𑁍 Chapter Twenty-Six: Challenge
"I'm not going." Jeno strictly repeats for the fifth time in a row now, crossing his arms as he stares down at Donghyuck.
The said tanned male grunts, "come on! It's just a quick session of getting a small tattoo and when we're done, we can head off. Simple, right?"
"Still not going."
"Jeno, it's not a party. We're going to a tattoo studio." Donghyuck sassily points out with his hands gesturing each word he spits out, trying to be patient with his friend.
"So? Doesn't mean I want to go." Jeno shrugs his shoulders with a brow quirked up in a sassy manner in return. "And why am I going with you anyway?"
"Wow, sounds a little harsh, Jen." Donghyuck sneers that makes the raven haired boy roll his eyes in return.
"But you're coming with me for company. You know, like what you did for Yangyang that one time!" He brings up.
Jeno visibly pauses and then clears his throat, "I'm busy."
"Bullshit," Donghyuck instantly snaps back. "I don't consider "studying" as "busy" especially when there's no exams coming up." He air quotes with his fingers.
"So you're coming with me. Either this or a party, your choice, doll." Donghyuck bites back a cheeky smile when he sees Jeno's cheeks slowly turning pink.
Damn, what did Jaemin do to him?
Or is his friend just that innocent or easy to tease? Because face it, nobody is a hundred percent innocent.
"Why don't you want to go, though?" He interrupts Jeno's train of thoughts, thinking if he can come up with an excuse to not go with Donghyuck to get a silly tattoo done.
Jeno averts his gaze and mutters something incoherent, just as Donghyuck was about to tell him to speak up, he caught the mention of Jaemin's name.
So he doesn't bother and quietly snickers whilst Jeno's not looking.
"Jen, we literally gotta go or I'll miss my appointment." He whines, snatching Jeno's wrist as he ignores the shriek the raven haired boy let out.
If he can't make Jeno say "yes" then he'll consider silence means "yes" at this point and drag his cute ass out there.

"You know what you did was practically a crime, Donghyuck?" Jeno mutters and emphasizes, rubbing his wrist whilst standing behind the tanned male.
Donghyuck shushes him and continues talking to Jaehyun, who rolls his eyes the second the tanned male starts acting all innocent since Jeno's here.
Batting his eyelashes here and there with his wide mischievous grin that Jeno sadly cannot see.
Poor little guy doesn't even know his friend is luring him in to a trap, that is actually very harmless- unless Jaemin turns out to be an asshole or something.
"Shush it Donghyuck and just take a seat," Jaehyun clicks his tongue as he gestures to the available chair with his thumb.
"Thanks, hyung! I promise I won't be late next time!" Donghyuck snickers at him as he skips off with Jeno trailing behind him like a lost chick.
"Is this tattoo of yours big?" When Jeno gets a nod in response, he frowns. "Wouldn't that hurt?" His usual worrywart instincts immediately kick in.
"Now now Jeno, what is life without getting to feel pain?" Donghyuck lightly states with a silly smile on his face.
That's one of the differences between him and Yangyang, according to Jeno's observations.
With Yangyang, it's easy to have the boy be gentle and have a soft spot for him. Like when he dragged Jeno here as well.
But with Donghyuck, so far, the tanned male brushes off Jeno's worrywart instincts and is instead busy feeling excited about getting a tattoo.
Jeno wonders what Mark would do if he dragged him here too, he'd probably be the most nicest and consider Jeno's discomfort.
Maybe somewhere around Yangyang's level. To Jeno's conclusion; Donghyuck's evil.
"Finally got here, huh? I thought I had to cancel your appointment or something." Donghyuck rolls his eyes at the tattoo artist.
"As if Jaehyun would let you do that, ayo am I right hyung?!" Jaehyun flips him off from where he was sitting, reading a magazine in peace.
Jaemin shakes his head at him but soon his eyes finally set on Jeno, acknowledging the raven haired boy's presence beside Donghyuck.
Jeno, who was being stared down to the point he felt like he was exposed, looks away and clears his throat.
See? This is another reason why he didn't want to go here.
"The cat dragged in a pretty boy, what a treat." Jaemin winks whilst getting the equipments ready.
"I'm being nice for once, didn't drag in a rat." Donghyuck smirks, making himself comfortable.
Jaemin chuckles and eyes Jeno, the latter tries to not meet his gaze and plays with his fingers.
"You should really consider getting a tattoo next time you come by here." Jaemin comments.
And as if on cue, it gets Jeno blinking with his eyes wide open, flustered by Jaemin's words although it wasn't really a big deal.
"And why would I do such a thing?"
"The amount of times you come here." Jaemin briefly answers with a shrug of his shoulders.
"I go here just because of my friends who are morons." He emphasizes, getting Donghyuck to look at him and fake an offended face.
"Plus, I don't want to be here, but I am because I was dragged here. Reluctantly present, if you will." Jeno matter-of-a-factly says.
He crosses his arms and glares, "besides, I have other things to do-"
"Rereading dumb and boring books doesn't consider yourself busy, at least for me," Donghyuck interrupts with a teasing smirk.
"We don't even have anything to study for, and I'm pretty sure you memorize the whole thing. So I would suggest you should go out of your study cave, Jen."
"I second that, sorry, doll." Jaemin smiles, trying to seem innocent as Donghyuck briefly fist bumps him.
"And why? What am I getting out of this?" Jeno suddenly asks.
Donghyuck and Jaemin then look at each other, the tattoo artist's hand paused mid air whilst gripping tightly on the tool.
They furrow their eyebrows as Donghyuck then asks, "are you... Considering this as a challenge?"
"Are you underestimating me?" Jeno sasses back.
For some reason, he felt like this was supposed to be a challenge for him to take. And he honestly doesn't have the right senses to decline it.
He currently can't find the answers as to why but all he can do for now is to go with the flow.
Donghyuck held his hands up and shrugs his shoulders, "ask Jaemin, I'm just here to get my tattoo done on my back." He said and takes his shirt off.
Meanwhile, the tattoo artist ponders in thought before smirking. "Remember when you said you owe me?"
"Not this again!" Jeno automatically whines.
"What? Hey, I helped you with that project. You really do owe me something, sweetheart." Jaemin sweetly says.
Groaning, Jeno mutters on his seat. "Whatever, talk about this later. For now, go do your job."
"Bossy, I like it." Jaemin snickers before blowing him a kiss with his lips puckered, amused when Jeno grimaces in return.
