Damned

“What the hell is going on? You are keeping some pet up here?”

“It’s none of your concern, Nathan. Galina gave me permission.”

Nathan was opening his mouth to argue when he looked for a moment at Rose, and froze.

“Her?” disapproval clear in his voice.

I instinctively shifted my position and came to stand, blocking Rose from his view.

“She was at the school in Montana…we fought,” Nathan curled his lips, hate dripping from his tone, “I would have tasted her blood if that fire-using moroi brat hadn’t been around.”

“This doesn’t have anything to do with you,” I replied coolly.

“Are you kidding me? She can lead us to the Dragomir girl!” his eyes shone with excitement, “If we finish that line off, our names will be legendary. How long are you going to keep her?”

For eternity…I thought.

“Get out,” I growled, letting him feel the anger in me, “That’s not a request.

He looked taken aback but nevertheless pointed a scrawny finger at her, “She’s valuable. If you’re going to keep her around as a blood whore plaything, at least share. Then we’ll get the information and finish her.”

I was literally shaking with anger.

“Get out,” I took a menacing step forward, “If you lay a hand on her, I will destroy you. I will rip your head with my bare hands and watch it burn in the sun.”

“Galina won’t allow you to playhouse with this girl,” he screamed, “Even you don’t have that much favour.

I was seriously getting pissed off with that babbling, and I had to restrain myself from reaching for his throat.

“Don’t make me tell you to leave again,” I hissed, “I am not in a patient mood today.”

“This isn’t over,” he snapped, but I could see an element of fear in his eyes, “I’m talking to Galina.”

Nevertheless he left the room frowning and mumbling to himself.

Coward.... I thought to myself. But I knew I had to keep a watch out for him.

“Derzhite pishchu zdes’… (Keep the food here), Inna, “I told her.
I had asked her to bring Pizza, and a brownie. It was huge with thick frosting.

“Lunch, Not poisoned,” I joked.

Rose, who had just frozen earlier, finally loosened her stance and shook her head, “I’m not going to eat.”

I arched my eyebrows in surprise, “Do you want something else?”

“I don’t want anything else because I am not going to eat at all,” she replied stubbornly, “if you aren’t going to kill me, then I’ll do it myself.”

When I should have felt sorry for her, or maybe guilt at my own wrong doings, I simply felt contempt. She was so naïve.

“By starving to death?” I almost smiled, “I’ll awaken you long before that.

“Why aren’t you doing it now?” she demanded.

That was a good question which needed a bit of introspection.

Why exactly was I spending so much time? I could easily awaken her by force. Nobody had given me a choice. But maybe because of that I wanted to give her a choice. I wanted her consent, because after all, I loved her.

“Because, I’d rather wait for you to be willing,” I blurted out the truth.

“You’re going to be waiting for long,” she shrugged.

I laughed out loud, “We’ll see.”

I moved in front of her again. I longed to do something which I had been thinking of for a long time. I wanted to try to see if she felt the passions, the same way as I felt still. That part of me had never disappeared.

My hands snaked behind her neck and I tilted her face up, to place my cold lips on her hot ones, frost in fire. And as I did, she responded with equal fervor.

As I drowned in that one kiss, I felt life returning back to me, rejuvenating me, renewing me. Getting a taste of this love with heightened senses was simply so ethereal.

But I had something else in mind as I pulled away quickly, leaving her gasping. She looked dazed and I chuckled to myself.

I shall use my physical charm to lure her to eternity. I knew she could never resist the pull of my body, just as I was struggling to resist hers.

I looked around to see Inna, standing frozen.

I introduced her to Rose. She would take care of all her needs.

“Where are you going?”

I was preparing to leave.

“I have things to do,” I gave a chilling smile, “Besides, you need time to think.”

“There’s nothing to think about,” she replied defiantly. She looked like a baby demanding for a candy.

I ignored her remark.

“Poydem so mnoy….. (Come with me),” I instructed Inna, who followed me out.

I closed the pass-locked door behind me, locking away the most precious treasure, in the castle of despair. I hoped my Roza could forgive me when she would be awakened.
