My First Panic Attack At Work...

I haven't written anything for this story for a couple of weeks and the first thing I do post it's about a panic attack. Way to go, me!

And then I didn't finish writing this on Wednesday when it happened. Here I am, writing this on Saturday. Way to go, me, again!

Anyway, this past week I had been acting lead teacher in the classroom I work in. It's been fun, but I didn't care for training the new girls (maybe that's because of me or them or the fact that they will be taking over my spot in the classroom I work in while I move to a different one...).

The fact that some things are happening that I don't like, again, it's me having the problem.

And I was able to have six of my normal kids by myself and it was a great experience.

But back to the reason why I had a panic attack. I was by myself and the health inspector came in without me knowing (I have a hard time with things happening with no prior warning) and then a fire drill was announced to happen in the afternoon.

The owner and director of the daycare wanted to do it while my class was sleeping and I didn't do well with that decision.

Add that to the fact that I hate flashing lights and loud noises, I was in for it. Plus, I hadn't slept well since last Friday night because Grey hasn't been sleeping well and wouldn't stay in his cage.

He got out of his cage Saturday morning and pooped everywhere in my room. I had to clean my carpet, move Rio (my rabbit) into a spare bedroom, rearrange my room, and figure what to do at night with the dog.

With much trial and error, and still not knowing why he was like that in the first place, he now sleeps outside of his cage in my room and it's been going good.

Back to my panic attack, I knew I was spiraling during rest time so I texted the director to ask if she could be with me because I needed someone with me. She ended up asking me questions and talked calmly. I calmed down pretty quickly with her there.

They decided to wait until later for my class to wake up and I ended up leaving before the fire drill happened.

Even though I wasn't a part of it, I do know what to do in case of a fire. I just needed to leave and be by myself for a while.

Hopefully, this week will be better, but so far, I'm feeling much better than I did before this week.

Thanks for reading!
