FREYA FROWNED in confusion, narrowing her eyes at Rick. He briefly registered the look on her face, before sighing.

"Officially, Maya was a barista at a coffee shop. Unofficially, she was an intel officer for ARGUS. Never told us about you, though. At least, not who you really were. You were always the elusive fiancée." Rick explained, and Freya's jaw tightened as she took in the information.

"I guess that explains the long nights at work, and why her funeral was suspiciously all paid for by an anonymous person." Freya bit out, and Rick nodded. "I don't care who she worked for. I knew her, who she really was. Nothing else matters. Certainly not anymore, anyways." Turning swiftly on her heel, Freya downed the rest of her drink, before moving around the counter to stand next to Harley, who threw her arms around Freya's waist, hugging her tightly.

"I didn't know her that well outside of work. She was an intel officer, she knew how to keep secrets." Rick said, remembering the fiery redhead who he saw nearly everyday for close to a year. "When she died, Waller called it in. She was part of the squad, no matter what. We caught the person who did it, and they've been rotting in a cell ever since. Leverage for when she finally caught you, I suppose." Rick said with a frown. Freya stayed silent, her heart hammering in her chest as the familiar burn of tears began to prickle behind her eyes. She shook her head, pouring another shot and downing it. If it weren't for her inability to get drunk, she'd be feeling pretty tipsy by now. Rick sat down on the stool that was previously occupied by Freya.

"If I don't stop that witch, it's over. Everything is over." He took off the small tablet on his arm, smashing it against the counter. "You're free to go." He said, and Digger immediately grabbed his beers, running out the door while Harley detached herself from Freya, looking at herself in the mirror.

"Hate to break it to you, Rick, but I've always been free to go." Freya said with a smirk, leaning up against the bar. Rick furrowed his brows in confusion. "I short-circuited it the second Waller walked out of that room. It's cute, really, that you put technology anywhere near me, and expected me to be threatened by it." Freya said, shrugging innocently. Everyone in the bar let the information sink in that Freya had been here, the entire time, because she wanted to be.

Rick shook his head in disbelief, before pulling a bundle of envelopes out of his jacket, Rick slid them over to Floyd. "Your daughter writes to you everyday. Every single day." Floyd's eyes teared up momentarily as he picked the first one up. Rick stood to leave, but Floyd quickly stopped him.

"You had these the whole time?" He asked, and Rick nodded slowly. "You had letters from my daughter, the whole time?" He paused, but Rick said nothing. "I'm gonna get you there. And you're gonna end this. I'm gonna carry your ass if I have to. 'Cause this shit is gonna be like a chapter in the Bible. Everybody's gonna know what we did. My daughter will know what we did. Maya, will know what we did!" Freya's head snapped up as Floyd marched out of the bar.

"I'll come." Harley said with finality, following Freya around the counter. "What? You got somethings better to do?" She asked, eyeing a reluctant Chato, and Waylon.

"Come on." Freya said, walking past them. Freya held the door for her, before the group began walking down the street again. Digger came up next to Freya, throwing his empty beer can away. Freya smirked as they all walked towards the swirling ring of death in the sky.

The group stayed behind a corner of a building as Digger threw one of this boomerangs. They watched the feed from the camera connected to it on a phone that Rick had stored in one of his pockets. Freya was beginning to think his pockets were like Hermione's bag from Harry Potter.

"We think that things a weapon." Rick said as the boomerang approached the contraption. "Here, lower." Rick ordered, and Digger zoomed in closer to Enchantress, and her brother, Incubus. He held up his hand, destroying the camera and the boomerang. Digger huffed in annoyance, throwing the phone on the ground.

"We gotta take out the big one." Floyd said, as he, and Freya turned their attention to Rick.

"I left a big ass demo charge down there in that subway." Rick said, and Freya nodded at him to continue. "There's a flooded tunnel that leads right underneath that building. SEALs, they can recover that charge, swim in underneath that thing's feet. We get in it's face and distract the hell out of that son of a bitch so the swimmers can blow the bomb. That's how we take it out."

The SEAL team grabbed their diving gear, and Freya listened closely as Waylon approached them.

"I'm going with you." He said sternly, shrugging off his jacket.

"We got this." GQ said, nodding in Waylon's direction.

"I'm not asking, bro. I live underground. Y'all are just tourists." He pulled off his shirt, stepping towards the water.

"Waylon, wait!" Freya called. He paused, turning to her. She ran over, launching herself at him and hugging him tightly. "Be safe, Waylon. Don't do anything stupid." She said, pulling away, and punching his arm lightly. He grinned, before turning, and diving into the flooded tunnel. Freya joined the others, leaning against the wall as Katana, Tatsu, spoke to the soul of her dead husband in Japanese. Freya, respectfully, didn't listen in. As Tatsu slid her sword into its sheath, Rick nodded.

"Let's do this."

Freya kicked empty shell casing as they walked through the subway. She stood on one side of Chato, while Floyd stood on the other.

"You gonna fight with us?" Floyd questioned the man between them.

"What if I lose control?" Chato asked, and Floyd shrugged.

"Then maybe we'll have a chance."

They all ducked behind pillars, watching the Enchantress' magic crackle around the weapon.

"Hey, everyone can see all this trippy magic stuff, right?" Harley questioned quietly.

"Yeah, why?" Freya asked, shooting Harley a confused look.

"I'm off my meds." Harley replied simply. Freya shook her head, an amused smile on her face.

"So that's your old lady, huh?" Floyd questioned Rick.

"Yeah, used to be." Rick confirmed, making Floyd nod.

"Well, you need to handle this shit, all right? Get up there, smack on her ass, tell her, 'Knock this shit off.'" Floyd said seriously. Freya looked at him incredulously as Rick shook his head.

"I do not think that'd be wise." Rick said, before taking another quick look around the area. "I'm gonna draw out the big one. My boys will detonate the bomb underneath him." Freya nodded at the plan, leaning her back against the pillar.

"I've been waiting for you all night." A voice echoed out to them. "Step out of the shadows. I won't bite." Harley shrugged, moving to walk directly out in front of the Enchantress.

"What the hell? Grab her!" Chato whispered frantically. Freya quickly grabbed Harley around the waist, pulling her back next to her.

"Why are you here?" The Enchantress asked again. "Because the soldier led you? And all for Waller. Why do you serve those who cage you?" Freya looked down at the ground, her mind racing at her words. She could leave at any time, so why did she stay? "I am your ally. And I know what you want. Exactly what you want."

Freya was drawn into a vision, her mind becoming clouded. Maya walked out of the large kitchen in their new, big house. A small toddler was on her hip, the little girls blonde hair falling in loose waves around her head.

"Hey babe." Maya smiled, kissing Freya quickly. "Welcome home!" The toddler began to squirm in Maya's arms.

"Mommy, mommy, mommy!" The girl cried out happily, as Maya set her down. She ran directly into Freya's arms, who picked her up happily. Suddenly, her daughter, and her beautiful wife, faded away to dust, as Chato grabbed Freya by the shoulders.

"It's not real, hermana! It's not real!" He shouted, his voice cutting through the haze in her mind. Freya snapped out of it, her heart aching as she nodded. They all walked out from behind the pillars, descending the steps as Chato led them.

"How long have you been able to see?" Enchantress asked him, eyes trained on him.

"My whole life." Chato said confidently. "You can't have them. These are my people right here." Enchantress tilted her head curiously at him.

"But it is our time. The sun is setting and the magic rises. The metahumans are a sign of change." She said, eyes shooting to Freya at the mention of metahumans. Floyd shook his head, pointing at the Enchantress.

"Lady, you are evil!" He shouted the last word, and Enchantress began speaking in another language. Her brother, Incubus, began stepping towards them quickly, as if commanded.

"Who's this?" Digger asked, exasperated, staring up at the magical being.

"We should run!" Floyd yelled, as he and Rick opened fire on Incubus. He held his hands out, and long shots of energy shot out from his hands. Everyone dived out of the way, Rick grabbed Freya, helping her behind cover. Digger threw a boomerang at Incubus, but it only exploded into nothing.

"We gotta get him in that corner. That's where the bomb will be." Rick yelled., pointing to the furthermost corner of the room.

"I'll do it! I'll get him there!" Chato yelled, nodding at Rick. Incubus knocked down Digger, holding his hand out, ready to attack. Katana let out a yell as she jumped, cutting his hand off. Everyone watched as it simply grew back. "I lost one family. I ain't gonna lose another one!" Chato yelled, and Freya's heart stopped as she looked at him.

"Look, think it through!" Floyd yelled back. Chato looked at him seriously.

"I got this. Let me show you what I really am." Chato said — he had already made up his mind. Freya placed a hand on Floyd's shoulder.

"Let him do this." She said quietly, watching as Chato ran out, yelling at Incubus.

"Over here!" He sprayed fire at the creature, who shouted angrily. Incubus stepped forward, kicking Chato, sending him flying back through a wall. This shocked everyone back into motion. Harley began to walk forward, as did Floyd, and Freya. Floyd began shooting as Freya's hands crackled with electricity.

Incubus knocked Floyd away as Harley, and Freya joined together. Freya held up her hands, lightning and electricity surging forward towards Incubus. With a swipe of his hand, he sent Harley, and Freya flying to the ground. Blood dripped from the corner of Freya's mouth as she sat up.

Chato let out an angry yell, as he turned into his true form. A giant skeletal being, engulfed in flames, charged towards Incubus. He began punching him continuously, backing him into the corner. Then, he grabbed Incubus, shoving him back into position over the bomb. But, just when it seemed that Diablo had the upper hand, his fire began dying out, until it was only embers. Suddenly, the skeletal figure disappeared, and Chato was in it's place.

"Blow it!" He yelled looking to everyone. Floyd looked to Rick, nodding his head.

"Blow it." Everything froze as Freya felt something in her snap, her heart hammering against her chest.

"No!" She screamed, the cry drawn out, and pained. Her eyes glowed bright orange as energy began emanating from her, engulfing her completely.

She ran, full force, towards Chato, and Incubus. Everyone called out for her as she dropped to the ground, sliding underneath Incubus. Just then, the bomb went off, consuming all three of them.

"Freya!" Harley screamed, looking panicked. But, as the smoke cleared, an orange light could be seen glowing through the debris. A large, orange-hued energy, resembling a strange being with the head of a fox, surrounded both Freya and Chato, with Freya at the center of it.

As the energy faded, everyone saw the blood seeping from a wound on Freya's side as she rolled off of Chato. He gasped for air as she sat up, fading quickly out of consciousness. Freya still smiled she stood up, knowing that he would be okay. Harley took the opportunity and ran, full force, throwing her arms around Freya. She hugged her friend back, glaring at Enchantress over Harley's shoulder.

"You're next."
