Chapter Thirteen: Comfort

Virgil sat on himself on the couch, waiting for Logan to return to the couch.

The two had grown as close as brothers, and the two were inseparable. If one of them was hurting, the other was, too. They felt a connection only best friends could have.

Patton was extremely happy as they grew closer and closer. The two would stand up for one another if necessary. It was adorable.

Anyways, Virgil put on a random movie. He let out a sigh as he nestled into the couch. Logan soon appeared with two mugs of tea.

He gave one to Virgil, saving the other one for himself. "Thanks, Lo." Virgil said, leaning his head on his shoulder. He felt exhausted, but he'd stay up at least to finish his tea.

Logan let out a soft sigh as he focused his attention on the movie. He felt...happy. Spending time with Virgil made him feel just as good as he did with Patton.

Virgil set his empty mug on the coffee table. He leaned his head back on Logan's shoulder. He felt at peace, comfortable, and calm, for once.

Until he heard a loud boom of thunder.

He jumped a little bit as he heard the loud sound. He didn't expect it to rain tonight. "Are you alright, Virgil?" Logan asked. Virgil shook his head. He didn't need to be panicked. Not right now.

"Are you sure?" Logan asked once more. Virgil took a moment before answering, "Uh, y-yeah, I'm fine." Virgil settled back into the position he once was. He let out a soft sigh, resting his head against Logan's shoulder. Virgil slipped his eyes closed. He felt sleep overtake him, due to the exhilarating attacks.

Logan let out a soft sigh as he felt the weight on his shoulder grow heavier. He cracked a small smile, knowing Virgil had fallen asleep.

He saw a soft glow before Roman and Patton reappeared. "Greetings, my fellow friend!" Roman exclaimed. Logan put his finger to his mouth and hushed Roman. "Oh, sorry." He mumbled.

Roman joined Virgil and Logan on the couch. "When did he fall asleep?" Roman asked softly. "Just a few minutes ago." Logan said. "Most likely because of his attack." Roman's eyes widened as he looked at Logan.

"What?" He asked. "Why didn't you tell me?!" He had raised his voice, which made the sleeping side stir. "Roman, I can handle his attacks. I've dealt with them before, and he was fine afterwards, I assure you. And you don't have to be so defensive, Roman." Logan said, glaring at the other trait.

"Look, I just want to comfort him during the attacks. But...thank you for taking care of it. I appreciate it." Roman paused. "What triggered the attack?"

Logan let out a sigh. "You remember the entities, correct?" Roman paled. "I...I do." He mumbled. "It was one of those. Virgil spotted another one." Logan said calmly. "Was it Lon? Tap? Mars??" Roman asked, panic laced in his voice.

"No. Someone different." Logan mumbled. "Oh dear lord..." Roman mumbled. "I shouldn't have allowed Thomas to sketch it out. God, I shouldn't have!" Roman muttered to himself. "Look, Roman, it'll be okay. You allowed him to make it friendly, remember?" Logan said, placing his hand on the other trait's shoulder.

Roman let out a deep breath. "Fortunately, I did..." He mumbled. "I'll inform Patton." Roman stood up and exited the room.

Logan let out a sigh. He knew he felt a bad feeling starting to stir, but he didn't know for who.

timeskip.

Virgil slowly woke up, finding himself in Roman's arms. He wasn't complaining. He felt warm and comfy. He didn't want to move, not even a single bit. He let out a soft sigh as he buried his face into Roman's chest.

He slipped his eyes closed. He was almost back asleep when he felt someone lightly shake him.

"Dearest, it's eleven. Wake up." Roman whispered. Virgil nuzzled closer, pretending to still be asleep. "Virge?" Roman asked. Virgil gave no response. He was comfy, and tired, and no one would take that away from him.

Roman let out a soft sigh. "If you don't wake up, neither do I." He said, wrapping his arms around Virgil once more.

Except, Virgil had moved a bit too much to be considered asleep, and Roman looked at him again. "Oh, you're awake aren't you?" He asked. Virgil innocently looked up at him. "...n-no." He stuttered. "I just wanted to cuddle..." Roman chuckled. "You don't have to pretend to be asleep to earn a cuddle, dear." He said, pecking his unlikely lover on the cheek.

Virgil sighed, kissing Roman. He slowly melted into the kiss, feeling himself getting lost in the taste. Virgil slowly deepened the kiss, leaning as close to possible to Roman. He snaked his arms around his neck. Roman smirked into the kiss and sneaked his arms around Virgil's waist.

Unfortunately, the two slowly pulled away for air. Roman stared at his boyfriend, breathing uneven and cheeks flushed with red. Roman slowly pecked him on the lips. "I love you more than life itself, dear." He said, cupping Virgil's face.

"I love you more than words can explain, more than my heart can describe, more than anything in the world." Roman pecked him on the lips. "And I'll never stop."

Virgil felt tears brewing in his eyes. He remembered almost two years ago he would've never thought that he'd end up here, in the arms of his crush.

He wasn't complaining, though. Not a single bit. "I love you too...s-so much..." Virgil mumbled, pecking him on the nose.

"As much as I'd like to continue cuddling, we have to get up..."
