The Day Will Come
Kayla woke up, early and ready to start the day. "I wonder what jobs ill do today." She said sarcastically. It was the same jobs, same days, same boredom. Kayla had a friend named Poppy. And Poppy was going to visit Kayla.
Kayla went to New York quite alot, to visit Poppy. But that all changed once they both turned 11. And since then, she had to do her jobs, that if she didn't do them, she would risk everyone's lives. Kayla ran downstairs - there were 400 all together, but she only had to do 56 - and she said "Hi." To her mother.
"Hello Dear, ready to start the day?" Asked her mum.
"Nope, and I never will be!" She muttered, sitting down and eating a slice of toast.
"Well, someone is in a mood."
"Wanna know why? Well, all I do are JOBS! I'm 16, and I have no social life. I had to quit school because of YOU! All my friends, gone. Why cant Joey do it? He is 18, And he did it before." Replied Kayla.
"Think yourself lucky. Some 8 Year olds do your job. And Joey cant, he has a job, he goes down to the docks every hour to check the boats are running smoothly. And I gave you plenty of chances to see your friends, but you said "Don't feel like it." Well consider yourself un-grateful. You get paid to do this. Some children don't, and they are much younger and more poor than you." Her mum shouted, showing her the door, to work.
"At least I work, unlike SOME!!" Laughed Kayla, glaring at her mum.
The day will come, when she gets to see Poppy. She ran through the kitchen door, and upstairs. And she had to climb all 400 of them and back down. Here we go..
"One, two, three, four, five, six. Oh what's the point?! Counting wont make it quicker." She sighed.
