Noya rode back with Asahi.

It had been a long time since he had been in Asahi's car, but it still felt as familiar as ever as he plopped into the front passenger's seat.

"So Azumane, how's college?"

"It's...fine, I guess. I mostly just do schoolwork. It's like last year, but this time I don't have you."

It started to rain. Tiny drops drummed against the car window.

"It's raining." Noya pointed out solemnly.

"Yeah." Asahi replied. "It is raining."

"Come spend the night with me."

"Okay."

And to Yuu's house they drove, in relative silence.

"I'm home!"

Noya slammed open the door to his house and stomped inside. "And Azumane too!"

Silence.

"Guess no one's here."

He looked back and noticed Asahi was still standing out in the rain. It looked like he was about to cry. Nishinoya ran out to him.

"Are you okay?!"

Startled, his boyfriend looked down at him.

"I-I'm fine! It's just...been so long since I've last seen here- a-and-"

Tears started to run down his face.

Yuu hugged Asahi in the pouring rain.

"It's okay baby, but let's go inside. I don't want you to get sick."

Asahi sniffled a little. "Okay."

When they got inside they were sopping wet.

Thankfully, Nishinoya always had a few extra sets of clothes for his boyfriend since he was over so much. Or used to be over so much. Either way, Asahi went into the bathroom and in a few minutes they were both relatively warm and dry. Mostly just dry, but they were cuddling to preserve heat.

Or something like that.

"Azumane, can we watch a movie?"

"What do you want to watch?"

"I don't know. I have musical bootlegs on YouTube, random films downloaded onto my computer, and trashy reality tv downstairs."

"Let's find a movie. What do you have?"

"Lemme see."

Nishinoya didn't remember what the movie was about. All he remembered was that he was cold and tired and Asahi was next to him and he was warm.

He fell asleep.

And for once, he didn't have a single bad dream.

He woke up the next morning to Asahi shaking his shoulder.

"Yuu, I have to leave."

"Don't goooooo...."

"Baby, I have to. I have a test tomorrow."

"Okay...fine..."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Asahi walked out of the room, and a few moments later Nishinoya heard the front door click shut.

He felt empty.

He also felt sick.

A few hours later, he was laying in his bed, too tired to move. The emptiness that had once been gnawing at him had now swallowed him, and he couldn't remember the last time he had felt this bad.

Oh, wait.

The last time he had been this sick was with Asahi, sometime in mid-May. He had gotten a fever, presumably from running in the rain without any protection. Asahi had picked him up, brought him to what had been his house, and taken care of him.

And Nishinoya had hated it.

He pulled his blanket around himself again, a feeble attempt to spare any warmth that had been escaping from his body in the form of racking shivers.

He remembered it better now.

It had been raining that night too.

"Yep, you're staying here tonight."

Yuu had silently panicked at that sentence. His mind started racing and it made him feel even worse. Tears brimmed the edges of his eyes, and he let out a quiet sniffle. In seconds, his boyfriend was there, holding him despite the risk of catching whatever illness Noya may have had.

I can't. He's going to die in a month! He can't waste his time on me, or his will run out even faster...

The small boy curled up in a ball and wrapped his arms around himself, wishing he could feel his soulmate's embrace.

Nishinoya eventually fell into a brittle slumber.

He was plagued by nightmares the entire time.

Asahi drove back with Daichi, Sugawara, and Kiyoko. They were all together in his car. Suga was driving. Kiyoko was in the passengers seat, Asahi was in the back, and Daichi was sitting to the right of him.

I'll see you someday, Yuu...
