My Dream Job?

Hello! I wanted to share some news.

After a month of nothing with my job search, I think I found my dream job. It's the lowest position, but I am not picky when it comes to this opportunity.

Before I go into detail about the job; backstory time!

Friday night, I was laying in bed hoping to go to sleep anytime soon because I was beyond tired. At 11:35, over two hours into my fight to fall asleep, my dad texts me. I noticed it, then decided I can deal with it later.

I discovered yesterday morning that it turned out to be a post in a neighborhood social media site. At first, I tried looking at the post and couldn't as I had to make an account. I wasn't going to deal with that. I did think about texting my dad back to see what the original post was about, until I decided to just make an account and see what he was sent me.

It was a post made by a horse barn owner looking for some more help. After a few hours, I ended up texting her. She asked if I was able to take a phone call in a few minutes, I replied with a confirmation, and...nothing. Over an hour later, I texted her back as I didn't hear anything. I explained that I was available for the rest the day at any time.

Almost immediately, I get a phone call (with an explanation that she tried calling me but the call dropped and other things happened, although she was appreciative of me following up). I have gone through so many interviews before, and I have to say that yesterday's interview was the best I have ever had. We clicked in the best way possible. She was explaining the job, asking for my experience, and as the call went on, she  even explained that she could get me into some vet clinics as she works with veterinarians that would hire the people that work for her.

Tomorrow morning, I get to start work. I will be starting a 2 month training period that I will be paid for. After those 2 months, I can choose what I want to do next. If I want continue where I am or work more hours, it's  up to me. I can also decide to stop any time. I hope I won't as I will be working with horses.

Although, the thing that terrifies me is that the horses are show horses. I'm going to be working with athlete horses.

Right now, I will be cleaning stalls, bringing horses in and out of the barn, and feeding them. Or, at least, a portion of the horses as they have over 50 horses at the barn.

The owner even told me about how she mostly works on the training side of the business. They  do training there as well. I am really looking forward to see what kind of opportunities that can come out from this.

Oh! And she told me that all the previous interviews she had that morning didn't turn out well. Like, thank you for allowing me to be the highlight of your day.

I am so happy, but nervous. I cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings! I hope this job actually goes well. That way, after the 2 month period, I will be able to quit my receptionist job and work full-time with HORSES!

The bad part about all of this? My mom is allergic to horses. I live with my parents. I have to be very careful to not give my mom an allergic reaction.

Anyway! That's all for today! I will be back tomorrow after showering as I will probably be sweaty and gross from the manual labor.

Until next time,

Later!
