[ Arc 2 - 8 ] Feirim Village
After 3 days spent with the Astrea, Viu and Meili went to the Irufurito domain, more precisely to the Feirim village. The reason for this was for Viu to meet its inhabitants. He wondered if the inhabitants were not going to be like his old village, but Meili and her Mabeasts immediately reassured him. They got off the Dragon Carriage and they both went to the entrance of the village.
As Viu and Meili approached the entrance of the village, the sight that met them was one full of life and hope. Children played in the streets, laughing and running around, their cheerful voices filling the air with a sense of wonder and joy. Men and women, dressed in simple but sturdy clothes, worked in the fields and shops, their faces marked by the toil and determination of rebuilding.
The smell of fresh bread wafted through the air, as a bakery nearby busied itself with its daily production. Chickens clucked and pigs grunted in farms on the outskirts of the village.
- It's beautiful!
As Viu looked around the village, his face lit up with a smile.
- It really is, he murmured in agreement.
The villagers, noticing their arrival, stopped their work to give them a curious glance, and soon, the children of the village gathered around, their faces full of wonder and curiosity. They whispered and pointed at Viu and Meili, curious about the newcomers.
- Hello everyone! Have you ever heard of a certain Viu Irufurito? The master of the Irufurito domain where your village is located. Well, it's me, and this is my adopted daughter, Meili Irufurito.
The children looked at Viu with wide eyes, their mouths forming silent 'ohs' at the revelation. The adults, gathering around, looked equally surprised.
A burly man, presumably the village chief, stepped forward, his eyes examining Viu and Meili thoughtfully.
- So, you're Viu? The master of the domain, eh?
- Yes it's me.
The woman blinked, her eyes widening in surprise. She looked at Viu again, her gaze calculating, as if trying to measure him up.
Finally, a smile broke out across her face.
- Well, I'll be, she said, her voice filled with warmth. To think the master himself would come to our humble village.
- Hihihi! Let's say that where I come from a noble of my rank is normally closer to the people. Okay, some nobles are not really free of faults, but I'm happy to see that it's going well.
The woman nodded, understanding dawning in her eyes.
- Ah, I see. Where you come from, nobles are more open and approachable, she mused.
She looked around the village, taking in the sight of the healthy children, the blooming crops, and the busy villagers.
- We are doing well, young master. The lands are fertile, and our people are making good use of what you have given us.
- I am delighted.
Viu then felt moved and said:
- May Od protect you.
With these words he left with Meili.
The villagers murmured amongst themselves, a sense of respect and awe in their voices. They were not used to such behavior from a noble, and the sight of Viu's genuine concern for their well-being touched them deeply.
The village's atmosphere was one of gratitude and hope, as if the future under Viu's rule was one full of promise and prosperity.
Now further away, Viu cried. The warmth and love of these villagers contrasts with everything he suffered in his own in his old world. These tears last tears of joy and gratitude.
- God, thank you! Od, thank you! Satella, thank you!
As Viu wept in gratitude and joy, a sense of peace washed over him. The gentle breeze, carrying the distant laughter of children playing, seemed to whisper reassurances in his ear. It was as if the world itself was echoing his feelings, offering a silent affirmation of his newfound happiness and freedom.
The love and warmth he felt from the villagers, so contrasted with the past he had left behind, was a healing balm to his heart.
- Dad is much happier. I don't know why but he suffered a lot. Therefore, despite who I am, I will protect him and make anyone who hurts him pay.
Meili swore on the luck Viu gave her.
As Viu's tears of gratitude flowed, Meili watched him closely, her heart filled with a new sense of purpose. She had watched him struggle and seen firsthand the pain he had suffered. Now, as she witnessed Viu's happiness and the love he received from the villagers, Meili vowed to herself to protect him no matter what. Viu's kindness and generosity had given her a second chance, and she would not let anyone harm him.
