Chapter 26

Audrey

"There is literally a room right next to you!" Thomas and I pulled away, panting like we ran across the country. "Literally, right there!" Gar stated, pointing at the door beside us. Instead of going on that walk, we stayed in the hallway and continued to kiss. We also talked a little, then we started kissing again. Honestly, we couldn't keep our lips apart from each other. But I didn't try to stop myself from kissing him or from kissing him back.

I grinned sheepishly at my sister, until Thomas kissed me again. I could hear Gar groan from behind my mate. "By the way he's kissing you, I think you might just get pregnant" that statement made me pull away. Thomas groaned from our little session being interrupted. "Okay. Well, considering the fact that you guys have been making out for almost an hour. I'm gonna steal my sister away from you" she stated, grabbing my arm and pulling me towards her.

Thomas jutted out his bottom lip, giving her an adorable pout that I would've caved into. "But we were gonna go for a walk" he said in a child's voice. We both know that we would just walk two more steps before we were making out again.

Gar scoffed and flipped her hair over her shoulder. "You said you were gonna take her on a walk like two hours ago!" she exclaimed. Thomas opened his mouth to argue, but he had nothing to say. My sister smirked triumphantly and skipped down the hallway. "I'm giving you five minutes to say goodbye or just to make out. I will personally castrate you if you prevent us from having sister time!" she threatened my mate.

She disappeared behind a corner, and I turned to Thomas. "It's your choice, babe. How are we gonna use our lips?" he questioned with a teasing smile on his face. Instead of giving him a verbal answer, I pulled his head down to mine, causing him to smile against my lips.

Unfortunately, we had to pull away since someone was groaning and fake gagging. Or at least I hope it was fake. "I don't think Dad appreciates having to see you make out with your mate" Dave stated, pointing a finger at us. Our dad had his face scrunched up as he cringed. Whoops? "I don't need to see that either! You're my sister. That's frigging gross" he exclaimed.

"Frigging?" I blurted. Is that his way of saying fucking? "And don't act like you won't be the same way when you find your mate!" I argued.

Dave shrugged and flipped his hair out of his face. "But we will have the decency to go into a bedroom" he stated.

Dad's head snapped to his son as his face transformed from trauma to teasing. "Just don't make more than 10 babies in one bedroom" he mused.

I fake gagged, Thomas laughed, and Dave blushed. "I think I hear Riley" Dave blurted before sprinting down the hall. Liar. Smiling, I shook my head at him.

"Did you tell Mom?" I questioned Gar. She shook her head and continued to chew on her nails. "What about Dad?" I asked.

She sighed and plopped down on the seat next to me. "I didn't tell anyone. This wasn't part of the plan. I want to be a therapist. I'm good at helping people. I can't be a Luna or Alpha; and being Queen is just not an option for me. I can't do it" she ranted.

I placed my hands on her arms and took deep breaths, coaxing her to do the same. "We can see if Dave can take over the Kingdom. He's a great Alpha, and he'll be a great King. But you have to take the pack" I said softly. She has to take over one of the positions. We can't just leave something abandoned.

Gar sighed and ran her hand through her blonde hair. "I don't think I can do it" she mumbled.

Shaking my head, I made her look into my eyes. "Trust me. You can do this. You'll find your mate and he'll take the Alpha position. You'll take over as Luna and you'll be great at it. Or you can be an Alpha" I stated.

Gar quickly shook her head. "There is no way that I'm gonna be an Alpha. Luna will be hard. Maybe not impossible. But I'll try" she said, taking in a breath of air. Her worry diminished, making the atmosphere less stress-filled. "We still haven't had our birthday party" she reminded me, bumping our shoulders together.

We are really bad at planning things. But we're really good at procrastinating! It's not something to brag about; however, being good at something is fun to brag about. "We can do it in a few days. I'll have Thomas call some people from other packs, and we can have a celebration and whatnot. You and Dave might even find your mates" I teased.

Her face turned a bit pink and she covered her cheeks with her hands. "He might not even go. It'll probably just be Alphas, Betas, and their mates" she stated, removing her hands from her face.

I grinned widely. "How many mated wolves do you think are in each pack?" I questioned.

She shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe half the males and females are mated to one another" she answered.

Perfect. "Okay. So all unmated people can come to the party along with one high ranking member to represent the pack. It'll give everyone a chance to meet their mates!" I exclaimed.

Gar looked unsure about my idea. "We don't get along with every pack out there" she reminded me. Well those packs can suck it up because I'm sure that the pack members wanna meet their mates. "We might have to increase our security and such" she stated.

I squealed and threw my arms around her. We pulled away when we heard the door open. Dave sauntered in with a frown on his face. "How come I wasn't invited to sibling bonding time?" he huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. Riley walked in behind him and took one look at Dave before she copied his posture and scrunched up face.

Smiling, I got up and swooped her off the floor. "How's my favorite little witch?" I questioned, poking her sides.

She giggled and squirmed in my arms. "I'm gonna tell Adam and Shawn!" she shouted, trying to jump out of my arms. Adam and Shawn are two of her good friends that are around her age. I haven't actually seen them in a while. "I knew I was your favorite! I knew it!" she exclaimed, struggling to get out of my grip.

I just enlarged a little girl's ego. "It's a secret, Riley. You can't tell anyone- especially Adam and Shawn. They will get sad" I told her softly.

She stopped trying to get out of my arms and opted to play with my hair. "Because you like me better-er?" she asked in an adorable voice. I smiled and placed a kiss on her head before putting her down. "David? I want hot dogs" she said, looking up at my brother.

Gar quickly stood up. "I'll make them for her. You guys can chat" she offered. Riley smiled and grabbed my sister's hand before they left the room.

Dave then motioned to the couch and I returned to my original seat. Dave plopped down next to me, causing the cushion to sink a little. "What were you and Gar talking about?" he questioned.

"Well, you know how Gar wants to be a therapist. But since I'm gonna be Luna; both of you have to take over a position" I stated. He nodded his head and let me continue. "So she wants you to take the throne and she'll take the pack" I said hesitantly.

Surprisingly, he didn't look surprised. He just nodded without any change of expression. "I kinda figured that. I don't mind. The throne was saved for you. But with Thomas in the picture now, I was gonna leave it up to Gar" he informed me. Wow. I guess he thought this through too.

This all works out then. "That would make Riley a princess" he mumbled. I almost didn't hear him. "She has grown on me" he said softly. I stayed quiet, letting him talk. "I know that you and Naomi are closer to her and everything. But I was gonna ask for both of your guys' permission to- uh... To adopt Riley" he said, slightly stumbling over his words.

I was shocked to say the least. I knew that his wolf is somehow attached to this girl. But I didn't think that Dave would want to actually adopt her. Apparently, he took my silence as a bad sign. "I shouldn't have asked. It was a crazy idea. And I don't want to replace her parents or anything. Naomi told me that they were great people. And I just-"

"Yes" I interrupted his moment of freaking out. "I fully support you" I informed him with a smile. "I know that you are somehow connected to her for reasons that we can't figure out. And you've done a great job with her. Riley idolizes you. I know that you'll continue to take great care of her- whether you adopt her or not" I mused.

Dave sighed in relief and leaned forward to wrap his arms around me. "Thank god. Can you help me out with Naomi? I don't wanna say that wrong thing and have her say no" he said, beginning to get more panicked.

Smiling softly, I ruffled up his hair. "Of course, baby bro!" I chirped.

He groaned and fixed his blonde locks. "Two minutes! It was two minutes!" he argued.

I grinned and shook my head. "Roughly two minutes" I corrected him. I forgot who, but someone had told me the story about how we were born. Luckily they didn't go through all the details like where we came from; if you get what I mean. "David Christopher Reed was born roughly two minutes after Audrey Bay Reed" I declared.

"Reed" he muttered. I smiled and nodded my head. "You're one of us now" he stated, bumping his shoulder into mine.

Laying my head on his shoulder, I slowly exhaled. "I've always been a Reed. I just didn't know it" I said softly. "So you really wanna adopt her?" I questioned, going back to the previous topic.

Dave nodded his head. "It'll be a first- a werewolf adopting a witch. And that werewolf is the heir to the throne. That makes things so complicated" he mumbled.

I chuckled. "Anything involving our family is complicated" I reminded him. I can't think of one thing in our lives that isn't complicated. "I want coffee" I blurted.

"Let's go get coffee then. You can tell me about this birthday party that you're trying to plan too" he suggested.

**************************************************************************

"But what are we gonna do about all the rogues- witches and werewolves?" Dave asked. We've been at a coffee shop for half an hour tops. I told Dave about our plan for the party. And he's just been blurting out difference scenarios of what can go wrong.

His first one was 'what if no one shows up'. That one was plain stupid. It's a party at a castle. We all know that going to a rich party attracts basically anyone. Plus, it's a chance to meet your mate. So who wouldn't go? "We can officially put the werewolves in one of the packs. The witches won't be an issue. I'll talk to them about it" I stated.

Dave bit his lip as I sipped on my coffee. "I have a bad feeling about this. Royals have a lot of enemies. What if someone sneaks in?" he whispered.

Sighing, I set my mug down. "The castle will be full of werewolves and witches who are on our side. We can beat anyone who tries anything" I declared. We have the Royal Pack, the Blue Moon Pack, and the Midnight Howlers. Everyone from each pack will be there, so that's three huge packs on our side. Plus, we have the witches who can cause major migraines for any supernatural that pisses them off. "Why are you actually against the idea? No more bullshit" I inquired.

Dave frowned and ran his finger around the rim of his mug. "My mate. I have Riley. If my mate has something against her, I can't choose between them. I don't want to meet her" he admitted.

Never thought I would hear someone say that they don't want to meet their mate. "You won't have to choose, David. You love Riley. Your mate will love Riley because she loves you. She won't make you choose" I said confidently. His mate would have to be a bitch to make him choose between her and Riley. "Come on Dave. Say you agree" I said, giving him the puppy dog face.

He sighed. "I will if you stop with that face. You look constipated" he grimaced.

Oh. Sibling love.
