tuesday/Wednesday when I give another update for my first day of training. Unless something else comes up then that will be the plan. It probably won't work out that way as when has my plans ever worked out for me.
