2022

It's been a year.

Sorry, that was a terrible joke. I had started to write something for this journal on Christmas Eve, but I decided against posting it as it was a little too personal. Let's just say that Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for me was hard.

We went to Bronner's on the 26th as well. That was an experience as I was still recovering from what happened on Christmas Eve.

I'm doing better now. Everything isn't fine, but it's getting there.

For New Year's, we had my grandma over at the house for a few days. It was nice to know that she was with us as New Year's Eve was her wedding anniversary. It would have been 56 years since their wedding.

I'm glad she wasn't alone for the few days around the anniversary.

Speaking of anniversaries, today (January 6th) is the first anniversary of my grandpa's death. We went to the grave site today. Unfortunately, his grave stone wasn't there yet. So, that needs to be figured out. Afterward, we had brunch. It was there that we decided to have grandma stay with us for the weekend. Partly, so she isn't alone today. Mostly, because we already had plans with her to come over on Saturday and possibly spend the night. With her here now, we don't have to pick her up on Saturday.

It's nice having her here.

And since I mentioned Saturday, I have some great news.

I hit a wall with finding a job the week before Christmas, so I decided to stop and wait to try again after New Year's.

Fast forward to Tuesday, I polished up my resume, sat down for hours, and ended up applying to three different jobs. The next day, yesterday, I get a call from one of the companies that I applied to. One phone call later, and not only am I going in on Saturday morning for an interview (an informal thing as it sounds like I'm pretty much in the door for this job position), but I was told to apply for another position that's a full-time manger position. I original applied for a part-time entry position.

This was the first time that my experience and education actually got me somewhere in my job search.

I'll give an update once Saturday is over.

I also have a cookie party on Saturday that my sister-in-law invited us for. Plans have changed and we are having it here at the house. Hence why my grandma is currently here.

And it hasn't quite hit me yet that today marked the first year without Grandpa here. It actually hasn't hurt me yet.

That might be because of what happened on Christmas Eve. Maybe.

Anyway, it's late and I have two long days ahead of me. I'm finishing this off here.

Thank you for reading!

Until next time,

Later!
