(F/N)= Friend's name 

Things were so different a year ago...

You were at VidCon with your best friend, (F/N). The two of you were just hanging out, like usual. Until something caught your eye. From a distance, you see a brown-haired boy. He was wearing a Bronx hat.

"Oh my goodness." Your eyes widen 

"What is it (Y/N)?" (F/N) cocks her eyebrow 

"Is that...Leafy?" You ask before bursting into tears 

"(F/N) looks around seeing the boy you were talking about.

"Uh..I don't know dude. Just because he's wearing a similar hat as him, doesn't mean anything." (F/N) shrugs her shoulders 

"Should we go over there?" You ask 

"If you want to."

"Alright, let's go." You gulp, walking towards the brown-haired boy 

The more closer you were getting to the boy, the more familiar he looked. 

"Leafy?" You call out his name, seeing if he would answer

A gullible smile forms on Calvin's face when he has all his attention on you. 

"Yeah, that's me." He giggles

"Oh my gosh!" You exclaim, putting the palm of your hands on your warm cheeks 

Calvin stood there looking very attractive. He bite his bottom lip as he seen you go through a little panic attack. 

"Oh my! Can I get a hug?" You say as tears streamed down your cheeks from you being so happy 

"Of course!" Calvin says as he wraps his arms around you 

"I can't believe this is real!" You bawled, wrapping your arms around him 

Calvin was so good at giving hugs surprisingly. 

"What's your name?" Calvin asks as he breaks up the hug 

"(Y/N)." You answer with a small smile formed on your face 

"That's a cool name." Calvin nods his head 

"Thanks."

"No prob. Aye you wanna hang out?" Calvin asks you 

"Yeah, sure." You nod your head, following up with a small giggle 

"(F/N) I'm bout to go. I'll see ya when I get back." You pat on your friend's shoulder 

"Bye." (F/N) sucks in her teeth 

*Time Skip*

You and Calvin were walking side by side. Having a conversation about different topics. As the day got older, your conversations got deeper. 

"I still can't believe I'm talking to you. Jesus Christ." You say as you were shook 

"Haha." Calvin laughs, hiding his smile 

"Why you hiding that precious smile for?" You playfully hit him on the arm 

"Because..."

"Because...what?"

"It's a habit, and my smile ugly."

"Boy who told you that lie." You screw your face, causing him to laugh 

"No one. My opinion though." Calvin puts his hands deep in his trouser pockets 

"I think you're smile is more valuable than diamonds. In my opinion though." 

"Thank you." Calvin says

"Anyways, how's life?"

"Life is alright. Not the best at the moment, but things are alright. You?"

"Life is great. Especially when I got the chance to meet you. You made my whole day." You sigh in relief 

"I'm glad I could." Calvin grins, as you could see a bit of sadness showing in his face 

"What's up? If you don't mind me asking."

"Well...flashbacks." Calvin bluntly says 

You and Calvin finds a place to sit. He sits on the red couch, you do as well.

"Flashbacks? What kind of flashbacks?"

"Childhood flashbacks. That's the only thing stopping me from being completely happy." Calvin sighs 

"How long has you been feeling this way?"

"A long time. Remember what I told everyone in my 1 million special?"

"Yeah."

"There's a lot more to the story. But, I don't want any sympathy (Y/N)." Calvin coldly says 

You felt empty, and guilty. You were choked up from what to say at this point of time. You wanted to hug him tight saying, "It's going to be alright."

Calvin's legs were trembling as he talked a little bit more of his childhood. As you listened to him, it felt like you could imagine all this happening. As if it was a movie that would never end. You actually yearned to learn more of Calvin's mysterious past. It sounded interesting, to the point where he stopped at his father committing suicide. It was like a cliffhanger. You weren't going to even go that far into asking him to tell more. You were going to respect his private life. If he wanted up open up more about it, you'll hear him out. 

"Please don't have any sympathy for me (Y/N)."Calvin puts his hand on your shoulder 

You felt like there was nothing to say. It felt as if you had a lump in your throat while listening to his haunting past. You felt like you could relate to him in a similar way. But, his past was much more worse than yours. Even though he didn't tell the full story, it must've been worse from the long run. You didn't have anything else in your heart, but sympathy for Calvin. 

"Aye cheer up." Calvin cups one of your cheeks, causing you to blush 

"Mm." You hummed

"I think we should talk more. Call me. Also, what's your phone number?" Calvin says, giving you a small piece of paper with his digits on there

"Do you have a piece of paper?"

"No worries. I can just add you to my contacts." Calvin grins, taking out his Samsung 

You give Calvin your phone number, seeing his eyes glued to his screen. 

*Itty Bitty Time Skip*

"It was so nice meeting you Calvin." You hug Calvin once more

"It was nice meeting you too (Y/N). I'm going to call you tonight." Calvin hugs you back, with a beautiful smile on his face 

"No you're not." You snicker

"Yes I am."

"No you're not. Just worry about your videos, not me." You giggle 

"The videos can wait." Calvin says with seriousness written all over his face, causing you to choke up again 

Goddamn, why does he have to do this to you. His eyes were filled with sparks of fire as he talked to you more in a serious way. You've never heard Calvin talk so serious like this before.

"Alright then. I hope we meet again soon." 

"Me too." Calvin smiles

You walk away, looking back at him once again. He does the same as well, giving you the most beautiful smile ever. You've met an angel today, and his name was Calvin Lee Vail.
