Nineteen
The day after the phone call, Dean suggested they go out, and Cas jumped on the idea. They both needed to get out of the house.
"Do you have anything you want to do?" Dean asked.
"I don't know," Cas said.
"I haven't seen my brother in a while. I could ask him if he's okay with us visiting," Dean suggested.
"That sounds nice," Cas said, smiling. He remembered Dean telling him about Sam ages ago, just a few days after they first met. Dean had talked about Sam with such pride, he obviously loved him very much. Cas was excited for this.

"I think he's going to like you," Dean said as they walked up the stairs to Sam's apartment.
"Really?" Cas asked. As much as he was excited to meet Sam, he was also nervous. What if Sam saw that Cas wasn't worth wasting time on?
"Yeah. I mean I've already told him a little about you," Dean said. Cas looked at Dean, slowing down.
"You told him about me?" Cas asked. Dean nodded. "What did you say? Why do you think I'm worth talking about?" Cas asked.
"Because... because you're a good person, Cas. You're a lot better than you give yourself credit for," Dean said. Cas didn't say anything, he just smiled. Dean knocked on the door, and Cas watched nervously as the door opened, revealing someone a lot taller than Cas was picturing.
"Sam, this is Cas. Cas, this is Sam," Dean introduced. Sam smiled at Cas.
"Hey Cas. I've heard so much about you," Sam said. Cas glanced at Dean before offering a small smile of his own. He was starting to relax a little.
"Moose! Where'd you go?" Cas froze as he heard the words shouted from inside Sam's apartment. Sam was talking, but Cas couldn't hear him. Sam held open the door for them to come in, but Cas was backing away. A tear leaked out of his eye as they came into view.
"Cas?" It was Gabriel.
