The siren was ringing to her ears. But she still heard of what the man in front of him, said.

"What are you doing?"

That was the question coming from Spade. She got nervous. And even more nervous because of the siren!

Shouldn't the question normally be like 'what are you doing here?' to pertain, why was she inside the school building when she wasn't a student here at the first place?

Her mind kept thinking and thinking like the alam that kept ringing and ringing!

Or did Spade already found out her true identity? But that cannot be right! None of Yuki and Shou's actions aroused any suspicions except the time she was mistaken as an angel. However, that suspicion was already cleared when she was sent back to the other gwynzei! Also, Yuki and Shou were careful in their words and movements--

Her hands were itching to cover her ears! The noise was making her heartbeat faster!

Maybe she was reading to the atmosphere too much? At the first place, there was nothing wrong if she told him that she was checking the place! But it might expose her intentions. She was scared of the man that can see right through her!

She wanted to stop the noise. She can't think straight! She begged for it to stop. But there will be more confrontation in the future, she has to endure. She must overcome this one!

Should she tell him? In this kind of situation, it was a must to think of the worst possible scenario. She might get killed if she disobeyed him. But at the same time, Spade didn't look like impulsive like Weyer. Instead, he was really cold that you don't know if you already offended him.

She knew she cannot run away.

Then, the alarm finally stopped.

The silence stayed between them. But her anxiety continued.

She was anxious that Spade might hear her heart beating loudly. Yuki looked away from him, not knowing of how to answer his question that was too vague.

A man was strolling inside the forest, litting up his cigarette and puffed its smoke as he leaned on the trunk of a tree. He was wearing a cap, sleeveless shirt, cargo pants and a pair of sandals. He was dazing onto the scenery on the sky covered with leaves and branches, not until he heard a growl behind the bushes. It was a sound from a beast.

He looked for the source and he found a beast baring its sharp fangs and its eyes were glowing red. But that was not what the man found surprising, rather it was the body itself.

The beast has the body of a human but it was standing on four limbs. The face resembled an old man's. The human beast was not completely naked but it was wearing little clothes that were dirty and damaged enough to show the shape of its ribs and spine. It was really skinny and the cheeks were even sunk however on the same part, the muscles were stretching so much as if it will be torn apart at any moment.

Then somewhere far, the siren can be slightly heard. The man grabbed his knife from his pocket when suddenly, the man felt a sharping pain on his side. Another beast came from behind him! It has such dead eyes and its face was like a middle aged man. He was bitten by it! He felt the fangs sinking on his flesh. The bite wasn't wide but it was deep. His liver was affected!

He didn't notice the attack because he was too preoccupied by the beast in front of him that stayed still and growling. His abdomen was excessively bleeding, tainting his white sleeveless shirt. Then, the beast aggressively pulled off his side and his flesh got torn apart! The man cried in pain!

Its fangs left a bite mark and his intestine was dragged along with the discarded portion of his flesh! The beast was currently chewing it, eating his body part lying on the ground. The man fell on his knees and before he knew it, the beast at the front jumped on him and roared! Its fangs sunk on his head, his skull cracked and eventually broke into pieces. His skin still held the broken skull. The knife dropped from his hand. His eyes were the first to be chunked out, exposing some portions of his brain. He collapsed as his cap slipped off. The beast was chewing his head. Blood was flowing on the field, tainting the grass and their faces.

All students were sitting inside the classroom as they heard a siren. The students started to become noisy and without noticing it, the teacher already disappeared.

Then, a person near the large glass panes noticed a group of figures gathered in front of the building. The more he stared at it, the more he found the figures stranger. Then, he slammed his desk as he stood up, shouting. "Hey! Look at that!"

All of his classmates looked at the direction where his finger was pointing at. The students were curious so they went to a better view. The chairs scraped against the floor. Their palms were against the glass panes. The chattering got noisier.

What's that?
Animals?
A dog?
Or...
A human?

The teeth of the figures below looked so hostile.

Then, a man at the back suddenly shouted. "Get away from the window!!!"

The students were not able to respond immediately and instead, they looked at the student who shouted as he stood up from his chair and backed away from the window. Because of that, their attention was called away from the beasts below who were about to jump.

Suddenly, the glass panes shattered and students yelled in surprise! The people on the front were injured due to the broken glass. Their eyes were hit, their head, their arm, their abdomen! Broken glasses were stuck on their skin! They were screaming in pain, not daring to touch their wound.

Blood.

Blood.

Blood were endlessly flowing out.

While most people on the back received slight injuries. But that was not the one surprising... three students were lying on the ground with something biting them! After realizing the situation, students immediately backed away!

"Help. HELP. HEEEEEEEELP!"

The room was enveloped with screams of horror! A human beast was biting one's neck. One was tightly piercing into her arm's flesh while the other one was on his leg!

People were so terrified that they stumbled back. The beasts snatched their flesh away. The students crawled back with their eyes darted on the beasts eating their victims alive, until eventually they ran with all their might!

The other beasts started to jump on to the second floor, chasing their victims. The siren stopped. But the desperate shrieks didn't.

Spade suddenly heard the door opened as he was observing the flowers in the greenhouse. He recognized her face and her pigtailed hair. She was one of the gwynzei who got mistaken as an intruder. It seemed like she was rushing and wasn't planning to stay here.

'What is she looking for?', Spade wondered. She looked abprupt on noticing his presence. Then, Spade asked her, fishing out any hidden agenda or planned betrayal.

However, she was not speaking which made it difficult for him to reveal her thoughts.

This girl's eyes remain unchanged but her body is getting stiff. Is she hiding something? Or is she that scared of me? She is always quiet and expressionless that I can't get any information from her. But the camera showed that she is actually domineering. Are you wearing a mask or am I not worth the effort of interest?

With the latter in mind, Spade felt a hint of eagerness in his chest.

Then, she looked away from him with her head down. Her bangs covered her eyes but her mouth visibly moved. With the siren stopped, her voice was still too soft to be heard. What did she say again?

Hastily, she turned her head on him speaking with an audible voice. "Surviving...!" Her eyes met his.

Her eyebrows were not creased but the look on her eyes seemed like she was glaring at him.

Without breaking her gaze on him, she stood up straight. Her eyes didn't look sharp anymore but seemed huge instead. Then, her mouth opened with a tone of emphasizing the last word of her sentence.

"What I'm doing is surviving." She repeated as if her previous words were not complete enough to be understood.

Right after saying that, she slightly bowed down. "If you may excuse me, I have to leave now." Without waiting for his consent, Yuki strode out the room.

After closing the door, Yuki confirmed she was still alive. Spade didn't attack her or anything while her back was facing him awhile ago. The tension in her body lessened. She decided to forget what happened and focus on what is in front of her. So Yuki immediately sprinted along the corridor and she saw a glimpse of students sticking to the large glass pane.

There must be something outside but what is it?

Her body turned cold, fearing the unknown. So she ran faster, hurrying to end this anxiety. She climbed down the escalator, skipping two steps at a time. She didn't have her weapon right now so all she did was to clench her fist and listen to her every steps.

But as she climbed down, she can hear faint noises and it grew louder and louder. She was in the middle of going down to the second floor, when group of people were gathering on the escalator! If she kept taking the same pathway, she will be carried away by the crowd who were climbing up! Their faces looked horrified like something were chasing them. It must be the monster that Elixirietta prepared!

Yuki took a step back and turned around! She must hide first behind the wall on the corridor and see the monster! She will be in big risk if she confronted one considering that she can't attack in her human form nor pull any stunts to run away. Her body didn't feel any light nor agile at the moment and she might get injured if she were to act recklessly.

Yuki attentively waited for the crowd. Then, a guy arrived first at the corridor. His tears were streaming down on his face. He took a turn and found Yuki on the wall. Their eyes met but suddenly, the guy got snatched away by something and stumbled down. A human walking in four legs was eating the guy! His hand was trying to reach for Yuki. But she stayed still. A stench smell was entering her nose. What was this smell? It smelled so rotten.

Then, the students inside the third floor classrooms were leaving their room. The chaos started in front of her! A lot of people were getting snatched, bitten and eaten by these monsters! She has to go away from this! The monsters kept increasing.

The reality of mass murder was overwhelming her. She cannot bear to watch it so she ran away! Dodging the people begging for help and dying.

Then, she noticed one glancing on her direction while eating its victim and it was about to pounce at her! No! Don't hesitate! Keep running! So upon reaching the stairs, she jumped! And dodged the beast behind!

But then, one thing led to another. A beast was running towards her and targetting to catch her in mid air like she was some kind of a treat being tossed!

Is this my end? Am I going to get eaten like what I saw? I cannot stop my momentum anymore. If only I have my scythe... I can slice this monster into two!

Yuki noticed the smudges of fresh blood on the face of the beast, its nose was missing which left two small holes below the eyes, its lips were badly stretched making the cheek almost torn, all of its teeth were sharp with two extraordinarily long fangs on the upper jaw and, its hands were prepared to pounce on her.

"I will teach you how to defend yourself without your weapon. Just in case it happens."

Shou's hellish training suddenly appeared in her mind! Yuki can faintly see the upcoming fist of him and before it can reach her, she lifted her leg and voided the attack! The beast was thrown to the wall! She was surprised. She didn't expect her kick to be that strong enough to travel a roughly 10 meter-distance and was even slammed!

The sensation of its flesh remained on her foot until she landed on one of the stairs and almost tripped. But she continued running away. The beasts must be staying in the classrooms where there were a lot of students. That must be why only lying bodies remained on her pathway.

Yuki finally arrived outside the building and her eyes were frantically looking for him. So right after recognizing a familiar figure, she shouted his name. Loud enough for him to hear.

"SHOOOU!" She never shouted like this in her entire life. It was strenuous for her throat. But it was worth it. She caught his attention.

But he shouted something which made her turn around and realized what he meant.
