"Are you ready for your challenge for today?" Jaemin grins as he asks an already nervous Jeno in front of him.

The tattoo artist had surprised Jeno at his doorstep early in the morning once again. 6:30 am to be specific.

With a charming smile and seemingly ready to head out somewhere else based on his attire, he stopped by at Jeno's place first.

Of course, the younger boy freaked out and shut the front door and drags Jaemin by the arm, leading him a little bit far away from his house.

He is heading to school now anyway, so it'll be easy to know where he's going when he ever needs to run away from "Jaemin the pervert"; is what he sometimes calls.

Hence here they are on the sidewalk, Jeno wanting this to be quick so he won't be late for school; unlike last time due to his stupid first challenge.

The raven haired boy fiddles with his fingers as he purses his plump lips, "uhm... I... I guess so..."

When Jaemin raises a brow at him, seemingly hesitant himself whether he should continue to help push Jeno out of his comfort zone or not, the latter gulps.

"I... I am!" He rephrases and looks back at Jaemin with a persistent face.

It has the pink haired boy chuckling in amusement and starts clearing his throat before Jeno could begin whining about getting mocked.

"Well, we will take it easy today, alright?" Jeno nods briefly, mentally preparing himself for what's about to come.

Jaemin then continues and says, "for today... Well- tonight, actually... You will be staying up!"

"What?! I can't do that!" Jeno immediately freaks out, as expected.

Jaemin furrows his eyebrows that causes his forehead to crease. "And why not? It's easy!"

"No it isn't, and the better question is... Why would I stay up instead of getting some sleep?" Jeno sassily states.

"Relax, I'm just saying you could do that if you are not that tired from today's activities." Jaemin coaxes.

"Jaemin! I can't do that!"

"And why not?"

Tilting his head to the side, he then starts to test Jeno's state, skeptical of the raven haired boy.

But if he's wrong, then he just wants to tease the younger boy regardless.

"I have to study!" Was Jeno's first reason.

"You're already smart enough, why study when you can relax, away from those stressful books and information." Jaemin responds.

However, it seems like Jaemin is not the only one who's stubborn. Jeno decided to continue to argue back and spitting out more reasons.

It's quite funny for Jaemin, honestly. Jeno takes his words as a challenge, says he wants to do it to prove to them that he can be like them or whatever, but once he's been given a challenge, he gets hesitant.

Inwardly, Jaemin does thank the heavens, and Jeno that he was chosen at the end to be Jeno's "guide".

He can imagine the hell the raven haired boy would go through if it were the others, especially Donghyuck who would probably call him a "pussy" if he backed down.

Like right now.

Nothing to fret though, Jaemin doesn't think Jeno is being a coward. He understands the younger boy's state and what he's worried about.

He's a first timer in this slightly reckless experience after all.

"It's a Friday..."

"Exactly! Great timing am I right? If you're tired the next morning from staying up all night, then you can oversleep and laze around since it's the weekend!"

"Why laze around when I can do my homework and chores?" Jeno crosses his arms, thoughts about the challenge has been withdrawn to the side once again due to being uptight.

Jaemin snorts at him, "do you actually have homework to do?"

"Well, not yet-"

"Then if you have been given more homework today, just finish it at the library. And if not, use this challenge as an opportunity to finish them!"

"I can finish them the next morning, like you said, it's the weekend." Jeno deadpans.

"Why finish it tomorrow when you can finish it tonight?"

"You're so confusing! Just a second ago you said I should step away from those books, and now you're telling me I can do my homework tonight, hence why I should stay up!"

Jaemin quietly snickers at Jeno's frustration.

He totally meant to confuse the raven haired boy just to see what his reaction will be.

Placing a hand on Jeno's shoulder, he says, "I meant you shouldn't be studying the same materials all the time, relax for a moment.... Think of it like a... Vacation!"

"What are you saying?"

Sighing, he then lowers his voice to be more serious, hoping Jeno realizes. "I know you're pressuring yourself to study and be the best. But... Give your smart brain a break, yeah?"

Jeno goes silent, biting his inner cheek as he averts his gaze. "I... I don't know..."

Sensing something from Jeno's words, Jaemin slowly understands what else he's thinking about.

"It doesn't have to be all night, don't take everything I say too seriously... Another piece of advice, by the way."

Jeno tilts his head to the side, getting confused about what Jaemin said. But this time, he isn't as frustrated like a second ago.

Why? He doesn't know. Maybe Jaemin managed to calm his nerves.

"Then...?"

"When is your usual bed time?" Jaemin asks him first.

"I usually go to sleep at 9:30." He replies nonchalantly.

Jaemin fails to hide his slightly flustered look, making Jeno frown at him.

"Err... How about stay up til 10? Is that good?"

"What would I be doing anyway?" Jeno makes a face that oddly looks so innocent for Jaemin's point of view that he couldn't help but coo.

"Huh?"

Shaking his head, he takes a breath before replying to Jeno's question. "Anything you want."

But then he doesn't get a response, it was like a trigger word for Jeno or something that has the latter thinking deeply.

What does Jeno want to do besides going through books?

He doesn't exactly know. At least not yet.

"How about this," Jaemin speaks up again, getting Jeno to snap out of his thoughts. "Face time me."

"Ha?"

"You have my number, right?" Getting a nod in return, Jaemin reaches to pinch Jeno's cheek affectionately like he's been actually wanting to do.

"Alright, I'll face time you after dinner and we can do anything we want. Now I have to go now, you should too, pretty boy."

And off Jaemin went, leaving a frozen Jeno on the sidewalk, still stunned by the treatment he received.

Unfortunately, Jaemin didn't get to see Jeno's face turning red as the boy himself cups his own face, shaking his head as if trying to get rid of whatever feeling he's getting.
