Chapter Seven: Sleepy Virgil Is Adorable Virgil

timeskip.

Roman and Virgil couldn't fall asleep. The bed was warm, the two were comfortable, and they both felt safe in each other's arms.

Virgil nuzzled closer to Roman's chest, his arms wrapped around his waist, trying to fall asleep. He was exhausted, he just couldn't fall asleep. "'m so tired, Ro..." He mumbled, his boyfriend barely being able to pick up what he said.

"I know, dearest. Just try to focus on sleep." Roman said softly, entwining his fingers with Virgil's hair, twirling it in different directions. Virgil pulled up the comforter and hummed softly in content.

Roman softly pressed a kiss to the top of Virgil's head. Virgil looked up at his boyfriend and softly pressed his lips to his.

Roman smiled softly in the kiss and kissed back. Virgil pulled back slowly, almost as if he was regretting it, and he was. He wanted to kiss Roman forever and ever, but he knew he couldn't, even if he thought he could. Sleepiness slowly consumed the two, and they drifted off in each other's arms.

Sunlight poured through the curtains as Virgil slowly stirred. The golden sun shone brightly and spilled through the room, Virgil slowly drinking it in. He slowly turned over on his other side, but didn't open his eyes.

He turned back over to his side to avoid the bright thing in the sky called the "Sun." He nuzzled back into Roman's chest and sighed contently. He wanted nothing more than to cuddle with his boyfriend.

Roman, however, was stirring himself. He tried to stay asleep, but the more he tried, the more he awoke. He eventually gave up on that and just slowly opened his eyes.

The sun illuminated Virgil's face like a halo, and just brought out the features that Roman would hardly see due to the makeup covering his face. His eyes were fluttered closed and rested gently on his face, his lips were slightly parted and his face was dotted with tiny freckles.

Roman sighed happily and softly pressed a kiss to the top of his head. Virgil slowly opened his eyes, surprised to see his boyfriend awake. "Mornin'..." He mumbled, slowly nuzzling back into Roman's chest.

"Good morning, dearest." Roman said softly, slowly pressing another kiss to his head. Virgil sighed happily and nuzzled closer to his chest. "I love you, Ro..." He mumbled, looking up at Roman. "I love you too, kitten." Roman said, pressing a brief kiss to his lover's lips.

"Do we have to get up...? I'm comfy..." Virgil whined, slowly pulling away from the kiss. "Unfortunately so, princess. We can lay here for a few more minutes, though..." Roman said, slipping his eyes closed, a small smile on his face.

Virgil looked back up at his boyfriend, smiling happily. He pressed a kiss to his cheek and closed his eyes as well. Even if it was only a few minutes, he'd be happy to spend that time cuddling with his boyfriend.

Virgil sighed happily and leaned his head on Roman's shoulder. This was one of the most peaceful places, mostly because it held such happy memories, but also because of it's charming and calming atmosphere.

Roman smiled lightly and wrapped an arm around Virgil. He took a deep breath and slowly let it out, taking in the pink and orange colors painting the sky. The sunset was beautiful, and even more beautiful here.

Roman absolutely loved his secret garden. It was still in perfect condition. If anything, it had gotten prettier.

Roman focused his attention on Virgil once more. He absolutely looked lovely in this lighting. The wind blowing softly through his hair, the soft expression on his face, or the way he was leaned against him, taking and providing Roman's warmth.

"Isn't this lovely, dearest?" Roman asked, breaking the comfortable silence. "God, of course it is." Virgil said, leaving more into Roman's touch. "This is the most peaceful place I've ever been..." Roman would have to remember that.

"Glad to hear, Virgil." Roman said, softly pressing a kiss to his cheek. The soft chirping of birds was right above them, it added more to the atmosphere. This place was wonderous. This was indeed the place these two had their first kiss.

"Virgil, dear, might I request a favor?" Roman asked softly, innocence plagued his voice. "Hmm? What kind of favor?" Virgil asked, looking up at the royal trait. Roman sighed softly, "Would you sing for me?"

Virgil almost froze. He was terrified of singing in front of people, especially Roman. He loved him, so much, but that didn't stop him from being scared.

"I-I don't know, Ro..." He mumbled. He was so hesitant about this, but he loved him. "Please? You have such a beautiful voice..." Roman begged, still looking down innocently at his boyfriend.

Virgil sighed, averting Roman's gaze. "Anything specific?" He asked, still looking away from Roman. "No, all I need is to hear your voice right now..." He muttered, pecking Virgil softly on the cheek. It took awhile for Virgil to think of a song, but once he did, he found it perfectly fitting for the setting. Birds softly chirped above, giving a perfect beginning for the song.

"Clouds are marchin' along, singin' a song, just like they do..." Virgil began softly, still averting Roman's gaze. "If the clouds were singin' a song, I'd sing along, wouldn't you too?"

Words fell beautifully out of his mouth, pitches and harmonies completed with perfection. Roman was definitely awestruck. He'd rarely get to hear Virgil sing, but when he did, God was it beautiful. He considered he was a better singer than he was.

"If you just knew what they could do, oh if you just knew, what would they do?" Virgil kept his voice almost quiet, in fear of messing up the lyrics or pitches. It's not like Roman had heard the song, but he was scared anyways.

"And if the birds are just all the words," A little bird passed by, landing on the seat they were sitting on, looking at Virgil as if this were planned. This place did have a fairytale atmosphere, so he couldn't say he was surprised. Virgil smiled softly and kept singing.

"Flyin' along, singin' a song. What would they do? If they just knew, what they could do, Of if they just knew..." Virgil had decided that he had sung enough, and that it wasn't worth singing more than needed.

Roman, however, only wanted more. He loved the way words just flew off the tip of his tongue and into a pretty melody. God, it was the most beautiful thing he'd ever heard, and he wished he'd get to hear it more. I guess it isn't exactly special if you hear it all the time...

He kept staring at Virgil, a soft yet shocked expression in his eyes. Virgil glanced nervously at him, waiting for judgement to pool out of his lips.

"W...Was I bad...?" He asked softly, anxiety and fear laced in his voice. Roman finally realized h was staring and shook his head swiftly. Looking back at his boyfriend, he softly took his hand. "God, you were anything but bad, Virgil. That was beautiful..." Roman said, a small smile on his face.

Virgil slowly let the fear  in him boil down into adoration. The way his boyfriend spoke with so little intent to worry him and the happiness in it just made his heart melt into a fast paced beat. He had never been so happy and fear ridden in his life.

"I...I was?" He stuttered the first word, feeling blush rise in his cheeks. "Of course, dearest. You're singing is wonderful, I wish you'd sing more..." Roman said, leaning down a bit so that he and Virgil were face to face, only a few centimeters apart.

Virgil closed the gap between them and slipped his eyes closed, softly pressing his lips to the boy in front of him. He loved him so gosh darn much, he couldn't, and wouldn't, imagine a world without him. Roman was everything to him, and he was still a bit in shock that Roman loved him, not that he was complaining.

Roman pulled away from the kiss, realizing that he had his arms wrapped around his waist and Virgil had snaked his around the Prince's neck. Virgil looked at him softly, still breathless from the kiss they shared.

"I love you," He paused, pressing a quick kiss to his lips. "So much, you don't even understand..." "As do I, Virgil. Even a million wouldn't be enough to describe the way I feel around you..." Roman said softly, pulling him in for another kiss.

Though this one was much shorter, this one felt just as loving as the last. Virgil was the one to pull away this time, looking at Roman with a small smile.

Roman pulled him into a hug, resting his forehead on his. The two sat in silence, completely content with holding each other. The background noise was peaceful, the soft sound of birds had grown slightly, seeing as some more noticed the presence of Roman. This was his garden, everything fairytale-like.

Virgil sighed happily, this was the most peaceful he had ever felt. He hoped Roman had felt the same. He nuzzled into Roman's shoulder, always finding a way to be closer to his loving boyfriend.

It wasn't until they noticed the soft rain that the birds stopped chirping to find shelter under a tree. "We should head inside, I don't want to get soaked." Roman said, looking at his boyfriend. "It's only a light drizzle, you've been through worse. It hardly ever rains, too. Just a few more minutes, please?" Virgil begged, looking at his boyfriend softly and giving him the best puppy eyes he could do.

Roman thought about it for a moment before remembering Virgil had loved the rain. He signed, "Alright, just a few more minutes."
