You were still embarrassed, yes, and it was understandable. But you were happy that Robin was honest instead of letting you walk around in your sleep clothes. You walked out of the bathroom and heard the sound of a door slamming wide open echo through the house. You looked at Manny, confused on what the sound was. "Hey guys, what was that sou-" You asked as you saw a flying figure in the living room, proudly wearing heart-shaped sunglasses with the slightest tint of pink in them as it began talking. Either this was all a dream or you accidentally took some drugs last night because you were just staring at a talking butterfly.
First, a walking clock and a talking sketchbook, now there was a butterfly.
"I'm back from my weekly visit to King Malcolm!" the butterfly shouted as it dropped their small bags below them in shock and surprise before they began to flutter towards you. "Oh my! Who is this we have here? I must say that I love your outfit new one!" the butterfly smiled and blushed as it saw your face turn red, you weren't very used to these kinds of compliments and, it's not every day that you get complimented by a talking butterfly. You smiled and told the butterfly thank you before you looked over to Harry, Robin, and Manny who were now even more nervous, Robin and Manny can't hide it very well as you could see by their sweating faces.
"O-Okay, thank you Shrignold we'd love to hear about how your trip went but we have to discuss some thing's with our new roommate." Robin said trying to get the butterfly out as well as the others, but he clearly failed as they ignored him. Harry sighed, everything he did sounded as if he was being sarcastic or hysterical. But they all seemed to listen to him as if he was serious and got their backs straightened before leaving, you didn't understand how they didn't get scared by Robin and his high strict tone he naturally had. You decided to stop wondering about it, it clearly didn't matter anymore. What did matter was addressing the big elephant in the room.
(DID SOMEONE SAY TIME-shush Tony there's still a story going on)
You all sat down at the small coffee table, you noticed how glossy it was yet you could still feel the smooth wood instead of the gloss. Robin continued fidgeting with his hands, gosh he must be really nervous, you thought before hearing Manny tap on the table with a small tune, he clearly didn't care about the situation because he seemed to be very determined you'd be staying here. Harry was the only one who actually began to break the silence "So, looks like you've gotten to meet the...rest of us." Harry said, you felt like he was trying to hide a chuckle after the comment, you were right, and he hid it very well. You chuckled as well, trying to give some relief to them and to yourself, you all needed some relief.
"Y-Yeah, I mean they aren't a problem it's just." You paused, trying to find something pleasant you could say. "I've never seen that before I mean, it's not every day you see this, I'm just a little surprised that's all." You said trying to put a soft smile on your face. "Besides, I think I could really get used to this." You said with some laughter in your voice. You could tell Manny and Robin were relieved to see you were still staying as they both smiled, you looked over at Harry still. He still held that same expression until he gave you a thumbs up which finally got you to laugh. You didn't know why, there was just something about his reactions that made you want to laugh.
You all got up from the table and watched as they let the objects and the butterfly back in, you noticed the clock when they all walked back in. You felt goose bumps rise on your arm as they walked passed you, Their expression was grim, mischievous, but also suspicious of you. You decided to not ask and asked Harry and Robin if they could help you bring in all of your stuff and find space some for you. They all helped you, including the butterfly which couldn't even handle the weight from your bags filled with light clothes.
You had finally got most of your belongings put into the living room, but you decided to patiently wait for the others to bring in your items instead of just taking over whichever room you picked. Though while they took their time bringing some of your boxes, you decided to look around the house yourself since you never really got a tour of the place. You saw that there were three bedrooms which you guessed to be Manny's', Robins', and Harrys' from the different door colors, green, red, and blue. But where was yours?
You saw everyone was ready to move your stuff to your room, but you were still unsure of where your room even was. You put down the bags and the box you were holding the very hallway you were standing in. You didn't know which one to ask, so you chose to walk towards Robin, He would be more honest about it if you didn't have a room instead of confusing you. You took a breath before asking "Hey Robin?" "Yes (Y/N)?" He replied still holding a box of yours "T-There's an extra room right? I understand if there isn't but-" "Oh! Just take the one with the red door, we-" He paused but you heard Robin mumbled something under his breath. "R-Robin?" You said noticing he was zoning out until you grabbed his attention. "Oh! S-Sorry, anyways m-me and someone else agreed to share a room s-so that one is yours!" he said then again mentioning the red door and while walking towards it he passed by you quickly, still holding your box. You nodded, but couldn't help but note that he blushed when he said that, something could be wrong, what if he was angry?
"H-Hey Robin?" You asked with a look of concern "Y-Yes?" He replied, putting down the box he was holding and opened the red door. He wasn't looking at you when he replied, you noticed that as well "You okay?" You asked, growing nervous at the idea that he could be mad at you. "Oh yeah! I'm ok, just, I guess I couldn't handle how heavy the box was." He said with laughter in his voice as he looked back at you before entering your room. "Anyways, I'll tell the other's to bring your stuff in here while you check out your room, we hope you like it." Robin said with a smile before heading into the living room, leaving you there still in the hallway.
You walked into your new room, the room's walls were painted (F/C) (Favorite color) very convenient, there was a window which let the colors of the sunset flood in, the carpet on the floor was incredibly softer than the old one your parents had owned. You smiled, very pleased with how the room looked, it wasn't that bad. You helped the others bring in your stuff before you began to decorate it and make sure everything was in order. It was at least a few 30 minutes until you came out of your room, you walked into the living room and the first thing you saw was Sketch making an origami with Manny, showing him how to do it step by step seeing how he was only a kid. The clock you saw before was discussing something with the butterfly, Shrignold might be their name, you weren't very sure yet. Then you looked over at Robin who was watching television in his chair, he almost looked sad yet comfortable being alone, you could relate to the image sadly.
But you decided to join him as he watched television, except you sat on the ground next to him while he rocked back and forth in his rocking chair. You looked towards the television screen and grew hesitant to ask what was on the screen when you only noticed it was just pure static. You were trying to think of other things to ask or say to break the silence "Where's Harry?" You asked, noticing that Harry wasn't around. "Oh, he went to the store," Robin mumbled before sighing.
"Hopefully he actually doesn't forget the batteries this time." You heard someone else say from the other side of the room in an aggravated tone. You looked to see who it was, it sure didn't sound like the polite sketchbook or the confident butterfly, nor was it Manny. You were sure it was the unnamed clock leaning on the wall. "O-Oh, so when will he be back?" You asked both Robin and the clock, The clock shrugged "It depends on how much he gets at the store so probably a while..anyways, who are you? What's your name?." The clock asked. "Oh, my name is-" You said before Manny cut you off and said it for you instead "You know Manny it's very rude to interrupt..." said the clock a little angry, possibly strict even, though not as strict as Robin was. Manny blushed from embarrassment before he looked at you hoping you wouldn't get mad either. You couldn't help it, the kid was like a little cute puppy that you couldn't bear to get mad at, you almost felt as if it would be a crime if you did.
You giggled "Hey it's fine, anyway, your name is Tony right?" You asked before the clock replied proudly "Yes, it is I, Tony. Tony the talking clock!" Sketch giggled at his sudden proud tone, could he be trying to impress you? "I think they get it, Tony..." She said smiling as Tony blushed from embarrassment and groaned, it seems he hated being embarrassment more than anyone. "And my name is Shrignold! King Malcolm gave it to me! He's the best at picking names because I love it very very much!" Shrignold said out of the blue, trying to shift your attention. You heard Shrignold ramble on about this 'King Malcolm' thing he worshipped and how he's the King of Love and blah blah blah. You had zoned out through half of the conversation the only thing you caught was his name.
"Shrignold, that's a very interesting name! Where is its origin from?" You asked Shrignold "My names origin?" Shrignold paused, rubbing his chin as he had a questioning look on his face. "Well, I really don't know, but thank you for the compliment!" He said, smiling at you, he looked even more happy than before, which you had no idea that was possible as he had always looked so happy. Tony only rolled his eyes while Sketch smiled, she was pleased to see you two were getting along well. Manny left Sketch's side and decided to watch TV with Robin since he had gotten bored from Shrignold's ramble about love and whoever King Malcolm was, You didn't blame him anyways, because secretly you were getting tired from it as well.
You heard the front door open and only saw Harry with a bunch of groceries and Chinese takeout. "Well, I got dinner and groceries...." He said in his monotone voice, everyone's eyes darted towards him, well more like the food actually. Manny ran to him, excited to see he was back home before Harry passed Manny his dinner, Robin made sure Manny was being cautious with his food. You had noticed Harry handed you some as well, before Robin helped passed out the rest to the others, you noticed Robin looked happier. while Harry and Robin put away groceries together, you helped Manny with his food seeing how he and chopsticks weren't really going well, it was causing a mess on the floor. You got up and gave him a fork instead while your stomach was grumbling, you still haven't eaten yet. Manny smiled sheepishly before he began to eat. You smiled and sat down next to him, now holding your food as well. You had began eating, trying to stop yourself from eating like a monster because you haven't had anything all day but you honestly didn't care anymore as Manny asked "Hey, want to have a contest?" You looked towards him with an eyebrow raised, you would've asked what he had meant but you were busy eating. "The first person who finishes their dinner first, wins." He said, making an announcement to not only you, but everyone else who was eating. "Well, this is going to be fun." Sketch said while looking both at Tony and Shrignold.
"Another one? Manny, do you remember what had happened last time we decided to have a contest? Especially an eating one?" Robin said he was surprised that Manny replied so quickly "Yeah, of course, I remember! I was the winner after all." You laughed, now you were up for the challenge. "We'll just see about that this time." You said, now catching everyone's attention, the expressions ranged from impressed to shocked. Manny laughed before pointing to Tony "You got the time Tony, how much time should we have in this contest?" Tony smirked, "Well, since (Y/N) is up to a real challenge here, I'd say five minutes. Whoever finishes first within five minutes will be the winner." Tony said, before you noticed one of Tony's red hands move towards the five, he seemed to be intrigued by this. "Five minutes, starting now!" Sketch yelled before you and Manny both began to quickly eat.
In the end, you had let Manny win. You watched as he celebrated but also made sure you continued to have a smile on your face. He congratulated you on a good job "No one has ever come so close to beating me! Maybe next time you'll get to win against me, but then again I am the champion." He said, which made you burst out in laughter. You felt very comfortable here, even with Shrignold, Tony, and Sketch. You felt like you all were already a big family, or maybe you were that clingy, but it didn't feel like kind of situation at all actually. You all looked like a family, well an out of place one, but a family.
You cleaned up the remaining mess you and Manny had made and saw Sketch was having trouble cleaning up herself, you decided to help her because you happened to now notice that she didn't have legs, only cartoonish black arms. She watched you as you put dishes in the sink, it was very quiet since everyone was tired and watching TV, trying to keep themselves awake. You felt yourself grow tired, the only thing that was keeping you up was something about Robin earlier...he was acting very awkward about him sharing a room with someone, but why? Was it because of the person he was stuck with? You looked towards Sketch, maybe she knew something. "Hey Sketch?" you whispered, she looked at you, her face was fully lit up since she had been as tired as everyone else. "Yes, friend?" she whispered back "How long have you been here?" You asked "Oh, a few years, same as Tony and Shrignold. The other three have been here for a while longer than us, why?" Sketch asked.
"Oh, I was wondering because Robin seemed, in a way uncomfortable about sharing a room with someone...so I was just wondering, who's he sharing his room with?" You said "Oh, he's always uncomfortable with some things, but I don't see why he would be in this situation since it's so obvious on who he's sharing a room with, how do you not know?" she asked while trying to keep quiet as Robin and the other's were watching TV.
"I don't know, I kinda just showed up today Sketch. I barely know these guys though, I do feel a small connection between everyone." You shrugged as you said that while Sketch nodded, noting that before she climbed up onto your shoulder and whispered something into your ear. You remember gasping loudly which had made everyone look towards you, they all had concerned looks.
