Chapter 22
It was Sunday and that meant WWE was hosting Armageddon tonight. The PPV came back after a loooong absence and by the looks of the card, there was something for everyone. Many people were present live and in great spirits as they awaited the next match which saw Dolph Ziggler take on Y/N L/N. Their rivalry has been brewing long enough and tonight was the match that would put things to rest between them as the two made their entrances while the commentators recapped the whole feud from beginning to end.
Once introductions and other antics were dealt with, everything started on a high note as Dolph immediately rushed towards the war veteran, only to be put down with a Powerbomb.
Y/N wasn't wasting time tonight. He had enough of Dolph and his stupid bickering. This match definitly wouldn't be easy for either of them, but it had to be done to decide the victor and to further Y/N's career. He whipped his hair back and grabbed Dolph again, but the blonde man knew how to use the opportunity as he reeled his head back and hit the taller man with a Headbutt.

Dizzied by that, both men created some separation for a second as the crowd watched closely to see where things would go. The energy was on the up after an alright Tag Team match, so Y/N and Dolph had to put on their best right now as they locked up after a minute, trying to overpower each other. It was a pretty even exchange, but only because Y/N let it be that way. Not being moved by Dolph's push though, Y/N stepped aside and let Doloh collide with the turnbuckle pads before taking him down with a Sidewalk Slam.
It took a bit of the speed out of the match for a bit as Y/N git back up while Dolph rolled to the apron. Eventhough they wrestled each other before, they found ways to keep it fresh and exciting. Y/N shook his head a few times and stepped on the apron as well, hitting Dolph with a Forearm Smash before performing a Suplex.
This was a dangerous move since the risk of injury was really high. One shift and this could've been catastrophic for them, but the coordination was practiced well enough beforehand, so neither of the two was badly hurt. The ref checked on both men and started to count as Y/N took deep breaths and got up. He wasn't done yet though as he grabbed Dolph again and dragged him closer to the barricade. He didn't show mercy, spiking Dolph face first into it.

He had a satisfied smile on his face right now, inflicting much needed punishment. Y/N seemed to enjoy this a lot as he climbed back into the ring while Dolph was out. It was only a 4 Count so far, but time was crucial nonetheless and everyone knew that. Dolph used the apron to pull himself back to his feet and to get back in as the ref got between the opponents to check on the blonde. Y/N waited and listened to the fans for a bit, gauging their excitement for the ongoing match, while Dolph got ready to strike. He got the ref aside and quickly jumoed, catching Y/N with a DDT.
The first cover followed, but Y/N kicked out right after two which kept the match alive. He was a resilient warrior in general and didn't fall to every attempt, pushing Dolph away to buy himself some time to recover. Any blows to the head did quite a lot of damage, disorienting Y/N for a bit while Dolph took a deep breath. He was also able to take a lot of hits in any match he was part of and tonight, he needed every single drop of resistance. Both men locked eyes, staring daggers at each other as they got up in opposite corners. They knew something had to follow and within the next few seconds, the crowd was on their feet when Y/N got the shot with a Running Knee Strike to Dolph.
There was no cover because Y/N was familiar with Dolph needing more than that to actually stay down. So once more getting in position, he waited until the blonde man was on one knee vefore hitting the next move, taking a page out of an NXT Superstars' playbook.
This time a cover came, but it also just git Y/N a Two Count. Dolph was pretty worn out by now, woozy from the blows to the head, but he didn't give up. He didn't quit yet and dared Y/N to keep the assault going. Now, making Y/N angry was a bad idea as the army vet cornered Dolph and unleashed a barrage of strikes on his torso. Every punch hurt more than the previous one and getting Y/N away from Dolph was difficult with only a count from the ref breaking the torment for a bit. Y/N let out a loud roar and charged at Doloh, but the Showoff ducked out of the way and made Y/N pay with a Superkick.

The finish phase has been reached now as both men did whatever they could to win, but even after firing one of his best shots, Dolph couldn't pin Y/N successfully because the taller man kicked out again. Dolph was desperate, wanting to put Y/N to rest and move on, but Y/N was like a plague: he came back from any move and would unleash a worse assault. That was proven once more as Y/N kicked Dolph in both knees and then put the finishing touch on everything with a stiff Forearm Smash right to the back of the head.
Everyone watching saw Dolph's lights go out as he crumbled to the canvas. He was knocked out and all Y/N had to do was roll him over and get the Three Count.
This put an end to the mens side of the rivalry. Dolph has been conquered as Y/N sat in the ring, running a hand through his hair. He was gkad to have put on a nice match for everyone and to move on from the feud. He celebrated for a moment before disappearing backstage while the crew got everything ready for the women to do their deed for the rivalry.
