"Lord, it's so bad." Jeno moans onto his palms covering his face as he slightly heats up from embarrassment.
Hearing his muffled sounds, Jaemin couldn't help the snicker from escaping his lips, getting another whine from Jeno.
The younger boy probably doesn't realize he's whining right now, or rather who he's with.
Jaemin clears up his throat, glancing at Jeno's phone screen another time. "It's not even bad, come on now." He attempts to reassure Jeno.
The raven haired boy huffs out this time, peeking through the cracks between his slender fingers to glare at Jaemin.
"It's blurry!" He reasons.
Jaemin snorts, shaking his head at him in both disagreement and amusement. "Jeno, that doesn't even matter." He says, shaking the phone in his hand.
Jeno merely glances at his own device, fighting the urge to reach out for it; away from Jaemin.
"Yes it does, it's not good." He bites back, frowning at the photo when Jaemin gestures to it again. "I don't know if it's me or it's the camera qualityβ"
"That doesn't matter either, babe." Jeno glares harshly at the elder boy once the pet name escapes his lips with no hesitation at all.
Curse Jaemin and his stupid flirty and shameless attitude.
Jaemin chuckles, raising his eyebrows up while taking a sip of his almost finished smoothie. "I'm telling you this as your.... Helper, I guess. The picture is fine."
"See? You said "fine" not good or anything else other than that," Jeno continues to pester him with his overthinking and lack of self-confidence.
It clicks in Jaemin's head, furrowing his eyebrows as he jokingly says, "would you rather have me saying it is trash?"
Biting his tongue gently, careful not to actually hurt himself and have it bleeding, Jeno replies. "You're not helping."
"Pretty boy, I can reassure you that there's nothing badβ"
Once again, Jaemin wasn't able to fully finish his sentence due to Jeno cutting him off; out of habit when he's stressed.
"Well I don't like it, I'm not satisfied with it..." He mumbles, more on to himself rather than admitting it to Jaemin in front of him.
Jaemin has some ideas on what's happening and why Jeno needs this much help with a small and simple photography project.
I mean, all the raven haired boy really has to do is make a mini album of his works, write small background stories of each photo or category, design it and label what kind of style he went for.
Besides Jeno not having that much knowledge of the photography world, he isn't really skilled even with a simple picture either; at least, from what he's explained.
It sounds ridiculous and not making a lot of sense, he could just take random pictures and add it to his mini album then decorate it to finish.
But it's Jeno, he is sort of a perfectionist and adding to his 'having high grades status', he needs Jaemin's help to continue that.
Another thing is that their teacher in this can be strict and mean, judgemental when it comes to projects as well.
It didn't help him so much when their teacher soon added more information; including rankings.
Jeno knows some of his weaknesses and strengths, hence why he asked for help.
"Why aren't you satisfied with it?" Jaemin tests the waters, gently asking him this time while fiddling with Jeno's phone in his hand.
Jeno shrugs his shoulders, "it's not good enough, that's just it, for now I guess." He sighs, bummed out.
"Then what do you want to do?" Jaemin tilts his head to the side, eyeing him carefully.
The raven haired boy looks up, meeting his curious and gentle eyes. There's an urge to let himself melt in Jaemin's comforting gaze, but Jeno's stubbornness got in the way.
"I don't know...." He trails off as a huff escape his plump lips. "I came here asking for help from you," he said as a reminder.
The pink haired boy hums, "do you want to take another shot?" He inches Jeno's phone back to him from across the table.
The owner of the small device looks at it for a moment, "I want to, but it will still end up looking like trash." He parrots Jaemin's previous word.
The elder boy cringes, and then exaggerates it a second later; hoping it can at least get a chuckle from Jeno.
"I was joking!" He pouts, defending himself. "It won't be, I'll say that." Adding afterwards, trying his best to convince Jeno.
The raven haired boy continues to overthink, loss in his running thoughts that makes his eyebrows knit together, creasing his forehead as a result.
Jaemin frowns a little, sense of worry slowly filling up his gut and his heart when he sees Jeno looking like a sad puppy.
There's a thought in him saying he should just tell Jeno what he should do, but then again, it also feels wrong.
Because he wants Jeno to decide for himself, how else would he feel more confident in himself if Jaemin's the one telling him what to do.
Jeno's a goody-two-shoes with high grades and (assumingly) as equally high standards. Great morals that sometimes makes Jaemin laugh in silliness.
Along with that is he's a perfectionist, it's hard to please him, even he himself.
"Hey," Jaemin gently calls out for him, hand itching to place it on top of Jeno's that was resting on their table.
The raven haired boy hums in acknowledgment, signaling him that he's listening while his other hand was mindlessly drawing on the now empty plate on the center of the table.
The pad of his finger pushes a few crumbs along the way, although there were some getting stuck on his skin, he continues to doodle as his ears were listening.
Jaemin bites his lower lip, "do you want to head out somewhere?"
"Now?" Jeno perks up almost instantly, eyes blinking with his long lashes slightly brushing his skin on the area under his eyes.
"If you want, I'm just asking if you want to take a breather whether it would be now or any day." Jaemin nonchalantly says.
Jeno ponders in thought, taking his phone to check the date and soon nods to himself.
"Tomorrow, let's meet up."
