[ Arc 2 - 2 ] A very dangerous Shaman
Three days later, Viu continually reads in the library while occasionally helping Ram with his chores. In the meantime, he met Roswaal who asked him what Viu wanted for not only killing Elsa but also saving Emilia from certain death. Viu answered three things: To make sure Viu is recognized as a noble of House Irufurito especially since with Felt's candidacy, it will be important. Then having a land but making the double of a village knowing that formerly he was noble of a village - Ram having forbidden him to reveal to Roswaal that he came from another dimension. Finally, until it is made to live in the mansion as a guest.
Roswaal had been equally surprised and perplexed by Viu's request. However, he seemed to understand the reasons behind his request.
- Hm...
- Coming from beyond the great waterfall, starting there is not just a question of modesty but also a way of saying that Lugnica is my new home. And then I have no problem with money or power but living in Lugnica without the given conditions would only be political provocation, you understand me ?
Roswaal stroked his pointy beard, contemplating Viu's words.
- I see. Your situuuuuuation is certainly unconventional, but I understand where you're coming from.
He then hummed slightly, a sly smile on his face.
- Political provoooooocation... a rather interesting choice of words, if I do say so myself.
- Let's say the other nobles would say declarations of war. Indeed I could have lied but you will know and I know your reputation.
- Ah, so you knoooooow me well then,
Roswaal chuckled.
His reputation was certainly well-known throughout the kingdom, especially amongst nobles.
He leaned against his staff, the smile on his face not wavering.
- I appreeeeeeciate your honesty. Many others in your position would've tried to deceive me to get what they want.
- Serious mistake, especially since I am a noble of lower rank and you are a marquis.
Roswaal chuckled again, amused by Viu's bluntness.
- You are quite candid, I muuuuuuuust say. Most nobles I know are hesitaaaaaant to admit their lower rank, especially in such a direct manner.
- Since our differences in rank are very high, I find it useless to hide it.
- Wiiiiiiise choice, Roswaal commended. Acknowledging the differeeeeeence in rank is the first step to navigating the politics of the Kingdom, after all.
- You are right, hence my requests earlier. They suit my current rank, after all.
Roswaal chuckled softly.
- Indeed. Your reeeeequests show a level of self-awareness one wouldn't expect from someone of your rank.
He took a step closer, his gaze boring into Viu.
- But tell me, why Lugnica? Why come to this country, of all places?
He took a pause.
- Gutseko is the headquarters of the assassins guild, Karagiri is not safe either and my skin and hair would not have been welcome. Vollachia would have been my choice if I wanted to become a simple warrior; which is not my case.
Roswaal chuckled.
- I see. You considered your options quite thoroughly, it seems.
He paused for a moment, contemplating Viu.
- You've obvioooooously given this a considerable amount of thought. However, I can't help but wonder, what exactly is your end goal?
- To be honest, I don't have one defined because after all the strong events that I have experienced here I take my time to first install a foundation before thinking about a goal, otherwise I will rush for nothing.
Roswaal's smile widened, seemingly impressed by Viu's answer.
- Wise words. Rushing into things without a foundaaaaation is a recipe for disaster, after all.
He took a step back, the look in his eyes thoughtful.
- I see. You're taking the time to build a strong foundation before setting your sights on your goaaaaaaal. That's a commendable approach, one that not many have the discipline to follow.
Later, Viu helped Ram with the sheets that he placed in their place while she rested. Indeed, he knew that since the loss of her horn, she got tired much faster and could fall short of mana but knowing that Ram was too proud he said that he did that to not be too lazy.
Ram had initially protested, not wanting to appear weak in front of Viu, but she couldn't deny that she was exhausted. Nevertheless, she was still a little miffed that Viu had seemingly seen through her.
As Viu placed the sheets into their place she sighed, her expression a mixture of annoyance and gratitude.
- You're quite perceptive, you know that, right ?
- Sorry about that. My six senses were pushed to their limit.
Ram shot him a sharp glare, her annoyance evident.
- Six senses, you say? And what, do you have the ability to read minds as well?
He then showed his deep marks and scars by lifting up his top.
- That's what I mean by that.
Ram's expression softened somewhat as she looked at the scars covering Viu's body. It was clear that he had been through a lot, considering the depth and number of his scars.
She then looked back up at him, a hint of surprise and respect in her eyes.
- Those scars... they're quite substantial.
He took off his garment.
- Indeed. We all carry our wounds. And all these marks on my body are the cause of my ultimate sens.
He stretched.
- You know, I don't know my elemental magic and regarding this world, it's only been 4 days since I've been here.
Ram's eyes widened slightly as she saw the myriad of scars covering Viu's body.
- Those are the cause of your ultimate sense, you say? They seem quite severe, she commented, her voice tinged with a hint of concern.
She then tilted her head, a puzzled expression on her face.
- And you don't understand your own elemental magic? And you've only been here for four days? That's quite an interesting situation you're in, isn't it?
- You're right.
Ram huffed, giving Viu a pointed look.
- Ram is always right, you know.
She then crossed her arms, a slightly wry smile on her face.
- But back to the topic at hand, you only arrived here four days ago and still don't fully understand your elemental magic? How is that even possible?
- In the dimension I come from, anything Od, Gate, or elemental magic is not known.
Ram's skepticism only grew stronger upon hearing Viu's words.
- Od, Gate, elemental magic... you mean to say that you come from a dimension where none of those things exist?
- True.
Ram's eyes narrowed, her expression doubtful.
- And you expect Ram to believe that? Od and elemental magic are essential parts of this world, and the Gate controls it all. It seems far-fetched to claim you come from a world without such fundamental concepts.
- I didn't think a world like yours would exist either, and yet here I am today.
Ram's brow furrowed, clearly irritated by Viu's nonchalant attitude.
- That may be true, but it doesn't make your story any more believable, she retorted. How am Ram supposed to believe that you come from a place where something as basic as Od and elemental magic does not exist?
So he tried to use the magic of this world but he couldn't.
- You see ?
Ram watched as Viu attempted to use magic but failed miserably.
"Humph... well, I suppose that's some evidence to back up your claim."
She sighed, running a hand through her hair.
- But still... elemental magic not existing in your world... it's hard to wrap my head around it. How could such a place even function without it?
- Good question. Well, I'm going to bed. And by the way, as promised, I didn't tell Roswaal about the fact that I come from another dimension.
Ram gave a slight nod, acknowledging Viu's discretion.
- Good. Keep it that way. The last thing we need is Roswaal being even more of an eccentric than normal, she said, a hint of irritation in her voice.
She then waved her hand dismissively.
- Good night, Viu. Sleep well.

At 3 Watertime, 9 Lunartime, Viu woke up, worried about Rem's health. According to the information received upon his arrival in this world, Rem was at risk of dying from a curse and not just any curse: that of a very dangerous shaman. He went to Rem's room, then discreetly slipped to her bedside except that he hardly touched the hand of Ram's twin sister, knowing full well that the latter had her nails close to her throat. However, she could feel him, he didn't tremble an inch as if he had faced death several times.
Rem's eyes snapped open wide, her senses heightened to a supernatural level. Her breathing quickened, and she went to grasp Viu's neck in defense, her nails a hair's breadth away from Viu's skin.
But her hand stopped mid-motion, sensing the lack of danger emanating from Viu.
Confused, she slowly retracted her hand, a deep frown on her usually stoic face.
- Who are you... she whispered hoarsely. And how did you get here?
- Viu Irufurito. Wants. To. Heal. You.
He spoke his words diligently and carefully knowing that Ram could kill him at any moment, well he could let Ram kill him at any moment.
Rem's eyes widened slightly as she processed Viu's words, the tension in her shoulders dissipating somewhat.
She studied him closely, her eyes taking in his entire being.
- Viu you say... and you want to heal Rem ?
She then looked away, her face taking on a bitter expression.
- A curse cannot be healed. It is a death sentence.
He looked at Ram then raised his hands signaling that he was not a threat to her or Rem.
It was then that he was writing destruction of curse and the curse setter when the words in front of something that entered Rem's bite before destroying all traces of curse in her and all this before Ram's eyes.
Ram's eyes widened in disbelief as she witnessed Viu's actions. She had been watching carefully, ready to intervene if necessary, but was taken completely off guard.
A curse, no matter its strength was almost impossible to remove completely. And yet, Viu had done it with such ease, the remnants of the curse disappearing before her very eyes.
Rem, on the other hand, was in shock. The curse, which had weighed on her for what felt like an eternity, was suddenly gone, leaving her dazed and disoriented.
- Can you take your arm off now, Ram?
Ram, still in a state of disbelief, slowly retracted her arm from Viu's neck, complying with his request.
She looked at Viu with a mixture of wariness and curiosity in her eyes.
- How...? she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
- My power is to make real everything I write. It is not magic but my gift.
Ram's eyes widened even further as Viu explained his ability.
- Make real everything you write... she repeated, her voice filled with disbelief. That's... that's not magic ?
- Indeed. Did you feel any magic in that?
Ram shook her head, her mind racing with the implications of Viu's power.
- No... there was no feeling of magic at all, now that you mention it. It was like... like watching words on a page come to life before my eyes.
- Do you remember my senses? When I arrived in this realm from the other dimension all the past, present, and future information came to me in the face and in one of them, Rem dies from the curse of the shaman.
Ram's expression grew even more stunned as she listened to Viu.
- You... you could see the future? And in that future, Rem...?
She trailed off, her heart heavy with the weight of that revelation.
- Not seeing the future. It's like you're reading the history of the past, present and future of the world that's coming to you in full swing.
Ram nodded slowly, trying to wrap her head around the magnitude of what Viu was saying.
- So it's not just seeing the future... it's understanding the past and present too? The history of an entire world just... coming to you all at once?
- And that knocked me out. Without Felt and Rom's intervention I would have died because a living being should not receive information from the world all at once.
Ram's eyes widened further, horrified by the idea that such a surge of information could kill someone.
- You received the entire history of this world at once... she whispered. That amount of information... it's a wonder you're still standing here, talking to Ram...
- Now that I'm done. The next day I'll go to Arlam village, preferably alone.
Ram gave a small sigh, understanding that there was no convincing Viu otherwise.
- Going alone... you're a stubborn one, aren't you?
- And Emilia must not know.
Ram raised an eyebrow at Viu's demand.
- Why can't Emilia know? I'd think a trip like that would concern her...
- Exactly. Because the shaman is in the village of Arlam.
Ram's expression darkened as she processed this information.
- The shaman... in Arlam village...
She looked at Viu, a frown on her face.
- You can't be thinking of confronting the shaman by yourself, can you? That's too dangerous.
- We have no choice.
Ram let out a frustrated huff, her concern for Viu's safety clear.
- You know Ram hate to agree with you... but you're right.
She paused, her gaze locked with Viu's.
- Just... be careful, okay? Promise to Ram you'll be careful.
- I promise.
Ram noded, her worry still evident in her eyes.
- Good... good.
She then looked at Rem, who had been quiet the whole time.
- And you... stay here. You need rest, and you're certainly not fit to fight a shaman now.
