[ Arc 3 - 6 ] After all that.

As Emilia, Viu, Puck, Meili, and Otto stepped out of Otto's dragon carriage, they were met by a cheerful greeting from Rem and Ram. Rem's face lit up with excitement, while Ram's expression remained stoic as usual.

Rem, with a smile, bowed slightly and greeted them.

- Welcome back, Emilia-sama. We've been waiting for your return.

As Rem and Ram focused on greeting Emilia, Viu took a moment to discreetly give some money to Otto, separating from the group momentarily.

Otto, noticing Viu's gesture, gave him a subtle nod of thanks.

The group continued their discussion, catching each other up on the past events. Otto, opting to wait outside to avoid Ram's sarcasm, remained outside for the time being.

Emilia nodded in agreement with Viu's words.

- Yes, I understand. It is important to visit Beatrice in the forbidden library and prepare ourselves for whatever comes next.

With these words, He stood up, then headed towards the appropriate door, having avoided the visit for 2 years of stay in the other dimension, and 2 months in this world for a very simple reason:

I am not this person she is looking for so much. However, I am not going to leave her in this library any longer.

Viu knocked on the door.

- Beatrice !

The knock echoed through the library, and after a moment, a small voice responded from within.

- What do you want? I'm busy...

Beatrice, the young spirit who was the guardian of the library, responded from inside. Her voice held a mixture of irritation and curiosity.

- Hello! My name is Viu, and I need your help against a person from the witch cult.

I'm not going to pretend to understand her. I'll start with a normal conversation instead.

Beatrice, upon hearing Viu's name and mention of a person from the witch cult, seemed to pause for a moment. Then, her voice became audibly annoyed.

- You want a spirit art against someone from the witch cult? That's a foolish request. I don't need to worry about those people, in fact.

- I don't want a spirit art, but a temporary contract that would prevent me from being possessed by the bad spirit of earth : Petergeuse.

Beatrice, hearing Viu's request, seemed genuinely surprised.

- You seek a temporary contract to prevent possession by the Witch Cultist Petelgeuse, i suppose ? she clarified, her voice taking on a more serious tone.

- I see, she said, her irritation replaced by interest. And why should I agree to help you ?

- I see, she said, her irritation replaced by interest. And why should I agree to help you ?

Looks like I have no choice but to tell her that.

- If I get possessed, my body will react negatively to being possessed by a foreign body. So not only does it self-destruct, but if I die all of Lugnica and half of Vollachia will be wiped off the map, and so will the Watchtower and by extension destroy the seal that holds Satella prisoner and which could destroy the other half of the rest of the world.

Beatrice considered Viu's words carefully, her eyes narrowing in contemplation.

- You're saying that if you get possessed, not only will your body self-destruct, but the ensuing destruction could potentially release Satella, unleash her power, and wreak havoc on the world.

Beatrice's tone was neutral, but there was no mistaking the weight and gravity of Viu's explanation. She seemed to be taking his words seriously.

- In short, I experimented on my body to avoid any kind of possession because I am much too powerful in my old world to let that happen. So against an evil spirit that possesses people with affinities with spirits, I am unfortunately a target of choice. So, if anyone tries to possess me my body will react negatively and I will explode with it as well as half the world releasing Satella in the process which destroys the other half.

Beatrice listened intently, her eyes widening slightly as Viu described his powerful nature. The potential consequences of him being possessed were truly catastrophic.

- So your experimentation has made you resistant to possession, but even if someone does manage to possess you, the result would be a tremendous explosion that could destroy half the world and release Satella in the process, i suppose, she stated, summing up Viu's situation.

- Yup.

Beatrice pondered Viu's words, her expression thoughtful. The danger posed by Viu being possessed was significant, and the potential consequences were dire.

- Hmm, I see, she murmured, her eyes narrowing slightly. And you want a temporary contract to prevent this possession?

- If I have a contract with a spirit even if it's temporary, Petergeuse won't possess me. I'm not asking you to bind yourself to me forever, but between that or the destruction of the world and therefore your reduced chances of never finding this person again, what do you choose?

Beatrice considered Viu's words carefully, his logic weighing on her. She had her own reasons for staying in the library and avoiding interactions with others, but the stakes were undeniably high; if Viu was to be possessed, the consequences would be catastrophic.

She let out a sigh and looked at Viu with a mixture of resignation and determination.

- Very well. I'll agree to a temporary contract on one condition.

- You won't leave the library, I know.

Beatrice, somewhat surprised that Viu knew her condition already, raised an eyebrow. Nonetheless, she nodded in affirmation.

- That's right. My condition is that I stay in the library. I won't leave this place, no matter what happens. Is that clear?

He stood up before disappearing in agreement.

Beatrice, satisfied that Viu had agreed to her condition, watched as he rose momentarily and then vanished, indicating his agreement.

As Viu disappeared, Beatrice stood in the quiet library, her expression stoic. A contract with an individual with such potential power and the threat of destruction was not to be taken lightly, but she would honor her word.
