Chapter 24: Fists Instead of Kisses

Scarlett's P.O.V.

Cracking my knuckles, I hardened my gaze onto Ling.

"Let's dance, pretty lady." He taunted while getting into a fighting stance himself.
Some people watched from a safe distance while others hightailed it outta there; which is the best option in my opinion.

"I don't start fights, but I can finish them." I promptly stated, and at that moment, Ling lunged forward with a small knife in hand.

I had easily dodged, and reached for the weapon. Bad idea.

"Gotta be quicker." He put a mocking smile on his lips, and slid the knife up my arm to cut my skin, but all he cut was my black jacket, and my metal arm.

Ha. Point one to Scarlett.

He realized what was happening after the clash of metal hit his ears.
Retreating back a few feet, he gave me a confused look as he saw the glint of metal.

"Listen, this is Rush Valley! They're known for they're automail! I'm outta practice, so I guess I'll commend you for ruining my favorite jacket." I carefully removed the rest of my jacket and balled it up to toss it somewhere else. Now that my arms are free, this'll be a lot easier to fight.

His eyes widened as he caught sight of my arm, and my legs made of metal.

"Prosthetic limbs.." He was dazed, and I took my chance.

"Hey," I whispered as I grabbed him in a sleeper hold, "don't take your eyes off the opponent." I tightened my grip, but only enough to make him fall asleep. I didn't want to kill anyone! He reacted quick and flipped me easily off his back and pulled his foot back to strike a blow to my face, but I grabbed it.

I slid on the ground and took his off-balance as I knocked his other foot from under him so he could come crashing down next to me.

"You're tough; you fight almost like a Xingese man." He grunted, but before he could attack, I somersaulted back into my feet to distance myself.

"Funny. I was about to say the same." I put a patronizing smile on.

An explosion went off behind me- goddamn it Edward. You had one job.

I was preoccupied with worrying about the brothers, I didn't notice Ling coming up behind me until it was too late. He grabbed my red hair and threw me into the dirt. I spit out the grass that found its way into my mouth, and looked up.

"I'm afraid I win this round." Long triumphantly stated with a knife to my throat.

"...do you know how I became the Black Shadow Alchemist?" I asked calmly as I gave him a growing smile. He tilted his head as he looked down with a confused frown upon his face.
The grip on his knife faltered, and I took the chance to pull my hands up and clap to produce a brilliant blue light. I had just grabbed my arm with the handmade transmutation circle, and began melting into the darkness of shadow.

"AH SHES MELTING OH MY GOD I'M SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN TO FIGHT YOU THAT HARD!" Ling freaked out, and backed away from me. Soon enough, I was hidden within the long shadows of the afternoon, and snickered as Ling looked frantically around for my body.

An uppercut hit him square in the jaw, and he stumbled back a few more steps in shock. Little did he know that looking forward wasn't going to do much for an enemy at his feet. I attacked with a few more kicks and punches; not holding back. After a minute or so, the man from Xing was out cold on the ground.

"SCORE ONE FOR ME!" I cheered, transmuting myself back outta the black and back to my red haired self.

Edward's P.O.V.

Ah....this isn't looking good...

After fighting the ninja person girl and capturing her, I broke my entire arm off. And since I barely got away from Winry with an intact and broken arm, I don't want another incident like after breaking it fighting Scar...

OH GOD HELP ME.

"Yo! Ed!" I turned away from the captive, and towards Scarlett. She waved at me as she was coming my way dragging-
IS THAT A DEAD BODY??? She's way too happy about carrying a dead body. Then again, Scarlett has some questionable character traits...

"Good! You caught one of the two ninja people!" She praised, to which I felt blush rise to my face.

"O-Of course I did! She was up against ME!" I rationalized while trying to hide the red dusting my cheeks. She smiled at me, and all that flashed through my head were the times this action happened. When she smiled, I couldn't think rationally for some goddamn reason, and my mind overloads to cause my face to go red. This hasn't happened since Winry asked Al and I which of us would marry her when we got older.

"Well, I know some shrimp that's gonna die from Winry when you go to see her." Scarlett snickered. Just as I was about to ask her what she meant, I remembered:

My arm.

.....run.

Scarlett's P.O.V.

"I'm not the one who let their prey get away, Ed." I shrugged as I blocked a kick aimed at my head by Ling as I carried him over my shoulder.

"Unhand me!" Ling whined from behind me, and all I did was rolled my eyes.

"You're the one who attacked us first!" Ed simmered with anger.

"Still, this is no way to treat a prince.."

"Sorry, your royal prince, do you want another can of Whoop Ass on a silver platter?" I snapped, and I felt him tense in my hand. "Things are different here. Just because you're a prince doesn't mean you can just go attacking whomever you feel is hiding something. Some of us like living in the light a little, with no secrets."

"Well, it's not like that title matters anyway, I mean the emperor of Xing has so many children, in only one of many." Ling huffed passively.

"....do you know how much I'd kill to be royalty? Like, seriously."

"So you're headed back to central??" Winry jumped up and down in front of me as she checked my automail for any damages. "And how come Scarlett can keep her arm perfectly intact, but you can't Ed!"

"BECAUSE YOU DON'T OWN ME!"

"I don't know about that, Edward..." I snickered, and watched his face turn bright red once again. Man, maybe he has a fever or something- his face gets red so often lately, I'm kinda concerned.

Ah well, no use thinking about it now.

"I wanna go too!!~"

"Why do you wanna go to Central? This place is like your nerd cave." Ed queried, but I watched along with Al as Winry gave the blonde his just reward for the comment.

"To give my regards to Mr. Hughes, of course!" She exclaimed.

It took everything in my power to tell her. I clenched the fabric of my pants and but the inside of my lip and even then, it was still hard.

"Well I have no problem with it. You?" I shrugged passively and turned to Ed, who shrugged- which meant a yes in his book.

"What about work?" Al asked hesitantly, but Garfield, the man who took her on as an apprentice casually stared she could go with us to Central anytime.

"Wow we're going to Central?" Long popped his head through the window.

"Oh hell no." I stated. "I can only take so many people, and my limit is these three." I pointed to Ed, Al, and Winry.

"But my guards Lan Fan and Fou can come too!~"

"NO IS NO YOU SICK FU-"

"LANGUAGE SCARLETT REEMS!!"

"FIGHT ME PINKIE TOE!"

Sorry for the late update! I've been so backed up, I barely have time to write nowadays! But I hope you enjoy this chapter~
