Scarlett's P.O.V.

I stepped off the train as it hissed white steam. Rush Valley; a small town snuggled within the mountains and mostly known for its Automail engineers.

Figures. Winry would die to be in a place like this.

Hopefully Edward isn't broke over the girl already.

I chuckled to myself at the thought, and began to walk down the nearest street lined with sturdy houses and stalls for vendors. I glanced uninterested at the Automail; because I have the best there ever was. And Winry makes all her Automail with love.

"Yo," I caught the attention of a man sitting lazily at a table; a buff guy standing right behind him. He gazed with an irritated scowl, but acknowledged me nonetheless. "Seen a shortie with a red coat and man of steel trailing behind him lately? They've got a blonde with them too."

"Yeah, he was here the other day." Okay, I know there's more to the story than that. Wonder what the catch is. "Beat my buddy here an' maybe I can remember something else." His grin was plagued with black spots- ew.

"Really? You'd take that chance? I'm guessing Edward beat you then, and your trying to regain your dignity as a Automail Engineer?" I smirked as he began to sweat under the hot sun. Even a crowd was beginning to start up.

"Look! Another State Alchemist!" Someone pointed at my pocket watch chain that dangled out of my pocket. Well it looks like Ed's known around here.

I picked a bit of annoying earwax out of my ear before sitting down in a chair opposite of the other. The bulky man came stomping up and plopped down in the other chair; causing my entire seat along with me to bounce into the air.

"How is a small girl gonna beat him?"

"She's so screwed."

"Wait- she has good of a chance as anyone."

Setting my left elbow on the table, I placed my right hand under my chin. Let's just get this over with and let him walk away with a boatload of shame.

"Taking this a bit too lightly, are you?" His voice rasped out a chuckle.

"Naw, but I'm too lazy to go looking for my friends, and I'm bored." I answered nonchalantly. His eyes widened in both anger and embarrassment, but that's alright. IDC.

"Alright; no cheating," the man with the info eyes me suspiciously. What? I'm not the one lying underneath the table right now. "And one, two, three!"

The table fell beneath us as its legs gave way.

The bastard gave a triumphant smirk, but as the dust settled, I still held fast onto his Automail arm. Still locked and slowly winning. Our hands stayed in the air for a minute before I stopped playing around.

"I'd like that information now you lying cheat." I called to the man as I flipped my opponent and sent him flying to the ground.

I yawned through silence, and there was clapping soon enough.

"Well look who finally decided to show up." I wonder who's voice that could be.

Note the sarcasm.

"Yup. I decided to make a fab entrance." I placed one hand on my hip as I winked at them. Yet I know they saw me flinch before I replied to Edward. "Something you two seem to have trouble doing."

"Whatever." Ed snorted and started walking away, and I watched his face grow red. I almost followed after Al and Ed, but someone was missing.

"Where's Winry?" I asked, having a 'Where's Waldo?' Moment.

"She's staying here to learn with an Automail engineer." Al answered my question as he held a hand out to me. "Come on! Brother will leave us if we don't hurry up!" I shrugged and grabbed his hand in complete trust. I heard a few passerby's swoon at us. Huh, wonder why.

We raced through the crowds, and strange enough, Ed was on the steps; looking around for whom I can assume was us.

"Off to see your teacher now, are you?" I grinned, because if Izumi is anything like the other one, we'll get along fine.

"Uh. Yeah. Off to Dublith..." I noticed Ed's slow words along with actions. Like he was SCARED. I laughed and grabbed him by the collar before dragging him up the metal stairs and into a seat.

"OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS-" I began to sing at the top of my lungs but Ed of course stopped me as he took the seat to my right.

"Please science don't start." He pleaded, and I stopped for a minute before I began once again. This time with a smile.

"-TO DUBLITH WE WILL GO! THE TEACHER WILL SAY, "HOW IS YOUR DAY?" BEFORE GRINDING THE ELRICS INTO SNOW!!" I laughed and Al's mood only dampened. After an hour of comforting the armored giant, I felt a yawn come on, and I rubbed my eye tiredly. Ed seemed to take note as he kept staring at me.

Like the weirdo he is.

"You should get some rest. The past few days have been pretty hectic." He suggested, but I shook my head. I'm not gonna fall asleep! That's my one goal for this train ride!

Edward's P.O.V.

For the past hour, I've been telling Scar. to get some sleep, but she refuses! Is her life's goal to piss me off?! I had given up and began to shuffle my deck of playing cards as Al and I were about to play a round of Old Maid, until I felt something plop onto my shoulder.

"Scarlett, if you want to play with us, si-" I turned my head thinking I'd find her smirking at us, but I saw her brilliant red hair on my equally red jacket.

....did I just say her hair was brilliant? Ew. Mushy sentences.

Even though she's a pain at times, and yells at me, and worries about us, it's times like this that remind me that she's my age as well. She's still a teenager.

"She's so cute when she's asleep!" Al cooed across from me, and the card game was abandoned next to him on the maroon seat. As he leaned down to look at her.

I pushed some of her bangs to the side and watched her eyelashes flicker before settling. Her mouth was slightly agape on her pink lips, and she looked so tired that she could've slept anywhere at this point.

"Al, let's move her onto my lap; my shoulder is starting to loose feeling." I said as I took off my jacket, and placed her head on my leg as well as swivel her feet onto the seat. Once that was done, I threw my coat over her sloppily.

"There." I nodded and returned to looking out the compartment door. "I told her to get some sleep over and over, and now she decides to take my advice."

"She's a stubborn type of girl." Al joked, and I rolled my eyes. Stubborn only hits the surface, I thought.

"Oh, we're here." Alphonse poked me; pulling my mind out of its daze. For the past hour I've been looking out the window and combing my hand through Scarlett's silky hair.

"I'll wake her up," I told my brother, "go one ahead of me." He nodded, and left the compartment with my suitcase. I sighed and looked at Scarlett. Bending down, I swallowed my laughter until I got close to her ear.

"Wake up bitch I'm here to take your soul..." I whispered in a calm and level voice. Her brown eyes snapped open and she threw her head up and hit me in my chin!

"Ow! That the hell?!?" I screeched; exiting the train holding my chin.

"You're the one who decided to wake me up in a horror play!" She countered as she stood next to me rubbing her forehead. And I couldn't help but blush slightly.

Even if I was mad.

Scarlett's P.O.V

Damn Edward. Making me think a Homunculus had come to kill me in my sleep. This is why I should've never fallen asleep!

"So where does your teacher live?" I asked Alphonse as we walked down the grey cobblestone streets. White apartments lined either side, and created a nice shadow over us.

"Just down the block." Al replied, and I closed my eyes; smiling as I heard small children off in the distance yelling to each other. Then a quiet silence fell once more.

I wonder if that child of Izumi's will be in this world as well. I almost tripped at the thought, and concern took over my thoughts. Then that would mean that Ed's arm and leg-!

They would belong to that boy.

"And we're here.." I looked up and out of my thoughts to the white building I knew.
Suddenly the door flew open and there stood Sig with a knife. I guess we all flinched at the sight, and I nudged Ed in front of me.

Cause if anybody's getting murdered, it's him.

"Uh, hello Sig.." Ed stuttered.

"Long time no see.." Al added with an uncomfortable laugh. Sig then continued to pay their heads and comment on their height. He noticed me come out behind Edward, and smiled.

"And who is this young lady with you?"

"My name is Scarlett Reems." I smiled, and he placed a hand on my red hair before calling to his wife inside.

"Yeah, I'm feeling a little better." I heard her call out. 

"Looks like she hasn't gotten better from the last time we saw her." Ed sighed. Yeah, but wasn't the last time you saw her like, eight years ago?

The door flew open and a sandal came into contact with Edward's face. Al and I watched in confusion as the dust settled and Ed was O U T!
There stood Izumi; exactly as she was before. Garbed in white with her hair in dreadlocks tied into a ponytail.

And HELLA SCARY.

"Hello my stupid pupil." She greeted Ed,

"I heard you bECAME A DOG OF THE MILITARY!!"

Yeah, took a bit longer, but in hoping to start making these chapters longer and have more content.

Don't understand what happened with Hughes? Too bad, Imma not telling!~❤️
