"What are you doing here?" Jeno slightly shrieks, grip on the door tightening as he emphasizes his words.
A chuckle escapes Jaemin's chapped lips, and Jeno doesn't need to be told or think twice that the elder boy is definitely amused by him as always for no reason.
Or there is but it's completely ridiculous.
"Not even going to let me in?" Jaemin asks first, glancing over Jeno's shoulder to get a peek of the inside of the younger boy's humble home.
Glaring, Jeno shakes his head. "As if," he hisses back.
"Aww, that's too bad." An exaggerated pout forms itself on Jaemin's lips, irking Jeno so easily.
"Jeno, honey! Are you not going to let your guest in?" His mom's voice echoes from the kitchen, a little muffled but Jeno clearly understands.
Grunting on his spot, he yells back. "No, we're just going to talk outside!" Immediately closing the door behind him and mindlessly snatches Jaemin's wrist, tugging him away.
"Can you please tell me why you're here?" A little breathless for no reason, turning to face Jaemin properly with his arms crossed.
The pink haired boy snickers, "paying a visit," shrugging his shoulders in nonchalance. "Also wanted to ask about that project of yours." He brings up at the end.
Like a bell was rung in Jeno's head from the reminder, he blinks furiously for a moment.
"Why didn't you inform me beforehand?" He asks instead, still flustered by Jaemin's sudden presence on a Sunday.
Jaemin looks at him as if he was being stupid right now. And quite frankly, from the way the elder boy was staring at him, it low-key makes Jeno slowly believe it too.
Those dark brown eyes can be intimidating and deceiving, in Jeno's unspoken opinion.
"How could I? I don't have your number." Jaemin points out matter-of-a-factly.
When Jeno pauses, a bit speechless, Jaemin then adds. "I would've had it if you accepted mine, but you didn't... Oh well." Calmly saying.
But the grin on his face has Jeno frowning. Feeling guilty and embarrassed at the same time, totally a bad thing to feel.
"So what's it gonna be, pretty boy?" Jaemin lilts, lips twitching; fighting the urge to widen his grin. "Gonna give me your number or what?"
"No way!" Jeno snaps, eyes widen when he emphasizes his point.
The tattoo artist snickers, "then I'll just have to come over here unannounced everytime." Continuing to tease Jeno with his obvious and knowing facts.
The raven haired boy puffs out a breath, slowly getting irritated with Jaemin and his stupid teasing.
He hates it. That Jaemin makes a point, unlike Yangyang sometimes. Jeno can't tell him off or anything to get the elder boy to at least shut up.
Because Jaemin hasn't been wrong, yet. Jeno has nothing to correct him about.
Especially with this.
Pondering in thought for a brief moment, a defeated sigh escapes Jeno's lips once he realizes what he reluctantly has to do, just because it makes total sense.
And because he doesn't want to have Jaemin appearing on his doorstep all the time, unannounced. To which is embarrassing for Jeno.
"Fine," Jaemin's eyes visibly lit up in joy. Anticipating all while as he lets Jeno take his time to unlock his phone.
Not forgetting to cover his screen away from Jaemin's observant eyes that could see his password.
It has the pink haired boy stifle a laugh.
After quickly handing his own phone to the younger boy and soon getting it back once he was done typing his number in, Jaemin looks at it.
Jeno furrows his eyebrows when the pink haired boy types something, blinking when Jaemin looks up and flashes him a smirk.
"Besides trying to get your number and all that, I was thinking if I could take you out somewhere today," Jaemin suddenly says out of the blue.
It has Jeno on pause, entirely. Lips parted but no words come out, eyes staring at Jaemin's, looking a little lost.
"W- huh?" Jeno soon finally blurts out. "For the project, right?" Tilting his head to the side.
Don't get him wrong, he just wants to clarify what Jaemin meant. They do have a deal after all.
"Of course it's for your photography project." Jaemin replies in a second, but soon his calm voice changes into a teasing one. What's even new?
"Unless... You want it to be something else..." He drawls in a way that has Jeno not knowing what to say or do.
Assuming his possible intentions, because if Jeno's being honest right now, he's too embarrassed and hesitant to ask.
Scrunching his face, Jeno mutters. "Bastard." And huffs in annoyance when Jaemin starts laughing in pure amusement.
It just annoys him, he doesn't know how to tell Jaemin off.
Having to wait for Jaemin to calm down from his high, Jeno hopes his mother isn't watching from the window or something.
And anyone from his school or someone he knows that could be passing by.
No offense to Jaemin if he assumes Jeno is embarrassed of him. Not like he'd be offended that much anyway, seems like Jaemin is very open-minded at times.
"I'm just saying, if you want us to hangout instead." Jaemin soon shrugs his shoulders with a silly smile.
Jeno purses his lips, pondering in thought instead of immediately rejecting Jaemin's offer like he'd normally do.
It's because of that stupidly fair deal.
"It's a Sunday." He mumbles, not thinking of a better excuse to hopefully change Jaemin's mind.
But he doesn't really need to, because Jaemin hums in response. "It doesn't have to be today, actually." He considers Jeno's comfort.
"It can be any day, even while I'm helping you out with the photography project." He flashes him a kind smile.
"About that by the way, now that we have each other's numbers. Let me know when we can meet up and stuff, so I can make time for you."
Jeno doesn't know why, but his face starts to heat up by that simple sentence, specifically the last one.
Jaemin making time for him? It's like those scenarios in books Jeno has read before.
Nonetheless, he nods off quietly. Voice suddenly not cooperating with him to vocally respond. It has Jaemin beaming.
