The Stream

Grian sighed as he walked into his dark office and flicked on the light, leaving the joyful Christmas party below. He wished that he could take a part in the festivities, but there was a dare that had to be taken care of. Tom had challenged him to kiss whoever came up to his office. Yawning, he booted up his computer and flicked on his camera.

"Hello everyone, my name is Grian, and today, I'm going live for a dare given to me from Tomohawk," he said, taking a deep breath, "and I have to kiss whoever walks into this room first. I'm honestly hoping that nobody notices I'm gone..."

The small clock on his desk was producing an obnoxious ticking sound that seemed to fill the room. Grian sat in an awkward silence, pulling out the closest book he could reach. He brushed off the accumulation of dust on the cover and opened it up. The title read, Romeo and Juliet. He showed it to the camera.

"I've never read this, but I think it may be interesti- wait, what was that noise down the hall?" Someone was coming up the carpeted staircase, and it sounded like it was accompanied by... a bowl of chips? The person cleared their throat and opened the door.

"Um, Grian? We're out of tortilla chips, and I was wondering where they were," Taurtis said, staring into the blue plastic bowl of crumbs. Grian was whacking his forehead with Shakespeare's play over and over and over again, muttering to himself between hits. "Why did I accept this, why did I accept this, why did I accept this?!"

"So, where are the chips?" Grian put the book down, his cheeks bright red.

"I am so, so sorry for this, Joey... blame it on Tom!" Taurtis was now starting to blush as Grian approached him, pushing his light brown locks out of his face. He took Taurtis' hand and hung his head. Warm tears welled up in his eyes and fell down his face. Grian looked up and locked eyes with Taurtis.

"It's okay, Grian, now what are you doing?"

"I- I- I was d-dared to kiss the f-first p-p-p-p-person to walk in my office!" Grian said, sobbing into his friend's shoulder. Taurtis gave a kind smirk and put his hands on Grian's face.

"I'll help you," he whispered, taking a hand off Grian's face and running it through his soft hair. Taurtis pulled him closer until their foreheads were touching.

Grian took off his glasses and put them on the desk behind him. He grinned, and pressed his lips to Taurtis'. After a few seconds, they broke apart, both blushing and laughing. Grian had completely forgot about the stream as Taurtis turned back around to face him. He was holding his shoulder, embarrassed.

"Is it strange that I actually enjoyed that...?" Taurtis said, staring at the ground awkwardly.

"Not at all," Grian said, grinning at his friend. Taurtis held his hands and pulled him into a real kiss, pushing Grian onto the floor on accident.

"I really like you, Grian," Taurtis said, kissing him again.

"Same here."

"Did you get that, Sam?" Tomohawk's voice said from the door. Taurtis and Grian scrambled to get off each other, running to opposite corners, Grian sitting back at his desk. Looking back at his computer, he jumped back in horror. The live stream captured every second of what happened.

"I told Taurtis to come up here after he told me his little secret, he likes you," Tom said, beaming.

"You planned this?" Tomohawk nodded. "And I feel like my work here is done. You may resume." Grian looked back at the live chat, and saw a load of heart emojis and 'Called it!'s. He ended the stream and winked at Taurtis.

"Come on, Joey. Let's get back to the party," Grian said, grabbing Taurtis' hand and leading him back down the stairs.
