Chapter 20
Monday has come again as it was just a few days until Armageddon. The Pay-Per-View had a lot of quality content and matches scheduled already and tonight was going to add more fuel to the fire. Y/N and Liv were currently backstage with the bubbly woman having a cam-to-cam confrontation on schedule while Y/N would face Dolph's best friend Bobby Roode. Currently, Liv sat on a couch with her phone in hand during the ongoing match between Mustafa Ali and Austin Theory.
Liv:" Your match will be a breeze, sweetie. Eventhough Bobby can be tough, you've beaten tougher people."
Y/N:" The ring is my battlefield after all. I can't wait to see what you and Mandy are going to do though."
Liv:" Hehe keep your eyes and ears open then. We will bring the real heat once we get going. I just know Armageddon will be great for everyone."
Y/N:" Damn right. Seeing older events return is fun, especially because everyone gets an experience out of it at the end of the night."
Liv:" When we're through with Dolph and Mandy though, what do you think might be next?"
Y/N:" I have no clue. Hunter hasn't said anything yet."
Liv:" That's odd. But I'm sure he can figure something out."
Smiling at each other, Y/N leaned down and kissed Liv passionately. The two were perfect for each other, reflecting in everything they did together. Social media got its money's worth every week because of pics, short clips or some live streams the couple did which brought them many new fans and followers. Y/N also animated Liv to help with charity work every now and then since that was something he held near and dear to his heart. Helping the poor and the wounded wasn't as common as it should be, so positively adding to the support felt great.
Liv:" Make everyone proud, baby. I know I'm proud of you."
Y/N:" I will. For you and for everyone out there who lost their hope."
Liv:" That's the spirit. Now go on, your match is in a moment."
Chuckling, the tall man booped Liv's nose, but got a love tap on his butt in return, knowing the cute blonde meant well. Even if there was some slight tension in a few moments, there was nothing of big concern. Or so they thought as someone watched Y/N enter the hall and made his way towards the stage.
--------------------------------------------------------------
After a commercial break, Y/N and Bobby found themselves in the ring, across from each other. The match was started already, but they circled around for a moment to get a grip before locking up. Bobby honestly was close to Y/N's amount of power, nearly managing to push the larger guy back, but it actually didn't work out in his favor. Instead, Y/N hit him with a stiff and heavy Forearm.
Not the most original thing by any means, but it did manage to separate the two once more. There surely was no love lost at all and the trashtalk during their entrances didn't calm the storm either, so it was only a matter of time until they collided for real. Bobby thought he could be smug by shoving Y/N and yellibg right in his face before doing a Clothesline, but the war veteran was prepared and reversed the move into a Uranage.
The crowd was quite invested as they watched the action. Apparently the hype was real and helped further everything for the coming future, so support from the fans was always welcome. Y/N knew it very well as he was up again, setting up for a Running Legdrop, but Bobby rolled out of the ring to buy himself some time. While generally being a smart move, it didn't always protect someone from harm because Y/N took charge again sooner rather than later when Bobby got in his line of sight again, hitting him with a Springboard Crossbody to the outside.
This definitly got people's attention as both men were down for a few seconds. Everyone expected something, but this took things to another level. And by the looks of things, there was so much more to come. Y/N surprised people in every match, pulling out new moves or tactics to be more unpredictable. He pulled Roode back up and threw him into the ring before entering as well to break the ref's count. If this served as a prelude to Armageddon, Dolph was in for a bad time on sunday. It wasn't decided when exactly the match would take place, but Hunter seemed to have had big plans for it. For now though, Bobby played possum and went for a cheap victory by rolling Y/N up and grabbing his tights.
Y/N resisted though, kicking out at 2 and keeping the match alive. He despised cheap tricks like this and everyone who used them, so Bobby was going to pay for it. Both men looked at each other, Y/N being full of rage as he grabbed the canadian by the throat and just slapped him silly for a good while. The majority of the roster knew not to mess around with Y/N, not even kn matches or during house shows. Occasional jokes definitly lightened the mood a lot, especially when being out with friends or on the road. And the whole back and forths also helped the individual friendships as well. Tonight, there was no sign of that in the ring though because Y/N knocked Bobby down again with a fast strike right to the face.
The Glorious One didn't look so well anymore, feeling slightly dizzy from the assault he took up to this point. Bobby had to think of something to rebel against this and get back at Y/N. His previous strategy didn't work as good as he thought and he didn't want to risk a disqualification either. So he got to a knee and took a deep breath before scooping up his oncoming opponent and dropping him with a Roode Bomb.
Another pin followed and Bobby was sure he had it in the bag, but Y/N was too stubborn to give up that quickly and kicked out at 2 once again. The crowd cheered for the war hero while Roode really couldn't believe it. This should've been it, yet it wasn't. Arguing with the referee allowed Y/N a moment to recover. He was quite fresh, but a move like that still took a toll on him. After all, the young man was still human and could get hurt. Bobby and Y/N soon got into a bit of brawl as they moved along all four sides of the ring to hopefully get the upper hand on one another. The crowd and viewers followed each step closely until Bobby missed a punch, allowing Y/N to slip by and put an end to this match by virtue of a Ripcord Knee.
The following Threecount was just a formality at this point and Y/N was announced as the winner soon after. He smiled and cleaned off his gloves before getting up and celebrating as his monentum for Armageddon was shooting through the roof.
