I told myself that I do better about writing and updating this book in general. That was three weeks ago and only silence from my end. I have been meaning to update this and write more of TUAoC, but I was only able to write a few sentences since I last wrote and published something.

And beyond that, I haven't had much motivation to write.

Well, I started writing this on Saturday, stopped, and now I'm...going off and disappearing again.

The last five words of that sentence were written on Wednesday evening.

Now here's what's been happening in the past week; I tried updating this on Saturday (clearly that didn't work too well), I mostly cleaned and tried motivating myself on Sunday (I mostly watched Criminal Minds), watched the last episode of Fruits Basket and hung out with my sister on Monday (that storm outside was crazy), I helped my grandma run errands on Tuesday, I did chores on Wednesday and made a last-minute decision, Thursday consisted of packing and a vet visit for the cats (it was only a rabies booster that they needed, plus my Trixie weighs 7.13 lbs!), Friday was a car ride with Trixie and Grey (it was great! Trixie laid on my lap at one point, she got a kiss from Grey who was sitting in the seat next to me, and I had Blue Moon ice cream for the first time in YEARS!), and yesterday was spent finding out that my Gmail app hadn't been sending me notifications since June 23rd and I had to go through over forty emails with some spotty phone service.

All in all, it was a crazy week for sure. Although, it feels great to be back up here since I was last here in December. And yes, I am up north (the last-minute decision I made was to come up here for the week). The city that we have our cabin and properties in has this big 4th of July celebration with a parade and fireworks. It may be a small city and not much to it, but it's definitely a second home.

And of course, I'm up writing this at 7:30 AM while Grey is outside. He keeps stalking the neighbors who all will be leaving in the next few days aside from the family that lives down the street.

Friday was fun as the next-door neighbors to the right are camping out in a tent in their front yard and Grey didn't appreciate that and started barking at them, Trixie was out with us and even went outside (although after she gave me sass and ran underneath the van, I brought her back inside, crazy cat).

Yesterday, Grey decided that he wanted to cuddle with my grandma yesterday morning (it was so cute, they were sharing the same pillow and sleeping back to back), the neighbors to the left of us came up for the first time in years to claim a few things from their little cabin as they are ready to sell (much too high for a small cabin on a 100 by 100 lot, but okay (Grey got anxious as parents were talking with them so I took him over to them and he was fine)), and Grey decided to bark at my aunt and uncle who came over as we were having dinner (it surprised all of us, but once I pulled him away for a few minutes he was fine with them again, I think it was because I had my back to them as Grey was next to me and he didn't like that, he's fine now).

Almost two months ago, I started using this laser hair removal tool that thins out body hair and makes it grow more slowly, and I have been loving it as I don't have to shave often and I was able to do my legs outside of the shower easily (which I normally never do and I cut myself several times, it's fine though).

The bugs up here are being a bit crazy. This year's bug of choice is grasshoppers. I found one in the bathroom with me and it almost jumped into the toilet before disappearing.

We even saw a firefly on Friday night which has been two years since I've seen one.

Last night I finally got through all of my notifications and updates of books that I've been reading on three different sites (I had over forty emails from AO3 about book updates, I finally finished reading all of them at 1 AM last night).

Now, I plan to finish writing this update, publish it, go see the parade and have ribs with my family today (my parents, my grandma, and I came up here together along with Trixie and Grey), and then work on writing my books starting tonight or tomorrow.

I'm hoping to go swimming too this next week as I haven't gone since August of last year.

Also, Trixie decided to jump from bunk bed to bunk bed this morning. I can't believe she actually made it from the top bunk of the wooden one to the top bunk of the colorful metal one as they're a good few feet apart.

My grandma woke up to go to the bathroom not too long ago and woke me up and Grey wanted to go outside. He's inside now, but I'm wide awake. Of course, when I'm up north, I woke up when the bugs and critters are the most noisest at 7 in the morning.

Anyway, I wanted to explain what's been going on as I disappeared for a few weeks and then I disappeared again before publishing this to disappear up north.

I haven't written much at all since I published something for a book and I posted an update in this one at the beginning of June. I've mostly been reading, helping out around the house, watching Criminal Minds, and been dealing with something that has gotten better so that's great.

I just saw a hummingbird flying around the front porch. And now it's drinking from the feeder.

Well, I think I'm going to end this here. I don't want to forget about this and wait longer to publish it.

Besides, I have to get ready for the day and organize my stuff better as I haven't had the time since I had been reading a lot yesterday.

Plus, I want to enjoy the quietness of being the only one awake right now, which is weird now that I'm thinking about it. Usually, my dad is up by now. The sounds of up north nature are amazing though. I love being surrounded by woods.

Anyway, thank you for reading. I'll try not to disappear again and actually get around updating my books. I can't promise anything as I don't know where life will take me after I get home on Saturday. I'm hoping to get a job soon, but it's been a little difficult.

So writing might get worse for me or I might get better with the routine of working again. Who knows.
