Chapter 15: Friendly Thoughts

~Your POV~

I awoke, sweat dripping down my face. Tears brimming my eyes. But I didn't know why, considering that I couldn't remember a single aspect of my dream.

I looked over to my side to see fresh flowers and a few cards on the nightstand. I grabbed the cards and read who they were from. There were four of them.

The first read:
Dear (Y/n),

Hope you feel well soon!~ Sakura
Rest up.~ Sasuke
You're gonna be better in no time! Believe it!~ Naruto
Enjoy the book.~ Kakashi

I saw a hardcover book sitting on the nightstand. I picked it up and the title read: Pendragon: The Merchant of Death
It was written by D.J. MacHale

It was a fantasy book about how a boy named Bobby Pendragon was a special being called a "Traveler", and how he travels to what's called "Second Earth" with his Uncle Press to defeat an old acquaintance of Press's, Saint Dane. It seemed to be a series of 10.

I put the book down with a giggle. "Classic Kakashi."

I read the second card:
Hey (Y/n),

I hope you like the flowers, I grew them myself :)~ Ino
It's my favorite flavor, I hope you like the chips I bought.~ Choji
It's an old card game I enjoy, thought you'd might like it.~ Shikamaru
Hope everything's well.~ Asuma

I looked over, and sure enough, there was a small vase of (fave flowers), a bag of (fave chips) and a deck of cards sitting on the stand. I smiled at their generous gifts and picked up the next card.

It read:
Greetings (Y/n),

I hope you're feeling well! You seem to be having a good time recovering. Here's some medicine that was passed down by my clan.~ Hinata
Heya! Akamaru had one of his teeth knocked out when he bit into a bone, and he wanted you to have it, haha.~ Kiba
Get well soon.~ Shino
Best regards.~ Kurenai

And as before, I looked over to see a bottle of healing ointment, a necklace with Akamaru's tooth hung at the bottom of the chain. I grinned and grabbed the necklace, placing it around my neck. Then I moved on to the final card.

It's contents read:
Hello (Y/n),

Get well soon! I am looking forward to our training when you have recovered! :D~ Lee
Heard about what happened.... Hope yah feel better! Here's my lucky kunai! I'm entrusting it with you..!~ Tenten
I hope you are well.~ Neji
Get ready! Your recovery better be quick because we've got a LOT of training to do for the Chunin Exams!~ Guy
P.s.: The Chunin Exams are coming up

I sweat dropped at Guy-Sensei's enthusiasm. But I couldn't help but think about his mentioning of the Chunin Exams. Was it really that time of the year? I looked over to see a kunai knife engraved with a heart on it. One side read "Tenten", the other with my name. I smiled once again, they really were the best friends I could ever ask for.

I placed all the cards back onto the nightstand and got an idea. But I needed the Nurse to get me some supplies first. So I pushed the little red button on the side of my bed that requested help from the front desk.

A few minutes later, a woman come in the door with a smile. "Is something wrong Miss (L/n)? Can I get you anything?" She asked politely.

"Yes, please, can you get me four sheets of blank paper and a pen?" I asked, hoping that those items were available.

She nodded. "Of course, I will be right back." And with that, she shut my door to go fetch the requested materials.

As I patiently waited, smile still not leaving my face, she came back a few minutes later with said items and handed them to me. "Here you are Miss (L/n)..! Have fun with your project, and don't hesitate to ring if you need any more assistance." She smiled and exited my room and strode back to the front desk.

I folded the pieces of parchment the wider way. I then began to write an neatly as I could across the folded pieces of paper.
One said:
Dear Team Kakashi,

Thanks a lot for the support you four! It means a lot! Just letting you know that I'm doing well in recovery and are quite happy to see that you care :) I hope you do well during the Chunin Exams!
                          -Best Regards, (Y/n) (L/n)

I put the letter off to the side once I signed it, and began scribbling onto the next:
Hey Team Kurenai,

Thanks a whole bunch for the ointment and necklace! I'm glad you were thinking of me and my health. I will somehow try and return the favor as best I can! Good luck at the Chunin Exams!
                            -Best Wished, (Y/n) (L/n)

Two teams done, two to go:
Hello Team Asuma,

I appreciate all the gifts greatly. I will forever be in your debt..! Any favor, don't hesitate to ask! :) Hope the Chunin Exams go well for you all!
         -Best of luck, (Y/n) (L/n)

And last but not least:
Dear Teammates and Sensei,

Thank you all for the support, and the gift Tenten. I'll treasure it and protect it with my life! :) I'm glad to know that you are all concerned for my well-being. I will be out of the Hospital soon, and will be able to begin Training just as before! So we can all prepare for the Chunin Exams together! :)
                   -Your Teammate, (Y/n) (L/n)

With all the "thank you" letters out of the way, I found myself to be very bored with no activities to complete. "Well, there was the book Kakashi-Sensei gave me, and the cards Shikamaru sent." I said to myself as I thought aloud.

I then started wondering about the Chunin Exams. What are they? How does the whole process even work? As a series of questions flooded my thoughts, I gazed up at the ceiling, lost in my own theories.

I wonder what kind of opponents there will be...

Hyello, Reader-chan's! I hope you enjoyed yet another filler chapter! Sorry, but I needed something to get the whole Chunin Exams thing started. And this was the only way I could think of. I will be updating soon, so, stay tuned for the 16th chapter! I can't believe you put up with me for this long! Haha
Buh-Bye!!
