Chapter 13: Monster

I am so sorry for not updating! Really, I can't feel worse... I'm just super busy with other books and things irl. But, here's the next chapter for yah!

~Sakura's POV~

Naruto and I made it all the way to the Village without any sign of Lee or Hinata. So, concluding that they were already at the Village, we headed straight for the Hospital.

When we entered the building, even though our breathes were shaky, we ran up to the front desk. Out of breath, we both tried to get the words out.

Naruto slammed his hands onto the wooden desk. "What room?!...." he shouted, clearly not being able to say anymore.

"Is there... a room with... a girl named.... (Y/n)..?" I asked in between breathes.

"Are you two here to visit along with the other two?" The lady asked, checking her list to see any names registered.

"Yes, what's her room number?" I questioned, now placing my hands on her desk.

"Room number 8 on the right, feel free to stay as long as you'd like," she smiled, pointing behind her.

"Thank you!" I smiled and started running down the hallway with Naruto towards room 8.

When we reached our destination, Naruto flung open the door, breath still wildly uneven. "Bushy Brow... Hinata.... We made it..!" He panted.

We walked in and sat in chairs on (Y/n)'s bedside. I looked at her emotionless, unconscious expression. It made my heart sink, knowing that I could've done something to prevent this from happening...

I noticed that Lee was holding (Y/n)'s hand as he looked down. I couldn't see his eyes sense his bangs were covering the top half of his face.

I didn't know why, but the sight brought a few tears to the brim if my eyes. 'He really does care for her... he really does...'

~Lee's POV~

I heard Sakura and Naruto walk into the room and sit down in the two spare chairs. I didn't look up though. I kept my gaze fixated onto the floor, bangs falling over my eyes.

My bandaged hand gripped (Y/n)'s. I felt tears build up in my eyes, but I forced them back, mentally telling them not to fall.

I was there with her... I could've done something... it's my fault she's like this... What if she never completely heals? What if she never wakes up?

All these 'what if's' ran through my thoughts as I didn't move from the same position I had been in.

'She'll never forgive me...'

~Your POV~ >>Dream<<

I walked down a hallway that seemed endless. Shadows loomed off the walls, giving out an eerie atmosphere.

I tried to speak out my thoughts, but not a sound emitted from my mouth. Raising an eyebrow at the strange activity, I kept on walking into the nothingness.

"K I L L . . ."

I was now speed walking.

"B E T H E M O N S T E R Y O U W E R E B O R N T O B E . . ."

Now jogging.

"N O E S C A P E F R O M F A T E . . ."

Running.

"L E T M E O U T . . ."
"I C A N H E L P . . ."
"L E T M E O U T O F T H I S P R I S O N . . ."

Now sprinting at full speed, beads of sweat dripping down my face along with streams of tears. I shook my head to refuse the awful messages.

"R E L E A S E T H E S E A L . . ."

Just as I felt my breath hitch, I couldn't move. It felt as if I were being held back by a strange Chakra Flow. My expression gave away my worry and fear.

"Y O U H A V E N O T H I N G W I T H O U T M E . . ."
"N O C H A K R A E N E R G Y . . ."
"N O P O W E R . . ."

My heart skipped a beat.

"I C A N H E L P . . ."
"H E L P . . ."
"H E L P . . ."

I finally screamed.

>>Reality<<

I sat up instantly, eyes widened and sweat drenching my face and clothing. But I didn't scream, shout, yell... anything. I kept my calm.

My eyes darted around and examined the room I was currently in. I was laying in a hospital bed, IV needle stuck into my arm and fresh bandages wrapped around my body.

I felt a sudden sharp pain in my abdomen. So I laid back down and sighed as I faintly remembered what happened before I blacked out.

I noticed the cast around my abdomen and left arm. "Great..." I croaked out, voice scraggy and barely audible.

The door creaked open and revealed a women. "Oh! You're awake, Miss (L/n)! You have a few visitors!" And with that, the Nurse left and four oh-so familiar Genin walked into the room.

All four of them gave me a humungous hug. Hinata, Sakura, Naruto and Lee then say down in the chairs resting by my bedside.

They all smiled. But Sakura was the first to speak up. "We're so glad to see that you're awake!"

"Speaking of that.... How long was I out?" I asked, my vocal cords still stinging from the sudden usage.

Hinata now had a look of empathy. "About a week or so... Everyone's already heard of what's happened. They're all worried sick." She replied, her hands folded inside her lap respectfully.

"A-A week?! Dang... I had no idea..." I gripped my head as I gave out a nervous laugh. "I guess when I heal I'll have a lot of Training to do, huh?" I joked.

"Don't worry! I'll be happy to train yah! Just trust ol' Naruto here to--" Naruto began, but was cut off by Sakura who knocked him upside the head.

"Stop yelling you idiot." She simply stated, eyes closed matter-of-factually.

I laughed at the scene. A sharp pain burned in my side, but ignored it. "(Y/n)," I heard Lee say. "Would you mind if I trained you when you are healed?"

I looked at him with a smile. "Of course not..! I'd be glad if your trained me."

He now wore a cheeky grin and gave me his signature thumbs up. I returned the actions with a giggle. But I winced again as a wave of pain washed over me.

"Are you okay? You seem in pain..." Hinata pointed out, her voice still soft and soothing as ever.

"N-No... I'm f-fine..." I smiled and said through gritted teeth, trying my best to subside the pain.

"(Y/n), you're hurt! I'll go get a Doctor!" Sakura said as she stood up to go and find a Health Aid Attendant.

"No! Sakura! Don't!" I was now gripping my side as I felt tears start to form in the ends of my eyes.

"(Y/n)! But--"

I cut her off before she could retaliate. "It's not something any Doctor or Healing Jutsu could help... Sakura, sit down and I'll explain..."

I could see in her eyes that she was deciding on her options. But she nodded anyways and sat back down, expression stern and unsure if she has made the right choice.

"Alright, you have to promise not to tell anyone, got it?" I warned, doing my best to ignore the pain in my side.

They all warily nodded their heads. "I won't explain the whole story, but the recent events that happened when I was unconscious. And I understand if you want nothing to do with me after......"
